The Waking WillowWillow trees that dream at duskThe Waking Willow in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Perched beside the rivers brink
May hang their heavy branches down
Resting where the shadows slink.
Weary from the wearing world
But born to bare it, though they sink
Into the mire round their roots
And still, with thirst they deeply drink
From waters formed pon mountains high
And droplets formed from weeping skies
That watch below the whole earth die
Swallowed softly in its lies.
Just like the mire round the roots,
From which a willow tree must rise,
Mans world spreads forth its hungry hive
To eat all it can hypnotize.
And so the weeping willow cries
And bends in sorrow to the brink
Limbs shaking with the silent sighs
Grief growing from the soils stink
And sees reflected in the stream
Its rippling form held in the light
That seems to whisper of a dream
We waking walk through till the night.
When bleary sun will rest its eye
And darkness fall upon us all
Then we can look up to the sky
And hear the silver clarion call

And soon you echoed through my halls,
And offered me the hand of fate.
You told me of your foreign lands,
And tugged me gently toward their shore.

Into the thirsty ocean's roar.
And so we sailed towards glooming night,
Star-eyed and dreaming, hearts entwined
Each drunken in the others sight,
Each full of hopes and danger blind.
And now the dark has finally come
But left us with the quiet stars.
No more the heat of glowing sun,
But silvered beauty now is ours.
Which softly sings of coming dawn,
And greater things than light soaked noon
And whispers why all hearts are drawn
To dance beneath the fickle moon

And knowing, drink the lover's brew
And toast to what my love would ask
And give my will to cleave to you.

The Existence of EvilIn this point in time, in our world, there are hundreds and perhaps thousands of movies portraying the classic good versus evil struggle. But as I ponder on it, I start to wonder, is evil even real? Or is it a man-made concept? The Existence of Evil in Philosophical More Like This
Let us look at a few points. We basically look at these things as evil: Murder, lying, rape, theft, and dishonesty.
If you narrow it down even more, it comes down to Murder and Dishonesty, because rape is a kind of theft (taking without consent) and theft and lying are kinds of dishonesty. But if you look at it even more abstractly, you see that we all do bad things. To kill someone is, according to society, a very bad thing. But our governments create wars and our corporations fund them. So, killing is bad...but killing people in another country is justifiable? That, in itself, is a form of dishonesty. You are not being true to yourself if you try to justify killing someone for your country if you believe that killing is bad in the first place.

Not everyone will agree on what they like in music, and not everyone will agree that a band is grindcore, or hardcore, or thrash, or what have you. It is all meaningless. I know people who would argue that a band is this and not that, and I just think to myself, "Who the fuck cares?" This doesn't just apply to metal though, this applies to a lot of music. I don't even know why we have a need to generalize music.
One would say "because we need to label everything," or that "because some people are too stupid to realize that there are more similarities than differences." Some people perpetuate these ideas through many different mediums. Too many a
Extremism MentalityThe extremist mentality has been a way for people to pick sides since the beginning of forever. There has always been a good versus evil portrayed in virtually everything you have seen in the theatres or on tv, or even played in video games. It is always good guys versus bad guys. If the world were this way, truly, then it would be a much more simple place, and we would all know what side we wanted to be on. Unfortunately, the world is not so simple, for in reality, we actually have all kinds of standpoints, be them political, religious, philosophical, or anywhere in between. Then, of those groups we have sub groups, and of those subgroups we have extremists. Two motivators in my activities show opposite spectral ends, a Christian rationalists, and an atheist antitheist-extremist. If one truly wants to end religion totally (a pointless goal, people like comfort, the better goal is to strive for nonopporession) the best way is to take it tactically, remove the heads from power - the extremists, then, if you're so vehement and extremist yourself, work outward - agnostics will deconvert as they please, borderlines will pull inward as you force outward, don't destroy potential allies due to your own ignorance, and anticlerical arrogance.Tactical Control in Editorial More Like This

Of course you will believe in something if you want to. It's simply a matter of prioritization. Say you don't want to be alone, more than you want to live in an enlightened state. You will create a God, who you can always talk to and thus never be alone, to avoid this loneliness. However, not everyone is willing to give in that easily.
The mistake that so many of the pro-God make is the assumption that the anti-God somehow does not want God to exist. Yes, I know, that's very contradictory wording.
In some cases, yes, this is very true. I still haven't found a religion that proposes a wholly good God, and so I would not want any of their models to exist. I'm not going to force myself to believe in the Invisible Pink Jesus, or the Fallen Spaghetti Angel.

