I hold these contest not only to do something fun and support creativity. I also want to increase awareness to help children in need via and through Red Cross Foundation.I will always match the contest prizes in cash given away to Red Cross Foundation in winners name (or anonymously if desired). Participate and help me help others. What is the contest theme?
- This months contest will have Perspective as the contest theme.
We're pulling all Contests for now.Thank you all who have participated in the monthly contest the last couple months, it's been great to see all the entries and even more fun to just give away something. We're pulling all Contests for now. in Contests More Like This
Due to the decreasing contestans and move/work we cannot continue with the contests for now. I'm truly sorry to tell you this but it's the harsh reality of it. We we're looking into getting sponsors to give away cash + prizes but we need a stronger contestant ratio before we can do it. Also we're moving soon so things around that needs attention. Hopefully we'll be back sooner than later and bringing great prizes and contest for DeviantART.
Thanks again all of you who participated and took part of these months we started with it, see you again soon!
You who already submitted an entry upon the time writing this journal, will be compensated with 400 points each as a token of appreciation for the contest.
Cheers,
/Rob,

FINAL - March Poll Period * CLOSED:icontransparentplz:FINAL - March Poll Period * CLOSED in Happenings More Like This
:iconthefavouriteshowcase:
Hello dear members, watchers and visitors
This is the new way to find our winner of our POLL SYSTEM: instead using a Poll with the ten most voted of the period, we'll be using a blog to showcase the 20 MOST VOTED of this period!
This means, or so I hope, more exposure for your pieces and galleries.
The idea is simple: each work has a number and all deviants have the opportunity to vote like if it was a poll...with the difference that you will choose not one but 3 favourites!
All deviants may vote, INCLUSIVE who is participating; the participants may vote for themselves and ask friends and watchers to vote; this blog may have publicity by all means and be submitted in groups.
The work with most votes wins a 3 months sub, our usual prize.
Follow the RULES to VOTE...AND EVERYONE VOTING andING THIS BLOG will enter a draw to win 100
. The participants may and should click the Favourite Button too - you have
A Description for my next horrid creationSo since I'm lazy right now (at least when it comes to the time travel map series of mine) I'm going to flesh out some ideas for my next independent map/universe, which is basically a rather convergent yet ultimately MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH different of a world then ours, but at a glance could be confused for our own by some universe-traveler-guy.A Description for my next horrid creation in Personal More Like This
I suggest reading this first, then going and looking at the map when I post it, and THEN coming back and looking at this again in case anything is hard to understand. It should be, because this is a cursory overview without all the little details. If you want those, then you may want to comment a question on said map

Pale Blue DotWe succeeded in taking that picture [from deep space], and, if you look at it, you see a dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever lived, lived out their lives. The aggregate of all our joys and sufferings, thousands of confident religions, ideologies and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilizations, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every hopeful child, every mother and father, every inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every superstar, every supreme leader, every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lived there on a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam.Pale Blue Dot in Personal More Like This
The earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and in triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the e
Fast Food Art?Hello people of dA!Fast Food Art? in Personal More Like This
In the last weeks I'm getting the impression that there are many people out there that can easily be compared to fast food customers...
Finding many nice pictures in a few seconds, FAVING IT ALL, so that one can look it up later, when one has the time... (What maybe will never happen) YES, I would call it "fast food art". It's the same issue like in music. People having thousands of music files on their gear, listening to just what their mood fits best at that time, spending no time to think or even really LISTEN to the music. And that's the point I am trying to make here;
We should not consume art like it was fast food or any MP3-file on our iphone. It's really not about having lots of favourites. What counts must be quality, not quantity. And I mean, is there any artist out there that does NOT feel sad if his or her art is faved for about a hundred times but having just a few people who leave at least a comment like "I like it!" ?
Do we real
