I didn't know what category to put this in. Oh well.

Just something new. I must be on a Polynesian art kick or something. I've been wanting to draw a tiki head for a while. This isn't what I had imagined drawing, but I'm happy with it. I even tried some new coloring techniques. I think it turned out pretty cool. ^_^

Here's #2 of the bunch I've got in the works! This one is a little less traditional than the first, but I dig it. This one was kind of inspired by one of my favorite comic characters DC's Demon. The nose, flame, and little chin piece are all seperate. Main part of the mask cut out of MDF, all accutrements cut out of 1/4 birch plywood, painted with acrylic. Hope you folks like it!

Another Painting for you, Levels slightly modified in Pshop because the colors were a bit washed out from my crappy digital camera and my lighting issues. other then that untouched.

Oil on canvas
20/24"

Inspired by the tattoo art of Darrin White. This is a picture of a tiki god, I am thinking of doing another version of the other side of his face and making a set of them.

Just thought it would be fun to draw and design Tiki Masks....then decided it would be even more fun to draw and design a little tribe of warriors wearing tiki masks.

Here are the first three.

[Photomanip] This was very fun to do. Getting the sunset just right and mixing it with the different elements. The wave in the back is from "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa". A Japanese print altered.
