this is an early design, painting of a character for my indie manga comic book. done almost 8months ago i think and has been updated and changed into a more refined and chiseled look these days. more posts of the new look in the near future. :) The main character's name is Eiji, beside him are Luna and Sara, that's all i can share for now, hopefully, you guys will have interest enough to follow his adventures and misadventures while i'm penning the book. took me about half a years time for me to finish a couple of chapters of the comicbook script with the help of my dear friend Macoy.Hope you guys like the piece. Thanks! :)

Copyright 2007 AEG, but used with permission (as part of Artist's portfolio and promotion--and allowed to make and sell prints). For the LEGEND OF FIVE RINGS CCG.

This art was created using traditional methods (well, on Illustration board, anyway, using airbrush, colored pencils, acrylic inks and paint). THERE IS SOME DIGITAL TOUCH-UP IN PHOTOSHOP, but it's at least 80% a painted original with 10% digital touch up.

This is a digital painting done in photoshop over a scan of a rough sketch done in pencil. It was published as a part of the Warlord trading card game. The elves in Warlord are different than traditional elves--they don't have pointy ears, but rather have boney ridges over their eyes and going around towards their ears so that they can sometimes seem to have pointed ears. They tend to be rather nasty. They use bone-shaped motifs in their armor and weapon designs. (c)2004-AEG: Artist has the right to use for personal promotion.

Software: Photoshop
Published: Copyright belongs to Alderac Entertainment Group--it is used by contractural agreement by the artist for promo/portfolio.
Commissioned: For the Warlord collectible card game.

I usually work traditionally when I want an original. I've done card game art for ten years--but I've also done 2D and 3D work for computer games during the same period. I used to keep the two very separate--working digitally only for computer games. But airbrushing with friskets is a bit of a chore sometimes, so I've begun sneaking in a few digital pieces into my card game work. This is one of my first pieces that I painted digitally. I must admit that there is a bit of photo-manip in there: the moon. I did this quickly--maybe in three or four hours, not counting the sketch stage. Everything is a bit crude, given my rush for the deadline and my inexperience in painting full pictures (I've painted textures for low-poly models, but that's different, somehow!). Hopefully, one day I'll be able to do a more complex and finished digitally painted piece.

A card illustration done for Phoenix Interactive and their CCG named Warlord. It's supposed to be viewed a lot smaller than you see in full scale, and the bottom half is mostly covered by a transparent box and text.

Paintings guys is good exercise, but not I am starting to grow tired of painting beard and body hair, so I guess my next piece will be more feminine. This is a "portrait" of a friend of mine named Trond. Painted from scratch during a few evenings using Photoshop with a tablet.
Painted august 2005.

This one is one of the new cards especially for the Warlord Learn 2 Play kit.
Was fun to do this action piece...the knife on the right needs a bit of a turn though. :)
