I started off with the bodice. My fabric of choice for this: italian velvet (it's a upholstery fabric).
Here's the front.
And the back.
Before make and attach the sleeves, I started to make the skirt. My fabric of choice: shantung jacquard.
For the frills I used the same italian velvet.
Make some straps first.

Testing the fit between the frills to attach them later.
Such a heavy skirt needs a crinoline to support all that weight, so I made one.
Oh my! It can stand on its own!
Time to make and attach the sleeves.
If you want to work with heavy fabrics as the velvet I used, you'll need strong and sharp scissors x_x
