Let's talk about something happier. Anyone got ideas for the world, characters, etc. of Growing Around? Or maybe even an episode suggestion?

Meghan McCarthy: "can you spread the word that BATS! was written by Merriwether Williams? I just saw that credits were wrong in the episode" Are you sure that M. A. Larson didn't write this episode with all of those continuity nods?
When did Friendship is Magic become Courage the Cowardly Dog?
Why does this episode have more of a connection to Castlevania than Castle Mane-ia?
Who's idea was it to take my suggestion to have Fluttershy defend animals from ponies?
Most importantly, when did Merriweather Williams become fucking amazing?
Okay, I should probably delve into more detail here and go into things that I liked... actually there is very little that I didn't like. If I'd have to pick it's that the bats themselves were a little too creepy and yeah, the title beat out Magic Duel as the worst title in the series. Seriously, who is coming up with all of these titles? But that
Spongebob Animated AtrocitiesSo I went through all of the Spongebob episodes, and marked the ones that I know are bad as animated atrocities. Do you know how many I found? No seriously, guess. 84. And then I went through it again and counted 89. Let me say that these are the ones that I've seen (I'm unfamiliar with most of season 8 and 9). You don't believe me? You seriously don't believe me? Here's a list of all of the animated atrocities that I've counted and a brief reason to why they're an atrocity. I can't believe I'm saying this, but please tell me if there's any that I missed:Spongebob Animated Atrocities2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Hey, I warned you guys that this would be the angriest that I've been, if not ever, at least since Chicken Little. And why is that? I mean, I mean it doesn't do anything that Family Guy would do (give a baby herpes, play with the emotions for a ratings trap, tell abuse victims that they should stay in abusive relationships for the abuser's benefit, etc). Let's start with the fact that this was exceptionally hard to watch in its own right, even for me. I mean the character models are so off that it gives you constant cringe. I mean, this was a whole review where I had a hard time even looking at the screen. The whole time (unlike Ren Seeks Help, which at least had some dull and breather moments. Ren Seeks Help is still worse though).
I won't lie, a lot of anger probably came from reviewing the laziest animation ever made, while working on my own. They didn't try in any area. I'm not even going to bring up the story. But for the animation, I have to wond

It's that time of year again! Welcome one and all to PPG-Horror's annual Halloween Contest!! :iconevilgrin2plz:
Halloween: the time of year where kids and thrill-seeking individuals dress up as their favourite character or monster for the fun of the holiday. Year after year they dress up in costumes, aiming to be the best, the most detailed, the most authentic, the most gruesome, just for the candy rewarded to those who succeed in causing a fright.
It's all harmless fun--people trust each other and are generous with their tricks or treats; after all, they know that beneath that scary mask, there is no monster, no witch. Just another Halloween-goer looking for sweets.
But what if, in 2014, that wasn't the case?
What if, behind that mask, was not a child... but a monste
I've Got a New Favorite Dreamworks MovieSo for Christmas last year I got a bunch of money and decided to buy How to Train Your Dragon on a whim (along with several of those movies on the poll). Of course I didn't really have much of an opportunity to watch movies, you know until I got so sick I could barely do anything but watch movies. It was a perfect opportunity to watch How to Train Your Dragon, and I was really blown away. Well first of all, it's like that Eragon movie done right. I mean, it actually takes time for Hiccup to train Toothless and you actually see their relationship bloom. You know, instead of five minutes. The relationship is actually extremely charming, and you feel it. The animation is breath-taking, almost looking like stop motion at some point (although for snowing 9 months of the year, and hailing the other 3 it's strange how we don't see a single flake). The dragon designs are unbelievably creative, and the flying scenes are just amazing.I've Got a New Favorite Dreamworks Movie2 years ago in Personal More Like This

