"All right, everypony, take your places," Celestia said with a hurried tone and observed as her orders were followed. Somepony was missing so she bowed her head down next to Spike and whispered. "Where's Twilight?"
"Uhm..." Spike said and scratched his head. "I don't know. She said she'd be here."
"Well congratulations then, Spike. You just got promoted to ring bearer."
A red felt pillow hovered into his arms. Celestia rose again and looked out at the congregation. Shining Armour and Luna both stood before her. Only a few other ponies sat on the benches. It was the rehearsal and only the mane six, the bridesmaids and a few others were gathered. Celestia cleared her throat and was about to begin the faux ceremony when the doors flew open. Twilight ran up the aisle between the seats with a confident smile on her lips.
"Wait! I have something to say!" she shouted. Her friends covered their heads in

It is said that earth pony mares long ago had a way of making their spurned love fall for them by mixing their food or drink with a special ingredient. The practice was forbidden by Celestia during her rule and ponydom eventually forgot about it from disuse. However, could there have been another reason for the ban?

DAWN OF THE FIRST MONTH
The Apple family were gathered around a table in their kitchen. They nervously watched as Granny Smith crunched numbers on her calculator. A strip of paper escaped it and rolled across the length of the table between jars of zap apple jam. Applejack had Apple Bloom in a tight embrace, her eyes wide with fear and her little sister worriedly looking up at the table. Big Mac stood on the other side of Granny Smith; his calm exterior betrayed the furore raging inside him.
The only one unfazed was Granny Smith herself, fervently pressing buttons and yanking on levers.

Applejack jumped out of the train car before it had come to a full stop. The other passengers were curious as to why they had stopped outside of Ponyville, but none of them were filled with fear and horror like Applejack. She of all ponies knew to be expecting the worst and she had seen the smoke in the distance. She had donned the iron-plated armour she had received from Brawny Spirit and strapped the sword on her back.

Spike sat on the steps outside the library the next day, head in his hands and brow furrowed to a frown. The others had caught only snippets of what had happened after the party and they came curious to him with their questions. The first to arrive on the scene was Rainbow Dash. Before she could vent what she had on mind, Applejack showed up as well.
“Is she... all right?” Dash asked, unsure what to say. She landed in front of Spike, but looked away from the library.
“I think so, but she doesn’t want to talk with anyone,” Spike said without looking up.
“What in tarnation happened yesterday?!” Applejack asked shocked and stamped the ground impatiently.
“I don’t know,” Spike said with a shrug and looked up at them. “I tried writing Celestia, but I’m not sure I understand her reply.”

Twilight took another glance around the library's living room and then her eyes moved towards the stairs leading up. Her ears perked up, trying to catch any hint of sounds from upstairs. After a moment, she relaxed as she didn't hear anything.
She had planned this night for many weeks and now she was alone, finally she could enjoy it! She quickly levitated her checklist over so she could check that everything was in order. "Let's see here..." Twilight mumbled, her quill levitating right next to her. "Warm fireplace..." Twilight glanced at her fireplace which was radiating quite warningly. "Check."
Twilight then threw a couple blocks of wood into the fire, so the temperature wouldn't drop for a while. And now the living room was bit warmer. "Soft and comfy mattress..." Twilight moved her hoof on the mattress. "Check." she said with a smile.

CHAPTER 1: THE FIRST CHAPTER
2013, Royal Equestrian Timeline
Apple Bloom sat in the tree house and leaned out of the window, gazing into the Equestrian night. She had just adjourned yet another unsuccessful meeting with her two fellow blank flanks, and another day had gone by without any cutiemarks. The Cutiemark Crusaders could celebrate almost a year of existence, yet poor Apple Bloom could only sigh at her misery. All she wanted in life was to find her special talent, but all three of them had tried everything and they were steadily running out of ideas; the other ponies in Ponyville also steadily running out of patience with them.
There was only one thing that she hadn't tried yet by now, and she had tried everything from weird potions to powerful spells. She pressed her hoofs together and shut her eyes in concentration for at just that moment, Apple Bloom had seen a shooting star, said to be Luna's way of granting the wish of the hopeful.

