It's that time of year again! Welcome one and all to PPG-Horror's annual Halloween Contest!! :iconevilgrin2plz:
Halloween: the time of year where kids and thrill-seeking individuals dress up as their favourite character or monster for the fun of the holiday. Year after year they dress up in costumes, aiming to be the best, the most detailed, the most authentic, the most gruesome, just for the candy rewarded to those who succeed in causing a fright.
It's all harmless fun--people trust each other and are generous with their tricks or treats; after all, they know that beneath that scary mask, there is no monster, no witch. Just another Halloween-goer looking for sweets.
But what if, in 2014, that wasn't the case?
What if, behind that mask, was not a child... but a monste

To Love a PattyYeah, the sound cuts out at one point. Squidward essentially wonders how Spongebob could have ever gotten a date, despite suggesting that he take the patty on a date earlierTo Love a Patty4 months ago in Personal More Like This
Does the song go on too long? Maybe. I don't know if I was trying to be funny or sad, all I know is that if I didn't use the song I would have been complaining for a lot longer. I mean... a lot longer. It's one of the most fucked up scenes of the entire show.

I've begun to wade through the unknown horrors of Season 8 and saw something so heinous that I needed to take a break for at least the rest of the day. I... I didn't know that something like that existed, but other than that episode (the last one on this list), how did we do? Well, I've completed Season 5, just three and a half seasons to go. Here are the episodes.
Grandpappy the Pirate -- some of the very little evidence that Mr. Krabs cares about Pearl, and he recieves consequences for his actions. GOOD.Chum Caverns -- Neither Mr. Krabs or Plankton are anywhere in the right, but Mr. Krabs is more in the right than Plankton. DEBATABLE.Slimy Dancing -- Besides a minor plot hole, it was a pretty funny episode. GOOD.A Friendly Game -- An episode that had potential ends up destroying Squidward's house. ATROCITY.New Digs -- Funny, fairly interesting plot, great ending. GOOD.Mooncation --

Writing the Script to the Breadwinners review...And I don't think that I've ever been this fucking angry in a long time. When is the last time I was legitimately angry while writing the review? Pet Sitter Pat, but this honestly blows that out of the water. Hell, it blows my Chicken Little rage out of the water. And do you know what the sticking point is? I've just made it to the third page of the review and I haven't even started talking about the episode in question, which has been changed to Love Loaf.Writing the Script to the Breadwinners review...1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Keep in mind that one page of script roughly four minutes of screen time. What have I been talking about in my review? Well I did like this one, quite a bit. I found it funny (really funny as a matter of fact), and Pinkie didn't piss me off. But some things about it left me a little conflicted. My biggest problem is that everyone knows about the Wonderbolts history (except Rainbow) for no apparent reason. I understand Twilight. I mean, I could understand Pinkie knowing about the Wonderbolts because she is Pinkie. But why does Rarity and Fluttershy know about the Wonderbolts? The other problem I had, and I will admit that it's a personal gripe, is that it might lead to Rainbow learning more "children's morals." Before she learned that reading is fun, and now she's learning that there are different methods of studying. These aren't bad morals, whatsoever, but they aren't morals that adults should be learning. This is sort of why the CMC are on the show. Rainbow should be learning the morals that she learned in Sonic Rainboom, or Wonderbolts Academy.
I want to state that th

This is a very weird episode. Rocks. The episode uses a lot of dry humor, which I'm 95% sure what they were going for, and Maud's brutal honesty kind of got me to laugh frequently. Her voice reminded me, and perhaps a lot of others, of Raven from Teen Titans. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Tara Strong voiced Maud as well. However, Maud's ultra seriousness goes beyond that of Raven's. Rocks. Throughout the episode I had no idea where they were going with things. It kind of seemed either unstructured or unplanned until everything came together at the end. Rocks. And at the end everything came together in an exceptionally good and heartwarming way. Did the ending obstacle course remind anyone else of Double Dare? I mean, besides the part where Pinkie was almost crushed. By rocks. So in this episode Pinkie Pie's sister, who is pretty much Raven from Teen Titans comes to visit in a ceremo

I... I didn't like this one. There were things that I did like, like the chimera, but as an overall product I really didn't like it. The problem, as you've might have guessed, comes down to Applejack. Even if we count her behavior in Apple Family Reunion, this paranoia of hers was way too far out of character. It became really frustrating really quickly. I kinda think that that was the point, but you can't frustrate the audience as well when doing it. By the time that Applebloom had already escaped Applejack the episode had already really lost me. Not to mention that the moral was... confused. Applejack learned that she shouldn't be paranoid about Applebloom after saving her from nearly getting eaten by a hydra. Whether she saved the pies or not, that's pretty much what happened. How could this be fixed? Well, to curb down on Applejack's out of nowhere paranoia Applebloom coul

