Dream me a memory..Most of us don't live our life, we barely exist.Dream me a memory..1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
How sad to think that one day it will over, finished, no more !
I am giving myself a memory day.
To gather what I can remember, the happy and the sad.
I have come to realize that our memories are not formed from what we experience as such, but with what we are told and have seen in forms of pictures and snippets of our imagination, fueled with what we really wanted them to be like.
I remember my first party dress.
It was a shade of pink frosting, and the over-abundant frills had me feeling like I was floating on a cloud.
Many years later as I took it from its weathered box in the attic, the frills were less copious and the shade of pink was faded and unremarkable, but still it had me feeling as if I was 5 years old again, twirling in the summer sun, reveling in my first taste of ice-cream.
Rewinding feelings of decadence and the sharpness of that cold and sweet and every mouthful I have had since, is as savored and treasured
Forgotten..Too much: I say..Forgotten..2 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
I do forget.
My memories gone:
filled with regret.
Where once I stood,
now weeds do grow,
as time moved fast,
now seems too slow.
My breath once warm,
now cold as ice,
A love once had,
at any price.
Of eyes so bright,
now dull with age,
A life now written,
upon this page.
Cast me not aside,
and remember still,
this woman lost,
against her will.

it rusts over time.
you run on steam and engines, bronze lungs and copper veins.
that rhythmic hungry beat has burrowed
deep inside your chest and minute hands serve
as a persistent memory.
you're untouchable, petrified.
barely even there.
Fade Apartwhen did it become so hardFade Apart3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
for me to talk to you?
where did we go?
when did we fade apart?
slow disipation of our hearts
as we break away
eroding into seclusion
like smiling strangers
grasping the illusion
how did we die?
falling into this
with a broken beat
as we sink
gasping out lies
to reclaim our lives
to heal this
seperation of face and soul
apart we're whole
just let me fall away
shed like wounded skin
disintegrate beneath your feet
for i was never yours

Today again will pass us by
You only behold the sky
To catch a break, to touch that special flower
To ignore that hiding hand of hour
Though destiny's whisper is so unclear
There is nothing here to fear
Another year, another day
Another remnant of your soul, the price you pay
For living, for dying, this cycle so dull
For what purpose, a spirit so full?
We may lie to ourselves to get through daylight's task
To maintain a peace we might choose and wear a beautiful mask
One day you will not have to indulge in lies
Is when together to freedom our soul flies
Please don't let go of my hand
And I promise to help you understand
Although my efforts cannot save you alone
I refuse to leave you out there on your own

beyond the lawn.
it's over now. . .
the family that I lost
was really no group
but seperate enities
on the grass;
with no picnic. . . no sunshine.
the warmth upon our cheeks,
running then smudged.
with wondering at our loss.
the gift of normalcy
& we never even knew.
it's all over now. . .
even the residue is gentle,
desperate to belong.
necessity of recognizing. . .
keeps me company
most always, now.

I met someone...
he has brown eyes just like yours -
Dark, fathomless, mysterious.
I knew him before I even met him.
He was just like you and yet
he was everything that you were not...
I got to know him,
a change from you and I,
He laughs at my jokes, and smiles
at my insanity.
He's kindness in the extreme.
He cries when I do,
and doesn't make fun of my sensitivity.
Is there a stronger word besides "love"
to say how I feel for him?
He's tender where you would have been unyielding...
He's strong where you would have fallen apart...
He's what you might have been to me
if we had really been in love.

And put it on a shelf
High above all else
Where no one can see
I wish it would stop
Filling to the brink every night
With love as sweet as poison
Waxing till first light
I wish it wouldn't leap
Every time I hear you name
Catch your scent in the air
For all these sighs,
is it my heart to blame

