I did this design years ago for a freelance client. Can't remember who the client was, can't even remember exactly when. I think it might have actually been around 2001, but I put a 2004 copyright note on the artwork. I think the clients' company might have been called SGD.

This mech is the main opponent of this... [link]

This is another mecha design in my "Mecha Zone" series from back in 2004. I made prints of this to sell at the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con. The design was inspired by paintball gear!

I have some issues with the proportions of the legs compared to the upper body but I never managed to rework it. I might try redrawing this one someday.

Oh yeah- YOU CAN BUY A PRINT of this!

Heck, I can't even remember if I got paid for the work... but I think I did.

This is the front view for the medium federation mech along with half of the supplemental detail drawings. The back view has the other half.

There were 4 mechs in this series. I'll eventually post all of them.

Haven't made any mecha images recently so I made this. Didn't even have an idea for the color scheme so I used the colors on the Philippine flag, hehe.

Ah well, another mecha. This time it's a super robot! With swords! I thought I might as well make one after all that talk about hot-bloodedness in my previous deviation.

This mecha set was an old artwork i was able to dig out of my archives. Done originally as a lineart but i ended up filling it in with markers. I was heavily influenced in anime back then so i might start doing more art similar to this.

SS-A77 Durandal, a 13m tall attacking oriented mecha capable of electronic jamming, and equipped with a powerful rifle. Also armed with side and back missile launchers. Each arm has a 120mm machine gun on it, and there's also machine gun on each shoulder.

That would do as the mecha description :P

So this is the colored version, the lineart was actually finished on October 2006, but I feel like giving color to this, so with my other tasks it's just done earlier this month XD

Mecha lineart commission for :iconellundiel: :)

A close combat high mobility mech aimed for front line battles, the CER-073 Tsurugi is equipped with two shord knives / swords, one on each side, and a standard rifle with two magazine of 24 rounds each for ranged fire power.

The standard thrusters on the mech are made for short to mid range flight and mobility purposes. If needed, additional backpack / thrusters, radars, jamming systems can be added for long distance flight, sacrificing a bit of its mobility.

I enjoyed making this one, hope you'll like it :D

Heres another bio neural type mech. The pilot jacking in through spinal taps to take better control of the mech.
This particular model (if I keep it) is the Rangers main biomech model deployed by purple battalion.
Heavily armed, armored, and shielded. Customizable shoulder hardpoints carry extra ammo or mounted weapons. It cannot articulate shields to the degree an Elemental can, but its comparatively massive reactor allows it to exert huge forces none the less.

Done in a quick OC session, with post work in PS.

A heavy hitting battle mech designed to engage at long range in open battle, with moderate urban capacity if appropriately armed, it large size however is a limiting factor in where it can move.
Heavy magnetic rifles provide heavy hitting firepower at long range, with a high cycle rate afforded by a large reactor and charging capacitors.
Two turrets mounting 30mm cannon pairs offer protection from closing targets and keep the lead raining between main gun salvos.
The design benefits from expanded load options. Large weapon loads can be fitted, but by default extra armor and ammunition are used to keep such a unit on the field as long as possible.

Special Armament: Chemical Laser Rifle, Titanium Axe, Stormbolt Artillery Cannon

Overview

The Cerberus series acts as the ‘primary’ model of the three variants. That is to say, of the three models, the Cerberus has the lowest average production and maintenance costs, resulting in a higher fielding ratio of it as opposed to the other models. The Cerberus makes up a majority portion of the fielded Lohengrin models as used by the Expeditionary Forces, thanks to its medium armored chassis, increased compliment of weapons, versatility, and relatively easy to restock weapon stores.
The Cerberus is armed with a 90mm Gauss Rifle that allows it to deal with most combat situations fairly easily, while the optional Chemical Laser Rifle gives it a significantly more powerful attack power at the cost of effective weapons range. Because of this lack of extra range from the secondary rifle, the Cerberus also supports a hip mounted Titanium Axe, though these two weapons are not standard equipment. The Cerberus can also be specially equipped with a Stormbolt Artillery Cannon. However it is generally reserved for special operations purposes, as it greatly increases the mecha's profile, leaving it an open target in most combat situations.