"Ya all right, sugar cube?" Applejack asked with concern. Twilight pried her eyes away from the window.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah, I'm fine, just lost in my own thoughts," Twilight answered and put on a smile. "I just can't help but wonder what the Princess wants with us after all these years."
"She probably just wants to throw us a reunion party," Spike said and relaxed in his chair.
"It's been three years, Twalight. Three years since we were all together last," Applejack pointed out. Twilight nodded.

It was filly Twilight’s first time sleeping away from home and she was rolling around on the large bed and flailing her limbs, too nervous to properly settle down. Celestia had always been kind but also terribly busy with duties. Though having a room available to her, Twilight had been allowed to sleep in the Princess’ chamber on her first night. Celestia returned shortly after to check up on Twilight and found her new student with nose buried in a large book. It was with a stab of melancholy that she saw what Twilight was reading.
“Twilight dear, where did you find that book?” Celestia laid down next to Twilight and wrapped her wing around her.

There comes a time in every young dragon's life, when thoughts turn to love. Within dragon society this time is full of celebration and joy, as they find their first mate and, in some cases, settle down for a lifetime of happiness. Conflict in this department, while common, is quickly quashed among them, as one of the core tenants of dragon society is to save your strength for the real fights. Time and energy is too precious to waste on lover's quarrels. Rules clearly set out how to resolve romantic disputes. Unfortunately, for one dragon, these rules are an unknown, a complete mystery. Which is a real pity for him, because this week, if anyone would need those rules, it's him.
The sun was just beginning to set in Ponyville, as a young purple dragon named Spike was getting ready for a major event in his life: His first date. He applied a bit of cologne he got the day before, not too much, he didn't want to sme

"Oh Luna We shouldn't Spike might hear us " Twilight said softly, wrapped in Luna's arms.
"Shh... don't worry about him it's all about us right now " Luna replied sweetly, moving her face back towards Twilight's.
Luna awoke slowly, not quite wanting to leave her dream, but found herself pulled out of it anyways. And like all great dreams, she couldn't manage to fall back asleep to rejoin it. She snuggled close to the soft, warm pillow she had her arms wrapped around. Hugging it, she nuzzled her face into the soft, sweet smelling locks of hair that lay next to her. She loved the small, dreamy moan it made when she traced her fingers over its soft fabric. Conscious thoughts appeared in her head as it seemed to snuggle backwards into her. 'Wait Moan? Hair!?'
Her eyes flashed open immediately, and her dream seemed to have come true. She was lying in bed, her arms encircled around Twilight, who was pressed up against her, though somehow still

It was once again cider season for Ponyville. There was a lot of excitement for the first day of cider the next day. Applejack headed into the library to see how her friend Twilight was doing. "Howdy Twilight!"
Twilight looked over with a causal smile looking up from a book that she was reading. "Hey Applejack, looking forward to cider season starting tomorrow?" She knew it was a huge thing that gave the Apples their income as well as the Zap Apple Jam.
"Of course, but we're puttin' a stop to Pinkie's hoggin', there's a five glasses per day per costumer limit now."
"That is good I am sure Rainbow Dash will be very happy about that."

Spike brushed his teeth, getting his breakfast off his breath, and replacing it with the minty coolness of toothpaste. He could simply breathe fire to get rid of it, but he decided this was better than the smell of incinerated bacon and eggs. He rinsed his mouth, and walked back to his bedroom. There was one more thing he needed to retrieve before leaving. He walked to his bedside table, opened the drawer, and delicately picked up the shiny silver object. Just then, the doorbell rang.
He quickly pocketed it and glanced out his door. Luna was standing there, talking to Applebloom. He marveled for a moment how pretty she was in that yellow sundress and bow, which matched her dazzling orange eyes perfectly. He was glad he took extra care into making his usually crazed pillow head of green hair presentable. Though, her quickly surprised face snapped him out of it.
"Um I was just wondering if Spike was ready-"