Such words of love and devotion
But you my sweet darling
Are my elixir and strong potion
You are my strength when I am weak
My protection from the storms
The intoxication that fills me
As a deeper love is formed
My senses are overwhelmed
Every time that you are near
There is no where else Id rather be
Then laying with you here
I dont love you for your perfection
I find the beauty in your flaws
You are my only desire and love
I will always answer when your heart calls
Your touch is nothing short
Of the greatest feeling I have ever known
The love displayed in your eyes
Is all that I need to be shown
I adore your every movement
As I treasure every smile on your lips
With each kiss bestowed upon me
I feel my heart leap and skip
I cherish you deep within my soul
And bask in every second spent together
It is in your heart that I found my heaven
And it is there that I wish to remain forever
Measure Of A MiracleHer sigh was as soft as a breath in the nightMeasure Of A Miracle5 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
poignantly enhanced as shed tears in moonlight
Shimmering incandescence a mere underscore
surrendered bitterly for a love that is no more
Arms that ache with the memory of a thousand embraces
and lips that knew no forbidden places
Of laughter like music on a mischevious wind
a passion worthy to resolutely defend
The delving of these emotions
this revealing of deep devotions
A steep tithe of her debt
but no cost to her wealth of regret
Her stout heart grief will not destroy
for every tear of sorrow, she sheds two for joy
To spite the plans fate apathetically plotted
measuring the miracle in that brief time allotted
Simple language is just too pale
all these words miserably fail
Shamefully they come not close
to this love so grandly verbose
Yet the tablet of her heart is full
and she has learned not to resist its pull
Painfully the attempt must be made
lest loves' memory is suborned to fade.

To speak the truth I hold inside,
For words get caught before my lips,
And stay within so they can hide.
Where sounds arent formed, emotions lie,
Behind a bubbly face they sit,
I laugh with joy, forget all things,
I do not show one little bit.
To gain my trust is no mean feat,
For you must prove yourself as well,
To know my thoughts, you have these words,
There isnt much I need to tell.
I shall not speak when you should know,
For in these words, my feelings flow

A silver shaft of light breaks through the black
and casts a shade of gray across the sky.
Then periwinkle blue begins to crack
the darkness of the night that has gone by.
And as the day goes on, the hues grow bold-
from light to brighter blue with wisps of white.
Dramatic is the sky, outlined in gold;
A luminescent picture shining bright.
Then darker, royal tones begins to merge,
with burning flames of purple, orange and pink.
The fire blazes in a brilliant surge,
and pushes fading daylight to the brink.
Then silently the flames burn down and die.
As, once again, the blackness claims the sky.

Watching you suffer,
I feel knots tying further.
Within my heart, where you have never been,
Is a heart, that cares beyond your dreams.
I long to tell you, the gorgeousness,
Sweet, love, doesn't always end in bitterness.
Yes, it's true, don't cry yourself to sleep,
For I have that heart of love, and a hand for you to hold.

I gave myself to you in love
in the darkness of the night.
You held me close and tenderly
until the sign of light.
I gave myself to you again,
it was better than before.
And every time I gave again
it made me love you more.
But then you gave yourself away
to someone who wasnt me.
To see you holding her so close
brought back those memories
Remember how you held me close
in the darkness of the night?
Remember how we stayed that way
until the sign of light?
Remember every time we met?
It was better than before?
I remember, if you dont,
and that hurts me even more.
I want to say these things to you
but Im afraid of what youll say.
I gave myself to you in love.
Remember? You threw it all away

One feels sort of stretched,
reaching for the object of one's desire
but never really getting there
and it hurts in a way that is just unique for longing
There is something typical about sadness, right?
One feels sort of crushed,
Smashed into oneself, bruised
Never really getting out of it
And it hurts in a way that is just unique for sadness
There is something quite typical about joy, right?
One feels kind of floating,
Flying above oneself, elated
Never really touching the ground
And it makes one soar high in a way that is totally unique for happiness
There is something typical about love, right?
One longs, and feels sad and one floats,
All at the same time
Never really settling for one sole emotion
And it hits a person in a way that is totally unique
The difference between dawn and duskWhat is the difference between dawn and dusk? The difference between dawn and dusk7 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
Both have inky blue skies with streaks
of mother of pearl in soft pinks and apricot
like disembodied vulnerability breaking through
to enchant the souls of artists and angels
and all lost souls drowned in sorrow
And sad I am when I look at yet another dawn
when you have to leave those crumpled sheets
where the form of your warm body still calls out to me
and I can remember so vividly how we were
both covered with a sheen of our exertions
glistening like newborn stars
From this point on, my love, it will be
a very long hike till it is dusk again and
you can join me in my welcoming bed
to make love under the pale moon
For now i roam in a city of mist
missing half of my soul
dragging loss in my wake
oh yes, there certainly is a great difference
between dawn and dusk
it is the cruel difference of having you near me
or losing you to your world
May the next dawn never come
All I need is eternal dusk
All I crave is some peace for my h
