Full MoonPale light brightens the beaten path
Taken so many times in the past
Where one set of paws crush the leaves
Marking this land his territory, his home
Now the monthly run has come
Wolf is jumping out of the skin
A suit made of flesh and human bone
Wolf is ready to run on this full moon night
It always starts with a subtle itch
But leads to a burn, a passion of fire
Bright enough to melt and reshape
The bones and humanity of his form
Claws sprout from rounded fingernails
Ears stretch and perk straight up
As a long and profound muzzle appears
Slowly being covered in light brown fur
A groan of pain slips from his lupine formed maw
As his transformation makes its completion
Yellow amber eyes, a black leather nose
A bushy brown tail and hard padded paws
Again he was whole, wild, ready to be free

With eyes of amber,
Which hold fallen stars,
And that reflect the moon's glow.
I am the Inferno wolf.
With my fiery heart,
That burns for a mate.
And the passion to run free.
I am the Aquatic wolf.
With my liquid movements,
That help calm my pack,
In times of confusion and pain.
I am the Wooded wolf.
With my pine needle fur,
That stands on end in fury,
When danger threatens my pack.
I am the Aero wolf.
With my bone chilling growls,
And my light hearted howls,
That reach even the heavens in the sky.
I am the Earthen wolf.
With my sand paper paws,
That help me grip,
And rip into the earth when I run.
I am the Elemental wolf.
Though I may seem strange,
With all my forms,
I am actually one.
With one heart,
I am the wolf.

I see the world for what it truly is.
The pain, the suffering,
And even the malice that fills the void.
I don't understand how my human,
How my other half, can stand them.
With their selfish wants,
And their furless bodies,
It amazes me how he can walk among them,
And not quiver at their strangeness.
But maybe it's me who's strange…
The one who might not fit.
I hide in the fabric of his soul,
Forever watching the world,
And waiting for another who is just like us,
Another who can understand…
Though my time does get lonely,
I often enjoy giving my human things,
That remind him of what he truly is,
Something that few can ever obtain.
I give him my own sight.
I let him run through the trees,
And let him feel the wind through my fur,
I even give him the thrill of chasing a deer.
Though these are mere illusions,
They are still as strong as the day I saw them,
Through my two golden orbs.
And one day soon,
One day very soon…
I hope that he and I can s
Wolfen SoulI have never wanted to howl,Wolfen Soul9 years ago in Urban & Spoken Word More Like This
So badly as I do now.
I can feel the tightening in my chest,
My maw raising toward the sky,
Flattening my ears,
And singing to the moon
To my brothers and sisters,
To my soul that lives out in the forest.
All of it.
I want to drink in the air,
As it swirls around me,
I want to growl, play and bark,
At my pack who live around me.
I just want to be freed,
Of this retched life.
I want to wag my tail
And feel the soil between my paws.
Most of all, I want to howl,
I want to sing my soul for all to hear.
I just want to be free,
To be free in the wild.
Yet I am forced to hold back the feeling.
The tears welling up in my eyes,
Slowly fall down my muzzle.
I dont know if Im happy or sad,
But now I can feel myself calming down.
The feeling has been released for now,
But until it happens again, I will howl for you,
And the life that awaits in the deep green forests,
Of my heart and soul.
*flattens ears and howls*
Werewolf PleaOh great motherWerewolf Plea8 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Night be your brother
Hear my plea
Make a wolf of me!
Grant me paws
Sharp talons and claws
Grant me a pelt
Only the sun can melt
Grant me fangs
Pointed that hang
Grant me eyes
Sharp that cut through lies
Grant me a howl
A powerful growl
Grant me a tail
One that will not fail
Heres where I stand
Over this great land
Wild and free
This is my true destiny
RunCan you feel it,Run9 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
That strange tingling sensation?
It starts in your paws,
And climbs through your body,
Like a bird soaring through the sky.
This energy, this feeling,
What does it beckon you to do?
Play? Howl? Or even fight?
No its something different
It urges you to run.
Run through the trees,
The flowers and the streams.
Let the crisp cool wind,
Play with your fur,
And make you fly.
Just close your eyes,
And run with me.
Let go of your fears,
Let go of your worries,
And just run with me,
Into the heart of the forest.
Let us run to the peaks,
Of red rusted mountains,
And sing for our luck,
To be wolves,
And to be free,
Let us run.

He could see no hidden lies
The love he felt for her was true
Just like her brightened hue
Without thought or even mind
He didnt know hed be intertwined
With a wolf as loving as this
Soft fur and gentle licking kiss
His tail would wag gently by
And his ears would perk very high
As the sound of her voice had carried fate
He knew she was meant to be his loving mate
Together as one but two just the same
Their love would always be a giant flame
He felt it in his heart and so did she
They both would howl in happy glee
Mates for life, mates forever
They would make it their endeavor
To be happy and to howl as one
Even after both their lives were done.

