This is a collaboration with the supremely talented ~NullVoiD who sent me a render a while ago and gave me permission to do whatever I wanted. It's also a sorry for being so lame recently (as well as a merry Christmas!). My pc is still broken, but I managed to have enough spare time at work to make this over the last couple of days. Although the pc here is faster, I had to make do with version 7, none of my custom plugins, brushes, shapes, stock photos etc. which was a bit odd. So it's a sort of back to basics piece, but I enjoyed making it and hope you enjoy looking at it. Go check out null's gallery if you haven't already seen it and I hope to see you in the new year.

Original render here if you're interested.
The first of my releases for Depthcore pack 15 [Habitat] , go take a look at [link] (although there seem to be a couple of problems with the site at the moment - maybe it's having trouble coping with the 180+ submissions!).
This started off as an experiment with some new Photoshop techniques, just playing about with a photo of a car wing mirror, and went on to produce this and Chrysalis [coming soon]. I intend to write a tutorial about photoshop abstracting soon and its advantages (and disadvantages) compared to 3D abstract. In the meantime I'll have a bit of a rant in my journal, and sort out an update for my site... or something.
I was a bit bored so I started playing around with the photo of the car I used for my last piece and it became this. I enjoy making these 2d abstracts but never know how to finish them.. ah well. Oh and yes, the *eye* is back :}
Just noticed that because I did it in one sitting and photoshop is still open, I have a few snapshots with earlier versions of the piece. After I finish doing this I will string them together and upload so anyone who is interested can see the rubbish way I put this piece together
*EDIT* Here that guide thingy is: [link]
I think it is more for the curious as it doesn't contain enough info to be a walkthrough or anything :}

As the subtitle says, this piece here is not a complete piece of art yet. I am still thinking to add more. But I thnk it looks good now at the same time. If you have any suggestion please say it out cos that may be useful to me.
I actually want to have a breakthrough in this image bceause many pieces of abstract art are like white light on dark bg and now I want to do the opposite. I hope this white and bright design gives you some fresh ideas and look too.
VISIT DEPTHCORE 2nd BIRTHDAY PACK . EVOLUTION
It is truly a nice and new pack, and congras!!!
Reuploaded on 20th June: adjusted the colors and fixed some details. Also removed some lights.
It has been a long while since the fall of Idyll. The stories about this great nation have been forgotten and nobody knows what happened to the survivors of the war. Untill that one day...
The seven children of Idyll who survived the attack build their own nations in secret. Meanwhile, Aidan continued the attack on other nations. After 3 Eras of war, the seven nations were big enough to take on Aidan. Aidan would finally fell and a new Era of peace and harmony arrived...
The Making Of...
I decided to start of with a new style of abstract render type, combined with a bit of modeling (the rocks). After that was done I was quite amazed by the quality of it. I realy liked it and I had this vision in my head of how the final image would look. Well... It was something totally different from what it is now!
After I did some little lights on the render, I started brushing and I came up with some nice perspectives. I changed my plan and I decided to add spaceships to it. But there was the problem... I can't model! After about 3 hours of drawing and 6 hours of modeling these little fighters came out. I liked them and I decided to make some sort of battlefront. Then I decided to add a mothership to the piece and I started Cinema 4D again...
After aproximately 60 hours of Photoshop and Cinema 4D work this is what came out. I think the .psd file has around 400 layers and 30 sets. Maybe even more, I lost the count...
Well I never worked on anything like this before so this is totally new for me. A huge amount of layers containing brushing, lighting, renders or colors. I think I don't have to say much more about the looks, just take a look yourselfe.
This was never planned to become connected with Idyll's End. The story just floated in my mind today and I thought it fitted. Although the two pieces are totally different from eachother, I tried to connect them with eachother and I think I succeeded. Anyways, tell me what you think of it, I hope it was worth the waiting!
After a long walk through The Forest our little pelgrim finally got out of this dark place. Injured but still alive, he walks through The Crystal City Pass to his final destination... The Crystal City... Will he find what he has been searching for, shall he find the anwsers on all his questions?
Some people seem to forget that this piece is a collaborative artwork between *gokar and ~Exhale-NL. I would like it of *gokar also gets some attention so plz visit his site as well. Thanks.
The Crystal City Pass Finally it's here, the fourth piece in the Chronicles Series! It took so long to get an idea for the fourth piece and once I had the idea, I wasn't able to work it out... Then I asked my friend * gokar to do a collaboration with me and this is how it turned out... Way better than we both could think of and we hope that all the "fans" like this fourth Chronicles work. At least we had a lot of fun making it.
So big compliment to *gokar. It's incredible what a progress you made in such a short period. I'm glad to have you in my series! Bedankt m8 .
Also a big thanks from us to *snakeart. Without you this piece wouldn't have been a Chronicle... Bloemen komen volgende week wel .
