for those who know the twilight books you will certanely know who Edward is...anyway I was inspired by the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I tried to capture that particular smile Edward has sometimes...and I wanted to make him a little shady... the drawing is not yet finished...but I love it already!
the model is Mathias Lauridsen [link] finally I've found the image I took it from, so from now on please don't ask me "is he...?" yes he is
a personal interpretation of Jacob Black from Stephenie Meyer's novel Twilight. I tried to imagine the first meeting between Jacob and Bella, during her trip to La Push with her friends... I also wanted to express the emotion Jacob inspires to Bella as she describes him "his personal sun" so I tried to make him warm, and also very human. Bella always feel better when Jacob's around so I wanted to make him smile. hope you like it
-a scene from Eclipse- well it isn't an actual scene of the novel, but how I imagined it, and it represents Jacob and Bella's last talk in Eclipse. I love this book, and one of the reasons i love it is because of the sad ending (for Jacob at least) it makes the book so romantic! the songs i listened to were: when you love someone (Brian adams) and the power of goodbye (Madonna).
a scene from New Moon. Edward and Bella are coming back home from Volterra. I wanted to represent a very private moment, with Bella thinking "I don't want to miss a single moment of this" and Edward concentrated on his thoughts. to enjoy best this drawing I suggest to watch it while listening to Here with me by Dido to understand Bella's thoughts, and The scientist by Coldplay for Edward's point of view. for this drawing I UPLOADED A COMPLETE TUTORIAL ON MY GALLERY
It was very hard to find the right Bella, but then finally I found her. I understood that my perspective was wrong, I had to see her with Edward's eyes and so finally I did. she came to life also thanks to a beautiful song by Damien Rice wich I think could have been sang by Edward. here's the lyrics: SAND keep me in a glass jar sealed with a label, you think you know my world. wake up young girl and take a thrust of lust if you must now, you've got a lot to learn, yeah my love, my life, my work my time, I give'em all to you your hand in mine, we walk we talk in rime we go the all night through
I'm not a grain of sand I don't care what's written in your hand it's about to change
sore bored, and I'm lost cost cold, getting older wrap it up rip it up now have it sold I'm a grower any more, any more, any more any more... I wanna be with you just wanna be with you
but you tease me and it shows in the way that you play you think you know my love wake up young girl and take a taste not a bite of life now can tell you never come, yeah well
my will, my mind my lips, my lines I've got them all over you
you taste combined with all those years of wasting time, I've gotta hold on something new. I'm not a grain of sand I don't care what's written in your hand 'cause it's about to change
sore, bored, and I'm lost cost cold getting older buy the book, rip it up now have it sold, I'm a grower any more, any more, any more any more... I wanna be with you just wanna be with you. I don't wanna pray for what is not right and I don't wanna beg for what is not mine. I don't wanna rock the road between dreams and wordly things I could charge, and I could really try but I don't want to be the brave one in a senseless fight I,I,I just wanna be here tonight RIT RIT you keep me in a glass jar sealed with a label you think you know my world. wake up young girl.
The two figures here were meant to be Edward and Bella, but they can also be two lovers in a park. of course I had a reference, even if I changed, as usual, some details. what I really love about this drawing is the emotional intensity the scene describes. I called it "scent of you" because Edward is represented while smelling Bella's scent, and in his face is described all the intensity of is love and also the pain he feels standing close to her. it is almost possible to guess what their thoughts are. music in this case has been very useful, the songs I chose are a sort of extension of the drawing. for Bella's thoughts I listened to "stranger" by Elisa and for Edwards "cannonball" by Damien Rice. to describe the entire scene I then chose "from where I am" by Enya, a beautiful piano song which I think suits the atmosphere perfectly. I hope you like it .