I... I didn't like this one. There were things that I did like, like the chimera, but as an overall product I really didn't like it. The problem, as you've might have guessed, comes down to Applejack. Even if we count her behavior in Apple Family Reunion, this paranoia of hers was way too far out of character. It became really frustrating really quickly. I kinda think that that was the point, but you can't frustrate the audience as well when doing it. By the time that Applebloom had already escaped Applejack the episode had already really lost me. Not to mention that the moral was... confused. Applejack learned that she shouldn't be paranoid about Applebloom after saving her from nearly getting eaten by a hydra. Whether she saved the pies or not, that's pretty much what happened. How could this be fixed? Well, to curb down on Applejack's out of nowhere paranoia Applebloom coul

Isn't that one of the vendors from Putting Your Hoof Down?
Coming from the guy who wrote Somepony to Watch Over Me, apparently taking lessons from Ed Valentine and getting the ability to remind me of a bunch of episodes that I don't like while making an episode that I do. Yeah I liked this episode quite a bit, although the episode was really pushing it at the end with the final trade and Applejack and Rarity didn't really have much to do. But you know that moment where Spike almost loses his comic and Twilight saves it from falling in the mud. Yeah, that's a pretty accurate comparison to this episode. I do like the type of trading plot that Rainbow and Fluttershy were going through. It reminds me a lot of that Ed, Edd n Eddy episode where they were trading to get a chicken egg. But seriously, this episode itself se
First Impressions - For Whom the Sweetie Belle...Curse DeviantArt and their title character limit. Why are those thing necessary? Does DeviantArt like have a limited amount of characters that they're allowed to have within the entirety of their website and this is just a way to cut down their usage of it? It doesn't matter, let's talk about this episode. Firstly, I like that this season gave us an episode for each of the CMC (For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils, Flight to the Finish, and Somepony to Watch Over Me) and an episode with all of the CMC together (Twilight Time) even if not all of them were the best. I kinda think that each season should do that. I also kinda think that each season should keep all of their episodes in order. In season 2 it was because they wanted the Christmas episode to air around Christmas. In season 3 it was because they wanted Just for Sidekicks and Games Ponies Play to air back to back. What's the reason this time? I mean besides annoying me (I like to do theFirst Impressions - For Whom the Sweetie Belle...1 year ago in Personal More Like This
First Impressions - Pinkie PrideDisclaimer: These are my first impressions and not my final thoughts towards the episode. This episode also requires a little bit more analysis than usual, not as much as Daring Don't or Magical Mystery Cure, but I need a few more viewings to gain my full opinion.First Impressions - Pinkie Pride2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Yes I think that the episode was awesome, incredibly so. For the entirety of the season I've been largely complaining about how Pinkie has been flanderized, and in an episode focusing on her her characterization is damn near perfect. It's honestly kind of like an inverse of previous seasons where the show has exaggerated her character in her own episodes, but she was usually fine in group episodes. I say close for only one reason--Pinkie's very last line where she says she doesn't know who Cheese Sandwich's name was. Still I can look past that though because pretty much every other part of this episode went above and beyond.
Let's start with the obvious, Weird Al. His humor translates to the show perfectly

Well I did like this one, quite a bit. I found it funny (really funny as a matter of fact), and Pinkie didn't piss me off. But some things about it left me a little conflicted. My biggest problem is that everyone knows about the Wonderbolts history (except Rainbow) for no apparent reason. I understand Twilight. I mean, I could understand Pinkie knowing about the Wonderbolts because she is Pinkie. But why does Rarity and Fluttershy know about the Wonderbolts? The other problem I had, and I will admit that it's a personal gripe, is that it might lead to Rainbow learning more "children's morals." Before she learned that reading is fun, and now she's learning that there are different methods of studying. These aren't bad morals, whatsoever, but they aren't morals that adults should be learning. This is sort of why the CMC are on the show. Rainbow should be learning the morals that she learned in Sonic Rainboom, or Wonderbolts Academy.
I want to state that th

