Tricksters in Modern LiteratureArticle Series: Tricksters in Literature, Part 5 of 5Tricksters in Modern Literature in Literature More Like This
For the final installment in the Trickster article series, we’ll be discussing tricksters in modern literature and the ways, if any, in which these modern-day tricksters are similar to those in mythology and folklore, folktales and fables, and fairytales and fantasy.
The artwork in this article focuses on tricksters currently in popular media, mostly films and television, since art of tricksters in modern-day literature is difficult to find. Many thanks to the artists for allowing me to feature their gorgeous artwork in these articles.
So, how does the modern-day trickster compare to tricksters we discussed in past articles? Let’s find out.
But first, say hello to one of the most well-known and beloved tricksters of our time:

5 Year Plan*Because I'll be teaching in about a week at SCAD, I've been thinking a lot about what to tell the students. And I wrote it out so that I could solidify it in my head. This stuff is for younger artists mostly, so feel free to skip.5 Year Plan in Personal More Like This
When I spend time with another comic artist, sometimes I'll ask, "What's your 5 year plan?" In other words, what steps is he taking in order to gain control over his career in order to move up the ladder? Usually I don't get much of an answer.
The reason I think many comic artists aren't forward-thinking has to do with the way our industry is set up. Whether by conscious design or through the neglect of its participants, younger freelancers get into a habit of complacency while hoping for a chance to suckle from the teet of a major publisher. Waiting around for a career doesn't promote the idea of freelancers taking active control of their OWN careers.
If I had to sum up the 5 Year Plan

How to link/make links
the tag can used to make regular text links where you decide what the link will be called
Two kinds of links:
1) My Gallery: http://brgtt.deviantart.com/gallery/ will be displayed as:
My gallery: http://brgtt.deviantart.com/gallery/
2) My gallery will be displayed as:
You can also put all kinds of other stuff inside tags - like images, which will be explained further down in this journal
Using image tags.
What is an image tag?
An image tag let's you put images (not thumbs) in your journal - like this:
the code to display an image is very simple and easy to remember:
- so the image tag code consist of the actual tag (img) which holds the image url (the place online where the image is stored).

Character Design: An introductionCharacter Design: An introduction in Art Features More Like This
Arvalis-2012 by `arvalis
What does 'Character Design' mean?
The character design is the process which comes after the characterisation and consists in defining the character through his/her physical appearance.
We need to consider a character as a little fictional creature, human or not, that aims to please its creator and the public as well.
While the basic characterization of this fictional creature (his tastes, his fears, his behaviors) may take a little mental effort, as it is a sort of list of emotions, facts and feelings that come and go in the life of a character, the process of visual realization of this creature may not be as simple. That's why many writers and characters creators prefer to rely on experienced hands.
Also many of the mental aspects of the character are not possible to gain by using 'static' visual medium. For 'static' I mean all the illustrations and drawings unable to tell a
The Others Feature Again - Part 1Like many deviants, I have an alternate account where I post works which are a bit different than my normal fares. I also use the account to post random features. Sadly, because that account is not very popular, I always fear these wonderful pieces aren't quite getting the exposure they deserve. So, this is the first in a periodic series where I will showcase art featured in my `mirz-alt journals. If you like any of these pieces, be sure to fave it, or better yet comment on the deviation. Of course, a visit to the artist's gallery would be nice, too.The Others Feature Again - Part 1 in Traditional More Like This
Due to the semi-monthly-ish nature of my Alt features, I expect these articles will publish every 3-6 months.

An awesome concept and interesting look into artists and their environment. Was a little self conscience at first having so many pictures taken of me and my home/workspace but it didn't take me long to get comfortable as the shoot was pretty laid back. The tough part was actually doing the writing!
I hope you dig it! It was super rad!

We all have (to varying degrees) a phobia against talking on the phone. (Direct chat is better, but still a little too close for comfort.)
We all love to read, with Lizzie in the lead (due to lifelong enthusiasm and an avid consumption of audio books), Kat a seasoned general who has been reading books since before she started school, and Zuno an eager newcomer who was dragged into the world of books a few years ago by the two others. (On the other hand, Lizzie had to be dragged kicking and screaming into manga, which she was certain she wouldn't like, by the two others.)
Our collective favourite genre is fantasy, with c

He is also to appear in the next issue of Wolverine # 300.
What are you guys thoughts about his return?
None of these comic books explained how he came back but I think the comic book Wolverine: Evolution Part 2 will explain how he returned but I'm not sure when that comic will come out.
But yeah he's back!!!! WOOOO
