Finally, something with a background again! *___* The sextant (is that actually how it's written or did Leo-dict poke fun at me there? oO) that makes up the frame is totally freestyle and wouldn't work if it's life depended on it XD But I totally loved Amelia's "Oh, tish-tosh!"-line and she holds a sextant there. :3 The starry background consists of 6 layers in total and I love it! I'm gonna practice on it some more and then it will look truly good (I'm still not quite satisfied with the nebulas...) I think a Qipao dress (like the ones from the Ranma 1/2 artbook - god, how I loved those!) would suit her perfectly: elegant, sexy and brings out her curves wonderfully (I've never been one for frilly dresses anyway x.x).
Captain Amelia and Treasure Planet (c) Disney. This is 's kiriban request - I tossed in the cleanup as an extra. I've always been partial to sketches, myself. Amelia was my favourite character from that film (come on - gutsy anthro cat? What's NOT to like??), so this was an absolutely pleasure to draw. Sadly, I did not keep her on model. *sigh*
Captain Amelia left the crew on the deck... she needed to be alone. She had told them to resume their posts, but didn't want to stay to see if they actually did it. She went into the captain's cabin and looked out the window... towards the swirling stardust and the seemingly endless black that had swallowed her dearest friend. Amelia bit her lip to keep from being heard by the crew. She didn't want them to know she was crying; it wouldn't go over well with this tough group. She couldn't believe it. After years of sailing with him, years of bonding, Mr. Arrow, her metaphorical big brother, was gone.
Firstly; I must apologise if the submission seems a bit hazy. The programme that I use for scanning is playing up, so I had to take a photo of this if I was going to submit it before my school break comes to a close.
As usual; I really have not got a lot to say as there really isn’t much that is required to be said. This is just a simple pencil drawn and rendered piece of Doctor Doppler and Captain Amelia whom – even after all these years – I still consider to be my absolute favourite Disney Couple. It honestly does pain me to admit that I don’t do even close to enough fan art of these two. Maybe if Doppler wasn’t so jolly difficult to draw…! Ugh, and don’t even get me STARTED on Amelia’s hands!!! They are just so…! Ooh! I could chop them off they are so aggravating to sketch!
Anyway, I don’t know about you, but I think I have improved somewhat since my last deviation of these two back in 2007: [link] Gosh! I was 14 years old when I drew that last one! Now I pray that I have improved. Lord help me if I haven’t!
