This is one of my older costumes that I could definitely improve upon now if I made it, but a lot of great memories came with it and I still love FF 10 and Lulu so much!

Construction wise, I would like to note that I took the liberty to add a personal touch to the original design. While making something accurately down to the last detail can be fun, it leaves little to no room for your own creativity. You will find details on my costume that give the design a little more depth and character. I used an awesome soft upholstery leather for the skirt and sleeves, and chose fabrics for the corset that would create texture together. The skirt and belts were the most difficult parts to work on, but the jewelry and hair accessories took me the longest to make. I did a lot of beading for this costume, and also hand-painted the lace and sewed them individually on, creating a pattern inspired by the original design.

I have had this Peacock costume idea for a long time before I saved enough money to buy the feathers and materials to make it in the summer of 2007.

I kept my eye out for any fabrics that could work with this theme and ended up going on a hunt in the LA fabric district for a two-toned taffeta. what I found was gorgeous, green on one side and purple on the other. In various light the fabric changed in the shades of green, cyan, blue and purple, matching the color scheme of a peacock eye feather perfectly.
I took some time sketching out silhouettes and where I wanted to used the feathers as embellishments. I ended up deciding sewing a custom patterned corset, a cropped jacket with wide sleeves and upstanding collar, and a fitted mermaid skirt that flared out at the knee. The skirt has a peacock tail attached to it in the back, in the folded up resting position. I went to a Nature Center to chase and photograph real life peacocks to gain the proper reference for how the feathers lay on the birds.
I used multiple kinds of peacock feathers for this costume - several hundreds of peacock tail feathers with eyes for my tail and throughout the outfit; a number of tail swords for the beaded belt and jacket collar; and multiple yards worth of thickly overlayed peacock herl for the fanned collar of my jacket and sleeves. Each eye feather was fitted with a green Swarowski crystal before attached as embellishments to the costume itself. I debated for a while what head-accessory to create, from a retro hat to crown to feather fan, and ended up sewing a tiny hat from a made-up pattern and adding feathers to it. My wig was an old wig that I restyled and curled... I hope to do something better in the future.

Theme: Tribute to Cleopatra

This was one of the most amazing photo shoot days... I shot with two photographer on the same day, from 10am to like 3am, and produced three of the best shots in my portfolio. It was everything from exciting, creative, exhausting, glamorous, painful and satisfying.
The shot above is by Dan Santoni, who is also responsible for the set. His lighting set up was insane - I stared into about 8 lights at the same time, it seemed.

"I want so much more than they've got plaaaanned!" etc etc.

XD!! Finally took pictures of this costume. It's been finished for months and months but I never had the opportunity to take pictures ^_^!! I wore this to the So-Cal cosplay gathering, and on the way home we drove past this field of yellow flowers and I squealed for Kyle to stop the car so that I could dash out of it and run up the field dramatic-Belle style. It was fun ^-^!!!

More to come soon on my site! [link]

This is a picture of my Belle costume from Beauty and the Beast.

The costume was made by me, the hair was styled by me, and the person in the photo is me.

Before my skirt was all blahh and weird looking at the bottom because I'm too tall and the petticoat I wore was too short X_X; so I did some altering of the petticoat and I think it came out looking a little better this time. Also I decided to corset myself so that I could have a little "umph" up top!

Costume Specs:

-yellow satin-back polyester shantung
-yellow satin acetate (bodice)
-wonderflex (hair accessory!)
-brown contact lenses
-gloves were hand dyed to match (kinda got them the right color!)

Photography was done by Kyle Johnsen from Cosplay.com. Photoshoot was in Balboa Park, San Diego.

I have finally a new costume! I'm so happy! ;o;
I dressed as Belle and took photos on Saturday. My cousin ~Jess30 took me and my friend Cinda to the place of the photoshoot. She brought her cool camera and snapped many photos. Cinda also took many photos! I have lots of photos to look at. x-x

I feel so proud of this dress. ;_; It was such, but such a pleasure to dress as Belle. She's my favorite Disney princess and it was my first Disney costume. Everyone who saw me in the street liked my dress and that made me feel truly happy. ♥

I didn't used wig this time, because me and Belle have both chestnut brown hair, so i was scared to style my own hair in the exact day of the photoshoot, but everything ended up looking good. I felt so relieved and happy with the result. The back part of my hair was done by my friend Cinda. It was impossible for me to do it alone correctly. ;__;

There's so many pictures of this photoshoot that i like! It's going to be hard to pick more. x___X

Hope you enjoy my costume everyone~!! ;O;

Surprise!
I made a Jasmine costume in order to go to disney's princess and pirates party (and get harassed by staff the entire time because my friends and I looked "too official")

****You are allowed to wear costumes to the park during this themed event. it is a costume party.

The fabric is my favorite part.. it has a netting layer over it with SPARKLES heehee.. so I leave them everywhere I go basically. I LOVE sparkling!
I'm really happy with my earrings and (albeit ghetto) necklace, and I LOVE the flower.

I do want to remake the head gem to make it larger and I want to actually style the wig (I just styled it when I put it on my head and it was a total rush job so it sucks!

Expect more photos!

Yes, I edited this photo and used smart blur on it to give it a kind of cartoony look!

I did a photoshoot last month in Midna, and I finally got all of the photos back from both photographers. It's going to be seriously hard to choose which to post.. because I just want to post them all Pikminlink and I got some amazing photos together too  Link x Midna OTP :3

If you check out consplayers.com and risingsun.net the photos are on there too.

I touched up this photo just a little bit- I changed the colors to look slightly more twilighty/in-game, I touched up my stomach makeup, and lightened the shadows around my eyes. Turns out, when your makeup just sits around for a year or so it comes off or cracks really easy the next time you try to put it on.. haha.

I know the title of this pic is probably gonna win like 500 awards or something... it's so original.

Anyway! My... almost complete Rapunzel costume!!
I know I know... I already have Alice and Tinkerbell... WHY RAPUNZEL?

Well I wanted to cover all disney female character aspects, Fairy, Un-Princess, and Princess. And Rapunzel had the best design... and personality by far so I needed to complete her!

The wig is a foam core with 5 packs of extensions wrapped around it... with one base wig.

The last picture of Rapunzel I'm going to be posting before I finish her!! I still have so much to do! *head desk!*

You can sort of see the wig snaking around the other side.. in a mess of over exposure... Oh well!
