Easy Photoshot TutorialsI've always loved to photomanipulate with Photoshop, and one thing that got me going were tutorials I found on the net.Easy Photoshot Tutorials3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Recently I've been having many requests to create a tutorial on how to do this or how to do that, so I decided to write down a few easy Photoshop tutorials and post them here on DA.
I'd like to share with you some of them and would like to know what you think of it. Should I continue, what could I do to improve in my next tutorials? Do you have any requests to make for a future tutorial?
Anyways, here goes some of my latest tutorial and I hope you like them.

The Artist's Toolbox: TypographyFor more info on this week, please refer to The Artists Toolbox - Schedule at projecteducateThe Artist's Toolbox: Typography2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
In this toolbox you will find helpful tips for digital typography. For those of you new to the topic, let's start with a short explanation
Typography is the art and technique of arranging type in order to make language visible.
Pretty simple, eh? Basically as you are reading this you are "reading typography". What I will refer to in this article is digital artistic typography, though. This is not the everday typography you see on street signs, books or on websites.
It can be anything! Which is amazing and scary at the same time
Here's a little overview of this article:

Photomanipulation walkthroughStep 1: Idea (message, composition)Photomanipulation walkthrough3 years ago in Personal More Like This
You decided that you want to make a photomanipulation. But what to make? There are so many photomanipulations already out there and mostly with the same theme. So you decide you don't just want to stick a pretty girl onto a beautiful background. No you want to be original and have your manipulation portray a message everyone can relate to.
Think of things that are important to you, that lay close to your heart. They can be emotions (love, hate, sadness, anger) or experiences, hobbies (art, sports etc), things you are struggling with. Or they can be global themes like (beauty, money, economy, eating disorders, war, relationships etc.)
Of course if you choose to portray something as love there are many ways to do so. Do you want it to be a surreal depiction of love, or dark, fantasy, sci-fi, conceptual, humourous... your choice will of course decide the whole 'feel' of the image.
So choose wisely as they say.
Now that you have your theme you nee

Serif — Roman
In the last two article of the type design series we made a geometric sans serif and added italics and a bold weight. The geometric sans serif is the easiest style to do, but for me personally things really get interesting with serif typefaces. Of course there is the addition of serifs, but the structure and weight distribution is also much more advanced. In this article I will make an introduction to designing serif typefaces. This article won’t be as detailed as the previous ones because this third article serves as an expansion on the first two. In other words, I won’t get into the basic vector tools or type principles, nor will I show you how to design the letters step by step. I will explain techniques in detail when necessary, but generally I will refer to the techniques described in the first article particularly. So if necessary go back to the pre

Why it's important to put a disclaimer in art descEDIT: HI Please don't reply to the original comment unless you have serious inquiries. And if you do be mindful to be polite! U v U But this is specific to their case (though if it happens once it has to happen more than once) so I find value in warning others. DA does take the images down when reported most of the time without the disclaimer but it really can't hurt and it gives them less excuses to not carry through with your report. Thank you!Why it's important to put a disclaimer in art desc2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Wow, so up till today I always found the "Please don't trace, redistribute, copy etc" was unnecessary in a lot of comments since people are going to do what they're going to do no matter what right? But wow lo and behold I found this comment in the disqus section of Artist Confessions. Basically what it's saying is due to DA's rules if the artist doesn't say to not trace then they cannot penalize reported tracers. At least that's what I'm drawing from

Before we start, I think it's important to keep in mind that drawing manga pages is a very demanding task that requires a lot of time but also, a lot of knowledge in many aspects of illustration such as general drawing, perspectives, anatomy... but it also requires writing skills, for you will need to come up with an interesting plot, dialogue, narrative and more things that will guarantee that your storytelling will go hand in hand with the art in each page. This might seem complicated, but don't fret It is a very fun and rewarding experience that no one should miss! Give it your best shot!
Brief summary of steps to create a manga
Write down your ideas! Polish the plot, analyze the time-space continuum, make sure the idea is exciting and doesn't have plot-holes.

Oh, many people asked for it, so, I'll do ~ i hope that it'll be good, because I'm not good with explanations.
Which the program that I use?
Gimp 2.8 (you can download it in the site, it's free! http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ )
But you can use Photoshop too, because GIMP looks like with Photoshop, but it's free, more simple and more "light".
I'll explain of a mode that is possible make in Photoshop or GIMP, not much detailed, I wait that you know the basic of the program.
Ah! Have many many patience >//<
The images about what I saying are in the right of the text.
Start with a document of size 100x100 px.
And create a "border" (in other layer) with the size 50x50 so you know that your pixel art is in the size correct.

how to change the colors in the journal
To change the colors of the journal, change the codes that look like this "#A6B2A6" this is a color code. two first are Red values, two middle ones are green values, and the last two are blue values. RGB.
If you make everyone of them the same letter or number you will get grey.
000000 = Black

FF0000 = Red
00FF00 = green
0000FF = Blue

MonikaOkay I try to write down my cat Monika's story for people who want to know more about her.Monika5 years ago in Personal More Like This
Monika was very little when she arrived to my life.
My parents and their colleague waited at the bus stop to go to work. There was a storm, it rained very hard and a little kitten appeared at the bus stop. She was Monika. She was wet from the rain and she meowed very loud and followed the people who standed at the stop.
My parent's colleague was the one who felt sorry for the little kitty and put her in her bag saying maybe they can find somebody at the workplace who will adopt the poor little kritten.
So she brought Monika to the workplace, closed her in a room and asked some people if they can adopt her. She was there all the day and waited somebody to come. Then nobody wanted to bring her home. The woman spoke with my parents to bring home the cat for me, because I found home for around 60 cats in my life. And they brought home her.
My parents comed to my room and put Monika in my hands. I can

The rest of the linearts can be found here http://terasullen.deviantart.com/gallery/36545076 , if you want to check out if your art may be there or not. As of this point I have nothing else to do with this person and I don't want to talk to him/her again (never heard a response from them, but at least I got my point across and they deleted the art. Still, I was expecting some sort of an appology and that they have learnt not to do it again, but... yeah. Some people are just like that.)
And so, I'm gonna keep this here anyway.
So I don't forget.
Adding a prnt scrn 'cause I'm just a bitch like that.
Quick word about Online Classes (not so quick...)What's shakin', dearhearts?Quick word about Online Classes (not so quick...)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
As my most recent poll indicates, I'll be offering some online courses soon.
I'll post here and through my social networks when they're available.
It seems digital painting is an interest most hold. Considering the poll only allows for one choice, though, feel free to sound off in the journal comments about anything else you'd like me to teach.
Note regarding the courses:
I'm working out how many weeks they'll be, but it seems I can take on a subject and add modules as long and often as I see fit. Payment for each course will be up front, and content will be added as we go along.
I might also create some that are free, lower in cost, or filled with content from the get-go.
It's all a bit of experimenting.
In short, the price will range from $40-150, at this time. Hours of content will range from 2.5-10+ --> This may change a lot.
I'll see how the first few go, and offer what I can at different values.
This isn't just me offering tutorials (but I am doing tha

A.k.a. "That beautiful detailed flowery art style".
Art Nouveau is an art movement that was most popular between 1890 and 1910. It originated in England and France, where it spread over the last two decades of the 19th century. The origins in each respective country vary though. For example, the German "Jugendstil" was first used 1897 as criticism against cheap mass production of works from artists like Henry van de Velde. Art Nouveau was by far no consistent art movement; there were several geographical differences, although some basic characteristics stayed the same. Those key features are decorative curves and flowery elements.
All in all "Art Nouveau" constisted of divergent art movements in Europe.