I've sent counter-notifications against all of these claims and I'll continue to do it the more that come my way, but if this is going to continue we may be in some deep shit before we get out of the woods. Fun with CopyrightSo, where is the Brian's a Bad Father video gonna be? It's gonna be on YouTube. Along with all of my other FOX reviews because I'm going to fight this shit. So, I've began uploading my FOX reviews, starting with that Allen Gregory review, and now two Family Guy reviews (Fresh Heir, and Seahorse Seashell Party). But isn't it like three strikes and you're out? Yeah. And the reason that I uploaded two Family Guy reviews is that for some bizarre reason my Fresh Heir review slipped past the computer. But the other two videos are under dispute. I don't know what's gonna happen to them. I can only tell you what I know.Fun with Copyright6 months ago in Personal More Like This
The process goes like this. If your video gets matched with copyright ID, the company that did it has an opportunity to track it, gain ad revenue from it (which Hasbro does), or block it; either in one region (UMG, and it's usually Germany for some reason because I don't know), or worldwide (FOX). From there you can dispute it. They say that knowingly submitting false disputes
Animated Atrocity Score UpdatesSo I've been following my own guidelines and have gone back to update the scores on all of my Animated Atrocity cards. Some have faired better, and some have faired worse, and some of them were unchanged (which won't be put here). The Pinkie ProblemSo, I've been saying that Season 4 has had one consistant problem, and that problem has been Pinkie's characterization. A lot of people seem to believe that Pinkie has been fine, the same as she's always been, or harmless. That's a perfectly valid opinion (that I don't share) and there is a way of looking at things where you take every character's perfomance as "in character:" Spike from Spike at Your Service; Twilight in Feeling Pinkie Keen; Rainbow Dash in May the Best Pet Win!, everything. The Pinkie Problem1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I could do that—actually no I couldn't, since I'm a critic, but hypothetically if I could, I would have to assume that Pinkie lacks any sense of empathy (The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000; Filli Vanilli); is a complete idiot (Over a Barrel); and has the mind of a child (most of her season four appearances). Regardless of whether or not that's a valid viewpoint, that's not a good character. I define a good character as someone you can relate to, som

Well let's start off with the fact that I didn't expect them to actually go that far with the title reference, but okay. Now this episode gives me some serious mixed feelings. All of my positive feelings revolve around Fluttershy and the main plot, and as you may have guessed all of my negative feelings revolve around Pinkie. Now recently Digi said that it's futile to try to explain Pinkie's quirks, and to some extend I agree. It's futile to try to explain how she manipulates hammerspace and pops out of nowhere, but to argue that there is no consistent character there is quite frankly ridiculous. I recently said that Pinkie is not the smartest character on the show (unless you believe the whole obstificating stupidity theory), but she's not a moron. Yes this episode is probably her worst appearance so far, blowing Over the Barrel out of the water. The others callin

What Hurts About Shorty McShorts' ShortsSo, I've got some mixed reactions to what I'm going to be reviewing Monday (the script is already done, if you're wondering. There's no turning around on this). Most people don't seem to remember it and for good reason. A lot of them star unlikeable character (Dodger Dare; My Mom Married a Yeti; The Phabulizers); a just plain stupid (Bozzelbag's Zip; Boys on Da Run; Mascot Prep; My Mom Married a Yet... again); or are plain cliche. However, the cliche ones are really what hurts the most. Take Too Many Robots for a good example:What Hurts About Shorty McShorts' Shorts9 months ago in Personal More Like This
Too Many Robots is about a teenage Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls who stole Applebloom's voice who moved in from the country to her mad scientist uncle... or something. That sounds like a great idea, right? A little girl with little technological experience coming to live in a house ruled essentially by robots. That has a ton of potential, but what do they do? They have her completely resist the robots and tell a cliched st

Okay, to put it simply Rolf wants to bury a phone he thinks is haunted. Eddy ignores him takes the phone and each time Eddy (or anyone) answers the phone something bad happens to him. First of all before now there weren't any super natural episodes to the show (although the episode with the boomerang was one of my favorites). My problem is just how cruel the episode is. What did Eddy do in this episode? He got a phone that Ralph was trying to get rid of. Ed, Edd N Eddy was a master of having characters deserve their slapstick. You know, have the characters be in the wrong. Not to mention that ending is pretty damn mean. Remember how Twilight acted in Feeling Pinkie Keen? At the end, Eddy gives the phone to Johnny, but the phone still causes bad things to happen to Eddy every time it's answered. And throughout the episode Double D was trying to prove that Eddy wasn't cursed; so towards the end he's in extreme glee as Eddy is getting pelte

Twilight's Kingdom ReviewYou know those kind of things that will either be one of the best things that you, or one of the worst? Yeah, this review is one of them. Oh don't worry, I don't have a controversial opinion or anything... at least I'd like to think. Watching the review myself, I think that I did good. Well, as good as I could do. Also, the Hearts and Hooves Day commentator comes back (now renamed The Snark Knight) and we're on the other side of the spectrum this time. I complain a lot about negativity and nitpicking and all kind of things. Let's see how this turns out.
Also, this is a stinger episode.
First Impressions - Pinkie PrideDisclaimer: These are my first impressions and not my final thoughts towards the episode. This episode also requires a little bit more analysis than usual, not as much as Daring Don't or Magical Mystery Cure, but I need a few more viewings to gain my full opinion.First Impressions - Pinkie Pride1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Yes I think that the episode was awesome, incredibly so. For the entirety of the season I've been largely complaining about how Pinkie has been flanderized, and in an episode focusing on her her characterization is damn near perfect. It's honestly kind of like an inverse of previous seasons where the show has exaggerated her character in her own episodes, but she was usually fine in group episodes. I say close for only one reason--Pinkie's very last line where she says she doesn't know who Cheese Sandwich's name was. Still I can look past that though because pretty much every other part of this episode went above and beyond.
Let's start with the obvious, Weird Al. His humor translates to the show perfectly