Luna was soon flying over the outskirts of Ponyville, the orchard of apple trees that made up the Sweet Apple Acres orchard speeding past. She could see Twilight's library approaching, easily spotted since it was the only building that was literally carved into a live tree. How the building stayed alive without its internal structuring, Luna never knew. Although, looking over it, she became aware of the dull light that was slowly spreading from the eastern horizon. She had almost forgotten her one true duty of being the Goddess of the Night.
Flipping over so that she was flying upside down, she focused on the huge, pearly white moon that hovered overhead. With a glowing hand outstretched, she slowly pulled it down to the western horizon, releasing it so it may follow the orbital path itself. The beautiful patterns of stars, which she designed herself, followed slowly behind.
Luna yawned lightly. Setting the moon every morning was a tiring process, though she insisted tha

Luna looked out at the dark lands of Equestria. She leaned against the stone railing that surrounded the balcony of her room, in the second highest tower of Canterlot Castle, the first belonging to her sister. She soon found her eyes landing on the small town of Ponyville, watching as lights went out, one after another, as the inhabitants retired to bed. She let out a long sigh, her eyes dropping to stare at her hands, which were folded and resting on the carefully carved balcony border. Yes, she knew not many people stayed up to enjoy her beautiful nights, but it pained her to see the loneliness that turned her into the dreaded Nightmare Moon, stare at her in the face again.
"Problem, sister?" Luna nearly jumped out of her skin as she felt a hand suddenly land on her shoulder, though she turned her head to find Celestia's smiling face beside her. "You looked like something was troubling you is something wrong?"
Luna shook her head. "Oh, no, of course not. Everything

"I do believe 'tis thy turn, my dearest." Luna raised an eyebrow at Twilight, the edge of her lip on the brink of a condescending smirk as she hushed a small laugh. She glanced at the game board (that may as well have just spelled out 'HAHA, LUNA WINS AGAIN'), then at the frantic desperation on her opponent's face. Looking down at the small wooden tray that held her remaining three letters, she contemplated her next move almost effortlessly. Now bored, she crossed her hooves; waiting. This was too easy.
Meanwhile, Twilight was mere seconds away from flipping the table over, blowing up the library, and banishing Luna back to the moon. Her brow was furrowed in a concentration so deep and forced that it was painful, a dull ache pounding away

Princess Luna stared at the newly married couple who were dancing in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by other couples swaying to the music. Luna had never felt happier, as this was her first wedding in over a thousand years. For a moment, she felt a pang of guilt, that she might have missed many weddings like this.
But then again, last time she had attended any royal weddings, they weren't this lively. Well, last time they didn't have Pinkie Pie. Last time, she was also a bit uptight. And a bit more tempered. But that was in the past. She felt quite proud that this party was being held, right under her night sky. It gave her the hope that she needed. The hope that everypony actually enjoyed her night!

Then...just as Twilight started to converse with Celestia about everything she had learned in Ponyville, and all of her wonderful adventures and friends, Luna suddenly appeared and whispered something into the solar Princess' ear. Time moved painfully slow in Ponyville. The more Twilight thought about it, the more irritated she became. Eventually, she magically imploded the only clock in her library house for she no longer wished to be reminded of time. The incessant ticking, tick after tock, just reminded her how long she had been separated from Luna. She knew it was just an unnecessary stress, so she took care of it.
In roughly two days' time, Twilight had gone from quasi-competent Aura Bloom competitor to anti-social hermit, bent on sheltering in her house as if sunlight would make her transparent. Her friends knew she was emotionally distressed, but they were still clueless as to why. They all believed that she was still upset about her failure in the Aura Bloom; there was hardly any suspicion that she was aching on a much more profound level.

In the cool night air there was a slight breeze that carried a stray leaf across the air on it's back, floating in a beautiful fluttering way as it trailed lazily past the snout of a tall and slender alicorn pony. The royal purple coat of the young mare was soft and smooth, her mane and tail a deep lavender, she looked up into the sky, millions of conflicting thoughts bounced around in her head. She breathed deeply with a steady rhythm and the stars seemed to glow and fade with the rising and falling of her slim flank, she looked beautiful in the moonlight, though sad. She continued to gaze out over the horizon at the endless field of glowing lights. As a solitary tear rolled down her lovely face, a single star fell slowly from the sky.
It was early in the evening as a young pony trotted through the marble corridors of the palace, her light lavender coat freshly groomed and shinin
