So I noticed it's been TWO YEARS since my last symbiote related submission...so I figured I was overdue. Once more we have Naomi Kenshi, now no longer calling herself She-Venom but rather 'Venomiss' (both a portmanteau of Venom and Miss, as well as a homonym of Venomous)
Given the length of time since my last She-Venom submission I also figured it was time to update the character's story a little as well, so it fits in better with current Marvel story lines. So here goes:
This current incarnation of Naomi Kenshi is somewhat different than the original. She is the step-daughter of a corrupt and powerful Japanese businessman who has links to the Yakuza. As a child she and her family moved to the United States after her step-father's company transferred him to manage their New York office. Once there, his corruption only worsened. He began orchestrating his own rise within the company using his Yakuza connections.
At age 14, Naomi and her mother became aware of her step-father's misdeeds. He ordered they both keep the information to themselves, or else he would kill them. For the next two years, Naomi lived under a constant fear of death in her own home. One day, her mother is killed after a rival Mafia family does a drive by of their house, attempting to kill Naomi's step-father. Blaming him for her death, Naomi runs away from home, stealing several thousand dollars of her step-father's money. Enraged, he orders her hunted down.
Using the stolen money, Naomi is able to evade capture from her step-father's associates for several months. Unfortunately, the cash pool begins to dry up, and Naomi is forced onto the streets. She is eventually tracked down and cornered by several men working for her step-father. As she attempts to fight back, she is stabbed repeatedly. Her assailants deposit her body in a dumpster and leave her to die. She is not alone in the dumpster. Itself clinging to life due to prolonged separation, the Venom symbiote (since unbonded from its latest host Flash Thomson due to reasons you can speculate over) rapidly bonds to the dying girl. The joining saves both of them.
Together, they fuel each others rage- Naomi's fury over her mother's death combined with the symbiote's inherent madness create a new Venom creature. Initially calling herself 'Venom', Naomi begins her one-woman crusade to take out her step-father's associates and then eventually him.
In this incarnation, Naomi is not as heroic as she was in the original story. Rather she is driven purely by her desire to kill the man responsible for her mother's death. After killing him, her bloodlust still not satisfied, she turns her attention to the Yakuza who attempted to kill her, and then to the Mafia family that actually assaulted her house. She eventually draws the attention of a number of Super Heroes, including Spider-Girl (the current one) and the Media, who are the ones to dub her 'Venomiss'. The name sticks, despite Naomi and the symbiote's dislike for it.
FYI - the quote in the upper right corner is from the song 'Bad Reputation' by Joan Jett. It illustrates this version of Naomi's 'don't give a shit' attitude regarding her actions.
Just for the hell of it I decided to do an alternate version of the original picture, featuring Naomi in her fully transformed state. Originally this was how the image was going to be done, but I was more interested in showing the new Naomi design.
This was done as a commission for DarkSamuraiX1999 who is graciously allowing me to post it.
For those of you who've been following my artwork for the past few years may find this familiar. The client requested that I redo an earlier She-Venom picture using the current Naomi design. Personally I think it turned out really well while still remaining familiar.
from Faltain's Idea
Hehe good stuff...
Have you thought about doing an image where a woman is putting on some sort of clothing, not realizing it's the alien costume disguised? Maybe she's pulling a sweater down and it's turning into the Venom outfit and she's shocked? OR.... maybe she's pulling up a pair of jeans and it's turning into the Venom outfit... either idea might be fun!
Here it is! Alien costume disguised this girl pants.
This is a good one. A symbiote (which is not Carnage but one of my own creation) thats taking over Jenny (a.k.a ~Oni-Twilight), and has only a few seconds before she's fully enveloped by it.
Feel free to comment.
After the host and symbiote fusion is completed, their strength and agility increased drastically and able to change they body part to weapons that is impervious and resilient to heat ..but the host is unable to control her feelings.. since her body is infused with symbiote.. and once they are in RAGE mode they are "almost" unstoppable.. What should they be called?
This join is none before it.. no longer a bonding, but a becoming.. a fusion that goes beyond the physical, beyond the molecular, to an irrevocable linking between host and symbiote.. enjoy the climax * i have made some changes to this drawing*
I got this done at Boston Com Con Done by the same person that did this for me awile back [link] it is my character from my fan fiction that I did I know there only white were the eys are but she is transfroming.Done by Enriquie Savory Jr.
As far as I know the first ever comic page featuring a She-Venom transforming from normal clothing into the Venom suit. Can't believe I hadn't had this done years ago.
Done by the great manic awhile ago.
Edit: Saw someone post this illegally (as in without my permission) on Comicvine and incorrectly label it as Ann Weying. It's not Weying, it's Mary Jane. The issue her outfit is from is Amazing Spiderman #339 if I remember right.
So yeah, screw off art thieves if you're not gonna get what you're stealing even labeled right.
The pre-cursor to the other MJ page showing the period when the alien joined to MJ in my little pseudo-story.... which takes place circa after Amazing Spiderman #333 but before Venoms reappearance in Amazing #345.
It's feasible and highly likely MJ was smoking during this period leading up to Peter finding out about it in Amazing #361, (and the subsequent storyline involving that bad-habit of hers that went on for a year or so afterwards).