Weapon Systems

Black Sphere Drive (Type Alpha)
Location: Mounted into mecha frame

Description
While not a weapon system, the Black Sphere Drive is a vital piece of equipment that was developed for use in the second and third generation Lohengrin Mecha. While the main purpose of the Black Sphere Drive was to provide thrust for larger air born craft, the smaller Alpha Type Drive module was adapted to allow small vehicles and mecha an energy efficient flight system.
The Black Sphere Drive is made up of two vitally important components – a central core, and an outer shell like layer. The central core is externally controlled to make subtle and minute movements that are then channeled through the outer core – these movements are converted to kinetic energy, which is then magnified several thousand times and causes the outer shell to move. Any craft (mecha suit, vehicle or battle ship) which uses a Black Sphere Drive has its frame lined with the same material as the Drive’s outer shell, and then directly connected to the Drive system itself – thus the kinetic energy that channels through the outer shell transfers into the frame of the craft itself. When applied as a means of flight, the Black Sphere Drive generates enough kinetic force that it is able to counter-act the forces of Earth’s gravity, generating lift.

90mm Gauss Rifle

Location: Hand Carried, Magnetic Coils powered by power coupling in mecha's hand
Rate of Fire: 3 Round Burst Fire or 1 Round Fire Setting
Ammunition: 200 Rounds fed to weapon by hip mounted ammunition canister
Description
The 90mm Gauss Rifle fires 90mm Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail Armor Piercing rounds made from a copper coat and tungsten carbide core. The rifle uses a magnetic coil system to fire the 90mm rounds at extremely high velocities, increasing the maximum distance of the rifle as well as increasing its armor piercing capacity. The 90mm gauss rifle can fire in a standard three round burst, or in single round setting – making an excellent sniper rifle.

Chemical Laser Rifle

Location: Hand Carried
Output: 2.5 MW
Ammunition: 10 Shots per Cartridge, Extra cartridges stored on back hip mount
Description
The Chemical laser rifle uses a deuterium-fluoride reaction in which fluorine atoms are accelerated through supersonic nozzles into a laser cavity where it is mixed with Deuterium in a low-temperature low-pressure environment, forming an excited Deuterium-fluoride molecule. The stimulated photons as a result from this reaction are then used to create a laser beam which is capable of generating approximate 2.5 MW of energy in output power. When applied as a weapon, the Chemical Laser is able to do a devastating amount of damage to most objects.

Titanium Axe

Location: Hand Carried
Description
The Titanium axe is a hand held weapon measuring in at a length of 2.5 meters. Its handle grip and blade are made from different types of Titanium Composite allows in order to allow the maximum cutting potential, while at the same time providing an optimum weapon strength. The blade itself is made from an alloy composite to give maximum strength and durability, while the edges have been heat treated and hardened to give a stronger cutting edge. The handle is made from a slightly softer composite, allowing the force and shock from impact to transfer through the blade to the handle, distributing impact along the full length of the weapon to minimize breaking potential.

Stormbolt Artillery Cannon

Location: Hand Carried
Rate of Fire: 5 rounds a minute
Ammunition: 50 rounds fed to weapon by hip mounted ammunition canister
Description
A very large and very powerful artillery cannon, the Stormbolt Artillery Cannon fires 155mm explosive howitzer rounds. Howitzer rounds generally have a higher-than average splinter effect than most artillery rounds, making them a superior long-range artillery ammunition.

