Another beautiful Power Girl drawing by Daikon that just called out to be colored!
Original line art by Daikon. I added colors, shading & a sky background. You can find more artwork by Daikon @ [link] & [link] ________________________________________ Other art by Daikon that I've colored: [link]
Here is a piece I did for a nive gentleman that wanted me to draw Big Barda. Even though I'm a Marvel fan, DC has a lot of cool characters, and Barda has that awesome Kirby costume. Mixed media on 9 x 14 paper.
Another take on how Powergirl could have looked for the start of the New 52, and i think an example on how to keep true to the spirit of her most recognised costume while giving her some sort of symbol ( that lets be honest she doesn't need and has never needed ).
It has to be said, Power Girls solo series in the final years of DC's Modern Era ( 1986/87 to 2011 ) was excellent, largely breaking free of the dreary toned Crisis stories and having a lot of the fun and knowing humour that DC once did very well in the late 1980's ( to me it felt much more akin in tone to her time in the Justice League International than the JSA, which i approve of ). So it was a pity it was canceled just as the comic was hitting it's stride with it's third writer to be replaced by DC's New 52 re-imagining of her in Worlds Finest.