The news couldn't shut up about it, teachers were trying to inform us about it, there was political action that wasn't being taken, and there were protests on what people viewed as being a subject no one cared enough about to fix. I actually started to think that maybe, just maybe, humanists might exist, somewhere in Americuntry. What About Darfur? in Editorial More Like This
Now look at where we are. When was the last time you heard a self-proclaimed humanist talking about how they want to stop the Janjaweed? I can't remember; not in awhile, really. You'd think, with the increased certainty that troops will be withdrawn from the Middle East, people would be suggesting we go into Africa and kick ass, Americunty style. I can see why we wouldn't, but has anyone made any suggestions for it? Nope. Nothing. It's fucking silent. More than 450,000 people have been killed since the problems began in 2003, and what do people care about? Jessica Simps

"I hear Pripyat is pleasant this time of year."
Sniper stood watch, just outside the old travel agency building. Aside from somehow withstanding the rest of the block collapsing around it, the shop was impressive for having reasonably preserved brochures. Captain and Pilot would often amuse themselves by planning trips to countries that no longer existed, and Engineer would gather what they discarded for kindling. Whenever Sniper grew sufficiently bored, he'd call out with something he thought was witty.
It was a bit like that, being on watch; you'd either say something funny and die knowing your sense of humour was too good for this world, or you'd say nothing and die without validating your ego.
"Actually," Engineer spoke up from the Visit Asia section, a finger tracing over dusty advertisements as he moved along the aisle, "One of the last GOOD directorate broadcasts sent out was a list of anomalies brought on by the apocalypse, and apparently Chernobyl became the least radiated pla

It had been dropped off cliffs, plunged into radioactive water, used to hold questionable substances and once travelled several hundred kilometres after Pilot tied a helium balloon to it. It had been thrown at Snippy countless times. It had suffered the indignity of being sat on by Engie after the Captain left it lying on a chair.
It had never been washed in its life.
But in the end, all it took was one little nudge, and the mug the great, glorious mug was reduced to a few shards of broken ceramic and a spatter of sad-looking tea.
It happened like this:

Its being forgotten
No, not like meeting someone for one minute and
Being afraid they wont remember me later
Its not being remembered at all
Im afraid of not existing
I dont want to be just ash and dust
No way Ill make history
Can the common person be known?
I dont want to be famous
But can you receive one
Without the other?
Can I be a shadow
With something that lasts?
No, I dont want light

A selfish fear

And hope that the echoes reach somebodys ears

Winking it's bright eye, it said,
"Nothing is as it seems" as it

and see the world in all it's honesty,
it has no ability to lie.
For nothing is as honest as

I don't know what to do, where to go.
The reins slip from my hands as I grasp for straws.

A temporary path keeps us from dying.
But in its blessing it keeps us lying.
There are a few who have heard our truth yet don't see in.
They've heard those words but it doesn't sink down.
I...we...have not the strength to call for help.
No one wants to take the blame if it all goes wrong.
Like it did before.
Instead of helping it only made us hate that much more.

So Franz Ferdinand (And presumably Domino records) have been seduced by the Boba Fett of the EBs, The web sheriff. Even though Franz Ferdinand were pro pirates or pro personal use themselves.
Indeed, it might have been a leak, but leaks are becoming a form of protest in the industry when someone in the label gets cheesed off at his working conditions. Of course it could be something else (It could be a trap!), but that's what may have happened in the past.
Then again, Domino records used DRM anyway (and apparently, the Web sheriff as well), so its no surprise, and maybe they are pulling the strings in this, using the artist to make themselves look like victims. But Domino is a indie label, therefore both them and Franz Ferdinand are now blacksheep. The person they dissed was just linking too.

And if they are a part of us,
then shouldnt we go to?
we say that love knows no bounds
so, i think, that love lasts past the hour of death.
Even when we are emmersed in oblivion
there will still be love
Nothing is dependable, Nothing lasts
but thure love endures all misery and hatred,
all words and actions,
all life and loss.

your love shall be your legacy