REPORT ON THE JUGGERNAUT CLASS LOHENGRIN

Model Number: M-18G
Classification: Heavy Assault Mecha
Manufacturer: Lohengrin Engineering
Pilot: N/A
First Deployment: N/A
Accommodation: pilot only, in fixed cockpit mounted into mecha frame
Head Height: 10.0 Meters
Weight: 45.0 tons
Sensor Systems: Head Camera; Heat Based Sensor System, 200 meter effective range
Targeting Systems: Onboard Computer
Construction: Reinforced Titanium Composite Alloy
Power Plant: Onboard Energy Battery, 2 Hour Operational Time
Propulsion System: Black Sphere Drive, Beta Type
Flight Speed: 200 km/h
Maximum running speed: 20 km/h
Leap Distance: 2+ Meters
Safe Fall Distance: 10+ meters
Armament: Black Sphere Projectile Cannon
Special Armament: N/A

Overview

The Juggernaut series lohengrin mecha is one of the ‘second generation’ lohengrins developed by the Lohengrin Engineering group. The others in the series include the Cerberus and Maelstrom series. All three models utilize the same basic frame, with a number of individual developments to specific roles, as well as a number of unique features that developed as Lohengrin Engineering became more advanced in developing mecha and weapons technology.
The Juggernaut is the heaviest armored and slowest moving of the three lohengrin designs – but it also has the highest potential weapons load-out yield and destructive capability. The Juggernaut’s slower pace is compensated for by the fact its armor layering is twice that of most models, giving it a major defensive booster against most mecha based weapons, and a neigh impervious state against most traditional weapons.
Armor, however, is only one of the Juggernaut’s impressive design features. The largest part of the Juggernaut’s design role is its Black Sphere Projectile cannon, which gives it an unparalleled destructive power against any and all types of ground based vehicles and structures. While the Black Sphere Projectile Cannon is almost exclusively for anti-ground based assault, its wide heavy reinforced frame allows the Juggernaut to load up a variety of other heavy striking weapon systems for most any enemy type, usually taking place as some form of missile system.

Weapon Systems

Black Sphere Drive (Type Beta)
Location: Mounted into mecha frame

Description
While not a weapon system, the Black Sphere Drive is a vital piece of equipment that was developed for use in the second and third generation Lohengrins. While the main purpose of the Black Sphere Drive was to provide thrust for larger air born craft, the smaller Alpha Type Drive module was adapted to allow small vehicles and mecha an energy efficient flight system. However, the Alpha Type was generally too small for larger scale weight classes, but the larger Omega Type used for larger ships generally proved ‘too power’ and too detrimental on mecha operational times. To compensate for this issue, a slightly larger variant of the Alpha Type was created – the Beta Type.
Any craft (mecha, vehicle or battle ship) which uses a Black Sphere Drive has its frame lined with the same material as the Drive’s outer shell, and then directly connected to the Drive system itself – thus the kinetic energy that channels through the outer shell transfers into the frame of the craft itself. When applied as a means of flight, the Black Sphere Drive generates enough kinetic force that it is able to counter-act the forces of Earth’s gravity, generating lift.

Black Sphere Projectile Cannon

Location: Hand Carried
Rate of Fire: 2 Round Buckshot, 6 Buckshot Shots per Minute
Ammunition: 6 Rounds Ammunition Clip

Description
The Black Sphere Projectile Cannon is the ultimate in sheer destructive potential developed by the Lohengrin Engineering team. Rather than firing traditional weapon rounds which either exploded or were designed for armor piercing, the Black Sphere Projectile Cannon fired spherical rounds of steel which had been combined with the same material which made up the core of the Black Sphere Drive System. These projectile rounds are loaded up into the gun’s firing chamber before being fired out with magnetic coils (similar to the gauss weaponry used by the Cerberus and Maelstrom models). As the rounds exit the barrel of the Projectile Cannon, they are given a charge of Black Sphere energy from the Juggernaut itself – which combines with and amplifies the existing kinetic force of the rounds. What usually follows it a sonic boom as the Black Sphere Rounds are delivered to their target at supersonic speeds. Generally speaking, the impact alone is enough to devastate any ground based target, and turn the surrounding area into a flattened crater – but the effect is all the more devastating against mecha or battle ships that use the Black Sphere Drive System. When impacting against a craft that uses a Black Sphere Drive system, the Black Sphere Rounds will impact against the hull, shattering the outer-plating as the remainder of the kinetic force transfers into that craft’s Black Sphere Drive system, causing a negative energy feed back that will cause the entire craft to move in separate directions at the same time, tearing it apart.

