Deep in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens rests a beautiful location known as Batsto Village. The site of a former bog iron and glass-making industrial center used from 1766 to 1867. Currently, it reflects the agricultural and commercial enterprises that existed at the site in the late 19th century. "Batsto" is derived from the Swedish word "Batstu", meaning "bathing place". It's believed that its original residents (the Lenni Lenape Indians) borrowed the term as old deeds of the area mention an "Indian Batstu".
This is a painting I did based from the region in World of Warcraft, also called "The Eastern Plaguelands". It's loosely based off of the Light's Hope Chapel from the game. I did this in a couple of weeks in a frantic effort to get it into the graduating art show at the McClarin Art Centre, and it made it in, so I was happy ^_^
This is Mona if you guys remember her. I participated in a vow of silence my school had a few weeks back. We were trying to raise awareness and understanding about kids who get bullied but don't say anything about it. It was a lot of fun and it felt nice to be part of something cool like that . I lasted the whole 6 hours without saying a single word too ;D. Anyway, we had to wear these stickers that told people we were doing the vow, that's the backdrop in the picture. No other explanation, I just randomly wanted to draw this.
