These NightsThese Nights11 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I've spent my nights
Not asleep in bed
But on my roof
Curled in a ball on the cold shingles
Wishing you were there to warm me
There to keep me company
I look into the night sky
Are you looking back at the stars and missing me?
Just as I am missing you?
As I sit and wonder
I start to look at the moon
And remember that night
The way the moon shimmered in your eyes
Your beautiful brown eyes
I just wish I could lay in your arms
And stare off into your eyes again
But wishing never got anyone anywhere
And only seeing you in my dreams isn't enough for me

A tear of whispy nothingness falls down from mourning eyes,

Walking surely, stature proud, his ghostly eyes see clear
though miles dark and dripping cold, to he who does not fear.
The Iron gates swing closed behind. With confidence held tight
he sets to slay the one who slays, and walks into the night.
A girl who shivers, frigid now, in turn will soon be held
for justice ghost will not be stopped, until his foe is felled,
for nights will fall, and death is not the end,
just a switch in which we look back and then
go remember the past, a