Over a form thats clear
With a tail of silky fur
Curled between human legs
A muzzle that seems to glow
Created from a rounded face
Domesticated and brimming with thought
But also hiding feral dreams
The pain filled inside
From a cage that seems to shrink
No family to ease away the pain
No one to lend a willing ear
Leaning by the window's pane
Looking up at the moon in the sky
Wishing for something more
To escape from the world of man
Feeling the familiar aching throat
And the skin tingling sensation
Limbs that shouldnt be
Given life and something new
So close to being whole again
Changing into nature, running free
Away from the hell of steel and iron
Into a paradise made of wood and dreams
Pack LetterSecret (Adjective): [ Something ] done, made, or conducted without the knowledge of others.Pack Letter4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Everyone has a secret.
Something kept tucked away in the corner of our minds. Things we are ashamed of, things that we shouldn't know or things that we did. Even hiding ones true self from the world for fear of being ridiculed or worse. We all hide things of varying degrees for different reasons.
I hide my secret because it could get me killed.
I wouldn't say I'm anything out of the ordinary. Light brown eyes, darker brown hair, 6 feet tall, average weight, did well in school, friendly to others. I sound like a normal person with not many things to hide, which is true, if you exclude the fact that I'm a werewolf.
I know. I know. It sounds crazy or at least funny from a scientific point of view. A werewolf? Really?
Yeah. A werewolf.
A quadruped wolf with the instincts of a wild, meat eating carnivore and the intelligence of a human being. Something that could easily hunt

Protected and safe
From the elements that erode
I just want to run
With my own hardened pads
Feeling the earth between my paws
Being one with this land
I just want to hunt
With my own tooth and fang
Tasting the sweet nectar
Of a long awaited hunger
I just want to howl
With my own strength and power
And feel the release
Of what I feel inside
I just want to curl together
With my brothers and sisters
In a heap of furry limbs
And feel loved all the same
The ideas whirled around
In the darkness of my mind
Until I awoke the very next day
With the yearning to howl

The howl is welling up
This time it cant be stopped
Shaking its little wood frame
This howl is coming out
Up to the sky and moon
It will be heard by all
No longer will I sit back and watch
No longer will I be struck down
I will fight back
I will find my light and freedom
Your chains can no longer hold me
Your box can no longer contain me
My wild spirit is uncontrollable
And its the way things should be

Neglectful HellFrom the depths of hell they cameNeglectful Hell8 years ago in Spoken Word More Like This
Faceless beings able to worm inside
The place of love and warmth
Just to suck it bloodlessly dry
Most who fall victim to this species of neglect
Are often those who want to willingly love
Showing more for others than themselves
They eventually collapse on the inside
Empty of the heart and will for their soul
Why do these pure and noble souls
Feed the monstrosity known as neglect?
Letting them fester, grow into something worse
Consuming its host painfully slow greedily
Why do they willingly place themselves
In such a burning hell that could kill them?
I have yet to answer my own behavior.

Tears streaming from his ice blue eyes
Staining his brilliant white coat
And dripping to the thirsty earth below
He howled out his broken heart
Feeling it beat under pressure
For the loss of his closest friend
And his mate he once held dear
She was his beating heart,
His soul and mind together
She made him feel whole
But now she was gone forever
Or so he solemnly thought
Everything that was her forever to the end
Was part of his lone felt being
Her kindness, her warmth, her smile
Her laugh, her mind, her heart and her soul
Forever she would look down upon him
Somewhere high in that dark blue sky
Wishing for him to be happy once again
Wishing to see him smile joyfully
I will always be with you
Whether you know it or not
Holding your paw tight
And guiding you back to the light
I love you Rudi

Spilling my sorrow upon the stars

Jumping over rocks
Climbing mountains and hills
Resting with a pack
The power to be wild
Trapped by this body and limitations
How sickening it is
But a truth we all must endure
The WolfI am the wolf,The Wolf4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The ruler of the north,
The proud, the noble, and the truthful,
My kind won't lead you to anything less than fruitful.
Queen of the northern lights,
Queen of the northern nights,
I live for the winter and the cold,
A story that has never been told.
I am strong and swift,
I run through the Alaskan snow drifts,
But I'm also smart and wise.
Nothing can take me by surprise.
To man, I may be a dog,
But that can change in the icy fog,
My howl cuts through the night,
And causes the poor man fright.
Don't be alarmed,
I don't mean you any harm,
Unless you dare tread into my pack
Showing me the intellect you lack.
I can take down a deer with ease,
Smell a herd of prey on a breeze,
Outsmart a bear for an easy meal,
And make the other animals kneel.
I am the wolf,
The ruler of the north,
My pack will continue to defend,
And my reign will never end.

The urge to hunt, to play, to run
All coursing through your veins
As you howl to the moon
And the animal that resides within your soul

Everything will be ok
As long as you keep it cool
Howl it to the moon

If you display your fangs courageously,

I saw it in a pair of amber eyes
Full of sorrow and understanding
I saw the true me that day
In the swiftness of running
On four feet instead of two
Claws and teeth ferocious
As well as kind
I found my true name
In the warm grey fur
Hard and stiff like rocks
Yet soft like velvet
I saw how wonderous the wild is
In song, and soft moss bedding
To work as a team, and to love
I found myself that day
I was lost and blind before
I found myself in the eyes
The eyes of a wolf
He showed me the path
That was hidden
The magic of living again
Not dying, if not for him
I would be dead
I shall never forget that wolf
Who saved my life
Who showed me my true self
My true name
And who to trust it with

In the bitterness of the storm,
I sit here, alone and cold.
My fur, a gift from the gods,
Seems to no longer warm my body.
Soon my paws grow heavy and limp,
As the frigid snow steals their warmth.
I look to the sky and the moon that hangs,
To sing my final goodbye,
For I know I will not last the night,
Against Mother Nature's barrage of ice and snow.
My body grows even colder,
As the snow slowly builds in my fur.
I look one last time at the world around me,
And wish for a different end.
Suddenly I am surrounded by warming fur.
Slowly my eyes open as my body begins to flow,
And there, laying on either of my sides,
Are my brothers, my kin, my family, my pack.
A soft half hearted growl escapes my muzzle,
As I bare fangs to my brothers.
They only snuggle closer,
Ignoring my threat-less growls.
I didn't want their help,
To share my pain,
My cold numbing feelings,
They didn't have too.