REPORT ON THE MARDUC CLASS LOHENGRIN

Model Number: M-14
Classification: Prototype General Purpose Lohengrin
Manufacturer: Lohengrin Engineering
Pilot: N/A
First Deployment: N/A
Accommodation: pilot only, in fixed cockpit hatch
Head Height: 9.0 Meters
Weight: 34.5 Tons
Sensor Systems: Heat Based Sensor System, 100 meter effective range
Targeting Systems: Onboard Computer
Construction: Reinforced Titanium Composite Alloy
Power Plant: Onboard Energy Battery, 2 Hour Operational Time
Propulsion System: N/A
Maximum running speed: 35 km/h
Leap Distance: N/A
Armament: 150mm Dual Assault Cannon x2, 175mm Machine Cannon
Special Armament: N/A

Overview

The Marduc series was the very first mecha created by Lohengrin Engineering and as such, it lacks the features more common the ‘second generation’ models, such as a more streamlined frame, or the advanced Black Sphere Drive. The Marduc series is slower, bulkier, and generally less efficient than even the more commonplace Cerberus series. None the less, the Marduc still finds a common ground in the Expeditionary Forces Lohengrin division because of its relatively low operational and production costs.
The Marduc lacks a complicated cockpit system, and leaves the pilot fairly unprotected with a simple bullet-proof cockpit. It is not particularly effective against larger anti-mecha weaponry, but more than a match for traditional ground-based assault weapons, and fairly resistant against smaller scale explosives. The Marduc also possesses a short wave radio transmitting in the 27MHz range, allowing communication up to 17 miles. However, this is an insecure radio frequency, and communication with it is highly discouraged under most circumstances.
Because of the relatively low-tech design of the Marduc, it is generally not used on the front line of combat because of its lower survival rating in extended combat situations. Instead, the Marduc class of lohengrin has found a common setting in military bases and low-security areas. The Expeditionary Forces can then direct their funds into investing into the higher end mecha models for front-line combat, where the extra advantage in battle could mean the difference between a victory and a loss in a battle. The sheer number of Marduc class mecha produces by the Lohengrin Engineering for the Expeditionary Forces has led to a large number of them to be stolen by various underworld organizations and sold to a variety of different groups. The low threat potential of the Marduc in most conventional combat situations has caused the Expeditionary Forces to overlook this matter.

Weapon Systems

150mm Dual Assault Cannon
Location: Mounted into mecha
Rate of Fire: 35 Rounds per Minute (Per Cannon)
Ammunition: 20 rounds each individual cannon

Description
The 150mm Dual Assault Cannons are designed primarily as an emergency anti-vehicular weapon capable of doing a moderate amount of damage against heavily armored targets, while at the same time still capable of faring semi-efficiently against ‘soft’ targets and structures. The Dual Assault cannons fire 150mm Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail Armor Piercing (FMJBT, AP) rounds made from a copper jacket around a tungsten carbide core, assuring a deep armor penetration and excellent accuracy.

175mm Machine Cannon
Location: Hand Carried, ammo fed from back mounted ammunition rack
Rate of Fire: 100 rounds per minute
Ammunition: 700 rounds
Additional Features: Light Mounted onto Machine Cannon frame, beneath barrel

Description
The 175mm Machine Cannon is a large anti-vehicular rifle directly connected to the mecha frame which is capable of operating at an incredibly high rate of fire, allowing the Marduc to dispose of a large number of armored targets in a fairly short amount of time. Utilizing FMJBT AP rounds made from a copper jacket and a tungsten carbide core, the 175mm Machine Cannon is capable of decimating nearly any assault force