I've begun to wade through the unknown horrors of Season 8 and saw something so heinous that I needed to take a break for at least the rest of the day. I... I didn't know that something like that existed, but other than that episode (the last one on this list), how did we do? Well, I've completed Season 5, just three and a half seasons to go. Here are the episodes.
Grandpappy the Pirate -- some of the very little evidence that Mr. Krabs cares about Pearl, and he recieves consequences for his actions. GOOD.Chum Caverns -- Neither Mr. Krabs or Plankton are anywhere in the right, but Mr. Krabs is more in the right than Plankton. DEBATABLE.Slimy Dancing -- Besides a minor plot hole, it was a pretty funny episode. GOOD.A Friendly Game -- An episode that had potential ends up destroying Squidward's house. ATROCITY.New Digs -- Funny, fairly interesting plot, great ending. GOOD.Mooncation --
First Impressions - Three's a CrowdThat was definitely an interesting episode, and a very fun one. I haven't seen an episode this funny in quite awhile. With Discord around it's very hard for an episode to not focus on the comedy. I've often said that collaborations on this show don't work, but this episode proves that there are exceptions to that rule. It doesn't completely destroy that rule since it could have very well been a fluke. I really did wish that it was only Ed Valentine writing this episode so I could firmly grasp his writing style, but then again Corey Powell has had three shots that all seem to be from vastly different writers. Still, if I may use this episode as an inclination Ed Valentine has a very hard time getting the actual story started. In Flight to the Finish it took about ten minutes to focus on Scootaloo's flightlessness, and in this episode it took about ten minutes to have Discord mess with Cadence and Twilight. Good thing he isn't writing for an 11-minute-episode showFirst Impressions - Three's a Crowd2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Let's Talk About It - Patrickman!Welcome to my new segment (that I might turn into videos) called Let's Talk About it, where people keep asking me to review episodes that aren't bad enough to be atrocities or good enough to be admirable, but still deserve a few comments. Today's episode is Patrick-Man! People keep wondering why it wasn't on my Worst Patrick's a Prick list, along with Driven to Tears, Rule of Dumb, and Patrick Smartpants... for some reason. I like all of those episodes, except Driven to Tears, which left me more conflicted than anything. I also like Patrickman, which really seemed to surprise a lot of people so let's talk about it.Let's Talk About It - Patrickman!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
What separates Patrickman from episodes like Patrick's Staycation, Yours, Mine and Mine, and The Card? It's really simple, for the first time since, I can't even remember, Patrick's stupidity felt genuine. It didn't feel malicious or even hedonistic. The basic plot is that Patrick is fe
First Impressions - Pinkie Apple PieDisclaimer: these are only first impressions and may not reflect my overall thoughts towards the episode.First Impressions - Pinkie Apple Pie2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Well... that was odd. I never expected this show of all shows to actually manage a road trip episode, but they made it work and didn't make it contrived. There was actually a reason for them to go on a road trip, and that reason was interesting. I've always said that Pinkie and Applejack would play off of each other very well, and I stand by it, but this episode doesn't actually have them play off of each other much. It's more of Applejack playing off of her family, and the Apple Family as a whole playing off of Pinkie. And they play off of each other really well. They clearly want to either impress Pinkie, or make her feel welcome, or both, and it's amazing on how they actually come about that.
Believe it or not, the thing that stuck out to me most about this episode is that they didn't feel the need to put all of the mane six in the episode. I was worried that the wri

Girls Gone Mild was clearly a take that at parents who were complaining about too much violence in this show. That's... really about it. Unlike Town and Out, it knew what it was going for. Unfortunately it kind of made it a boring and frustrating experience, not to mention it's really contrived that parents would have this problem in a city with supervillains. It seems that most of the infamous episodes from this show come from the show trying to take itself too seriously. If you watch it as a take that at parents complaining about the show teaching violence, it's tolerable. The only thing that annoys me about is how blatant and on the nose it is; but it's hard to take offense to that when you agree with their point. How angry can you get at an episode being boring and forced when that's what the writers were going for to send a message? That being said, during the Savino years, the Powerpuff Girls weren't in much of a creative p

Also the whole journal thing that's going around about a code is not the one about the hacker that is going on now. And that code isn't going to help anything, since it was from a supposed hacker who turned out not to be one. So don't go posting that around please.
