The possibilities of lay out there was endless, and Allison knew this. Her heart fluttered at the thought of the adventures she could have. Ones similar to those that were told by patrons of her bar.
Allison Marie Rosewood, my OC, has the ability to travel the omniverse through the use of an ancient relic she calls The Skeleton Key. At first her travel was limited to the megatropolis known as Parallexus, but as stories of wondrous places were told to her she could no longer contain the urge to go out and explore further into the omniverse.
For this contest, you will be drawing a place in the omnieverse that Allison has gone to. I am really leaving this contest open for people's imaginations to run wild. The location can be anywhere and she can be doing just about anything that would within reason of her doing it. She can be in a world

OBJECTIVE: SELL THIS DAMN BOOK, DANNY.
At first, Gabriel was nothing more than a character named ONE. He had no backstory, no face, nothing. I just wanted to create a character that was a badass, yet with a sense of humor.
I was inspired by such characters as Boba Fett, Wolverine, Deadpool and Clint Eastwood from The Man With No Name trilogy. I needed to create something that fit that build, however, I'll admit, it wasn't intended at first.
I uploaded him on December 8th, 2008, (which, you can find here: http://danluvisiart.deviantart.com/art/GABRIEL-107612010?q=gallery%3Adanluvisiart%2F7848546&qo=50) and he became one of the most popular characters of the series, if not, the most. Soon I started finding him on forums, websites, fashion blogs (what?), and more.
But what hit me so hard was that the majority of the comments rela

The theme of the contest is "Family".
"A Family in harmony will prosper in everything." Chinese Proverb
On wikipedia, we can find this definition: "... a Family is a group of people affiliated by consanguinity, affinity, or co-residence.
In AllArtSupport we like to think that we are a family too. A family is about more than being related; is about being there when one needs you, is about feeling good only thinking about the ones you Care of.
This time, the contest we're holding has a deep meaning because many around us, possibly even us, sometimes forget what "Family" truly means or how important it is and we'd really like to make you all think more about it. This is all about reminding and celebrating the Family values.

A little story...Wanted to share this story with you guys, and future creators:A little story...1 year ago in Personal More Like This
After getting out of a slump, I wanted to share this story of something I went through a few years back. Bit of a read, but thanks for sticking through it
As you know, Comic-Con is arriving and as I prepare for it, I grow more and more anticipated with anxiety/joy in regards to the re-release of Last Man Standing.
As long, challenging, and mind-opening the creation of LMS was, something really stuck with me.
Before I had created LMS, I wanted to work for WETA Workshop. To those that don't know them, they've created props, designs, sets, costumes, and more for The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, District-9, Elysium, The Hobbit and many more films.
I was obsessed and inspired with them. The creator, Richard Taylor was always a huge inspiration to me. After viewing supplements on the Extended Editions of The Lord of the Rings DVDS, I knew right there: I HAD TO WORK FOR THEM.
So I al

so, this july i am starting death vigil, published by image/top cow. it will be a monthly series limited to three 8-issue arcs, so there is a definitive ending. with this i have learned some of the things about publishing independent comics, and i am planning a video with some tips after i summarize my experiences. hopefully it will prove helpful for others to get their stuff published
but apparently rule 1 is promote preorders. preorders are crucial for independent books as they define the print runs, and are crucial to the sucess of the book.. so.. as my far more experienced friends told me to do....
death vigil is preorderable ...pretty much in any place or webstore that carries US comics.

Preventing Injuries for Artists (and people who work with computers)
Hello there my fellow deviants, time for a new update. It’s a long entry, so go grab a snack and sit tight with a good posture, because there's a lot to learn here - even some anatomy.
I just read about Loish’s injury on her blog, and it’s truly saddening to see a fellow artist struggling with a physical limitation that affects their workflow.
Loish is absolutely right, the body has its limits and we ought to be careful before it’s too late.
Tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, aren’t stranger terms to me, many artists and people who work with computers for many hours, tend to deal with the same conditions, some let it advance to the stage where the only treatment is surgery, which can potentially reduce mobility and destroy an illustrator’s career.

