More people chose this one as their favorite in the whole show. As always, this one is not MY favorite but that's the way art works. Your audience never likes what you like,

Sigh,

The City of Braxus is located on the planet Denicon, 800 million light years from the planet earth.

Built on the petrified remains of a giant space octopus (species unknown), Braxus is widely known as the "Jewel of Spundool", which has no real significance to anything due to the fact that no one remembers who or what Spundool was. Some speculate Spundool was a vast interplanetary kingdom that thrived many millions of years ago, while other schools of thought suggest that Spundool was just some rich bloke who was very well connected and liked the sound of his own name.

Throughout the millennia many species have occupied Braxus. How many is impossible to guess, but nearly all have in some way left their mark, by either building something new or blowing up something that used to belong to someone else. Some have adapted well enough to the city without hurting much, while others feel the need to change everything they come across in order to make it just like them. For example, when the Brimitans were victorious over the Jarooth in the War of Justified Liberation (a war started by the Brimitans, an extremely religious and dogmatic species who, quite frankly, never learned to mind their own business) they took control over Braxus and immediately altered or tore down every structure built by the Jarooth claiming the buildings were "insulting and suggestive". Although, the truth of the matter was that the Jarooth had no conventional reproductive organs, therefore they had absolutely no idea what a "phallus" was and had no intention of suggesting anything to anyone. Indeed, they were quite surprised when someone declared war on them just because they liked to build towers with domes on the tops of them.

Braxus is massive. Too massive, in fact, to be accurately photographed (or painted). No matter how high a vantage point you may have, you cannot see the end of it (unless you are, of course in orbit, in which case you'd be so high up you couldn't make out anything on the ground anyway). It would be like trying to see Ohio from the top of the Empire State Building.

Mixed media on 1" particle board. Measures nearly 5ft x 3ft.

Just had a wild hair to paint the Iron Giant. I might throw a background on him later.
