This year, we have a Red Deer The type of deer isn't as significant as the fact that he is stargazing and dreaming. 2011 is about coming up with goals and dreams for the year and accomplishing them, even if they're small. Remember that things always work out in the end, and if you don't take any chances in life, you will get nowhere. Dream, take the chance, and ride the stars!
Here's to the New Year (Nude Deer!), I hope you all have a good one!
The next in the series of anthro hoofed beings, this is Elia, the shaman for the group. He's a bull caribou. I'm especially pleased with the antlers turned out, as well as the walking stick. It took a long time to tweak them both how I wanted them.
Fourth in the hoofed mammal series I did is Siris, a Mule Deer buck. I conisder this character the leader of the group for some reason, most likely because he was the first of the series I actually drew. We have an abundance of Mule deer where I live, and you don't see them as often as other deer species in artwork, so I decided to draw him up.
This one took me ages >.> Wanted to try out some different coloringtechnique, but I guess Im not gonna paint like this again xD Maybe something similar. *has something in mind* Oh, and I didnt find a good title for the pic by myself, so I took the title of the song Beer Beer from the folk metal band Korpiklaani XD
for her character Kamix in anthro version. She suggested that he could be a deer and i thought that could be a piebald deer cause is full of cute freckles. I like her art, specially how she draw the expressions of her characters. A lot of pictures of this character could be found in her gallery :3
I personally believe in the concept of totems. Bear is not one that I normally work with, but lately he just seems to keep showing up in subtle ways.
So... I was inspired to draw this. I've never tried to put tattoos on fur before, but I imagine they would have to be more like the scarification practices that some cultures have. Not entirely sure that I got the right effect, though.
On the upside, claws are fun.
The Character of Nexus Dragon as anthro gryphon, and I have to admit.. the first blue gryphon character I ever made... and a really nice one
Background is painted using soft-edged PS brushes, Character ground coloring is done in cell style but painted the shading over it later on using various brushes and also gradients, also made another leaf-brush
... badly this doesn't mean I am open for commissions yet, sorry...