OBJECTIVE: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND STORY BUILDING
I began working pretty heavily on LMS during the first quarter of 2009. I had now a handful of characters, a rough idea of the story, and a general scope of what I wanted the book to be. To get started, I felt every book should have a theme. Movies do, right?
Spider-Man: Great powers, great responsibility.
Batman: Be more than just a man, a symbol, and be remembered a legend.
Star Wars: The myth of a heroes destiny, and the truth that allows him to be set free.
Who was Gabriel? What type of character or archetype was he? What were his rises and
Good Story Advice and the Power of PatienceI recently picked up a copy of Stephen King's the Dark Tower I and while I've yet to read the actual story, the book opens with a thoughtful introduction that contains a number of insightful pieces of commentary. However, the particular part of this opening introduction that really stood out to me was the portion where King mentioned Tolkien's influence on him as a youth and as a writer. He talks about how wildly popular Tolkien's work was with kids growing up around that time, and how reading Tolkien's work eventually inspired his own. In King's own words:Good Story Advice and the Power of Patience2 years ago in Personal More Like This
"But although I read the books in 1966 and 1967, I held off writing. I responded (with a rather touching wholeheartedness) to the sweep of Tolkien's imagination-to the ambition of his story-but I wanted to write my own kind of story, and had I started then, I would have written his. That...would have been wrong. Thanks to Mr. Tolkien, the twentieth century had all the wizards and elves it needed."
And that's a big reas

And take a peek at my page, maybe make a small donation!
Thanks for everyone's support, I am now a step closer to getting a transplant, and through this fund I will be able to financially afford it.

Sailor Moon: New Anime in 2013 (now w/video)This is not a rumor!Sailor Moon: New Anime in 2013 (now w/video)2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
It was officially announced that there will be a BRAND NEW Sailormoon Anime in Summer 2013! The original Japanese VAs for Moon and Tuxy seem to be reprising their roles (based on the conversation in the event). We don't have much more detail, a letter from Naoko said she hopes we like the new series and she's happy to be making it. She said she's overwhelmed at the support the series still has and it makes her happy. She didn't think she could do something new but now she's happy she can bring them back!
They said the audience is intended to be the original fans of the show. It will be like a "powered up" of the original story, aimed at the good girls (and boys!) who grew up with the show. TOEI is doing it.
There was something in the announcement about it being released worldwide but we don't know the details. We do not know what this means as far as a possible English dub/sub. We don't yet know when/how this will reach a US market.
The new theme song is bein

Development and You: A Guide to Dynamic CharactersIf there’s one thing people love to create, artist or writer, novelist or comic artist or casual doodler, it’s a character. Creating your own character opens up a world of storytelling possibilities for you, enabling you to control their destiny, to take them to far off places where they can fight dragons and dinosaurs and robots made of lasers and--ahem. I’m getting ahead of myself. When an author creates a character, however, there is one thing that they desperately want to avoid: the infamous Mary Sue, chief destroyer of interesting plotlines and worshipped by all--except, of course, the reader. A Mary Sue is the bane of any writer’s existence, her rainbow hair waving in the wind like some kind of sick banner of plot destruction.Development and You: A Guide to Dynamic Characters2 years ago in Personal More Like This
There’s a lot more to a Mary Sue than an impressive grocery list of skills, color-changing eyes, and giant tits, though. You may be asking yourself ‘How do I avoid making an unrealistic character?’

At the time, I was slightly ashamed, but it turned out to be for the best. There's a bit of a stigma attached to those who don't follow through on their education, but in the art world, a degree itself often isn't worth the paper it's printed on. In my relatively short career, I've never once been asked if I attended college or even if I have a degree, and I'm not the only one who'll tell you that. Your portfolio and experience are what speaks for you. You can finish art school, but if your portfolio is no good, the jobs won’t come.
Today, because I chose this route, I’m debt free and I've worked for companies like Lionsgate, Warner Bros. and the Moving Picture Company, opportunities I might not have had if I stayed in school. Now, I'm not saying don't pursue a college e

When I first sold LMS to Paramount, a lot of people asked me: "How much money did you get?" "You're probably rich now, right?"
I mean, the solid gold mansion I bought was just a little gift to myself...but...
Ever since I was little, I've known I wanted to draw. From the day my parents put a pencil in my hand, this was my future. I just knew it, I had that gut feeling. So I stuck to it, and thankfully it took me to heights I'd have never imagined possible. Now with my new book Redemption heading off to studios soon for a hopeful movie package, I can't wait to see where this new road takes me.
That said, there's something else that tops all of this.
The other night I went out to visit my girlfriend's cousin and her family. Incredibly kind people with very sweet kids. Other than the two parents, there were 3 kids, but the one who caught my interest was the eight-year old boy, Diego.
Diego, shy, tiny, slender, reminded me of myself when I was his a
