I'm finally on vacations but starting tomorrow I'll be doing two weeks of internship on my city's hospital, and since it's only in the morning... I still have the afternoon for myself. Anyway.. it's only two weeks (this is my way of convincing myself to go! x'D or else.. I'll just stay at home... <_<)
I also finished watching the first season of Hannibal and now I'm like "GIMME THE SECOND SEASON!!! T___T" damn it... I'll have to wait till January of the next year... How will I survive?!!! T_T
Oh! I'll be playing Bioshock Rapture this vacations! Anyone here already played it?! Is it good?! *u*
And I didn't forget the "Hair Tutorial". I'll be doing it (not quite sure how, yet... but I'll figure it out! xD)
Finally, I've put some WIPs on facebook (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=515775578475494&set=a.491239194262466.1073741830.393527217366998&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=515775598475492&set=a.49123

deviantaRT is applying to manage a new Top Level Domain called .art
Top Level Domain (TLD) is the technical name for ".com," ".net," ".org," or ".fr". These TLDs are controlled and issued by a worldwide organization called ICANN, short for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. When ICANN announced that it would accept applications for new TLDs, deviantART quickly realized that someone would try to nab ".art."
DeviantART is committed to have the .art TLD in the hands of representatives of the arts; people who know something about the Internet and the way art is presented and enabled by the Internet. Nobody has more experience with this than the deviantART community that we are all building, participating in, and sharing with each other every day.
In order to secure .art into the right hands, deviantA

Do space marines still have their baby-maker?Simply: Yes. Yes they do.Do space marines still have their baby-maker?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
But why do people still think that they don't? Let's look a bit further. When I do certain drawings, people try to dispute that space marines do not have the equipment to procreate. The common sources of their disputes are usually "from a friend" or "4-chan".
A simple glance at even one Salamanders book tells otherwise. They not only have the ability to procreate but are encouraged to grow their family for chapter. After they become to old or crippled to fight they can retire and become a clan chieftain on Nocturne. Or even a recent novel from the Black Library "Rynn's World" details the Crimson Fists chapter impregnating a group of women to rebuild their chapter to fighting strength after their catastrophic battle at their fortress-monastery, and Space Wolves, they're damn vikings! All they do is eat, drink, fight, and fuck.
I'm pretty sure they need their equipment for that.
On a serious note, The Coup de Grace is one of the Death Watch novels that vividly p

Want to Work in the Industry?:iconbobbie-the-jean: made a very good journal entry where she briefly discusses what to expect in the film industry, and I thoroughly recommend reading it to familiarize yourself with what it's like:Want to Work in the Industry?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I also recommend following her link to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lcB9u-9mVE&feature=youtu.be which really drives home some of the issues with the demographic for artists/VFX in the world right now. As an animation graduate we are made aware of these discrepancies while still at college, and the hefty workloads and looming deadlines with zero compensation and lack of sleep could be considered a precursor to what we could expect in future.
A lot of people still seem to have rose-coloured glasses over their eyes in regards to what it must be like to be a "good artist" hired in the industry; this is the reality of it. You have to take the good with the bad, there are no guarantees, and you really, really have to love what you're doing.

Got arrestedYup, I got arrested. Why, you say? Well this is what happened. I was out with my crew, drinking.Got arrested3 years ago in Personal More Like This
And suddenly one of my friend, bless him, it really was his first time out. He saw a fine girl dancing and wanted to chat her up, but he didn't see she was dancing with her boyfriend. So the boyfriend threatened him.
So, I jumped in, and say "listen mate, it's his first night out and he doesn't know any better." But he didn't listen, grabbed my friend and was about to punch him. So as good of a mate as I am - I dropped him, a couple throat jabs and put him in a choke hold. Afterwards the police came, arrested both of us but I go out, for self-defense.
That's why I wasn't on for the few days.

But, I want to promote my art as well. So, if you want me to draw you something, you'll have to do ALL THESE THINGS:

2. Fave this journal so other people know about it.
3. Fave at least one of these deviations.
4. Leave a comment with a ref of your character.
Remember, you have to fulfill all of the conditions. If you don't watch me, or fave this journal, you're not eligible for a sketch!
I'll pick about 10 people to draw for, maybe more if
Conquer your artblockI think every artist out here has experienced it at least one time in their career: the so called artblock. A moment of total lack of inspiration that suddenly hits you, and leaves you unable to create. Most often the solution is to just wait. Most artblocks will solve automatically with time. But there are circumstances in which an artblock doesn't automatically disappear, or when you have deadlines to catch. In that case, you might be helped by some basic tips to conquer your artblock.Conquer your artblock10 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Over the years, I've experienced an artblock (or writersblock, as they call it for fiction writers) many, many times. Most of them were short, but the longest lasted over 2 years. Most of them solved on their own. But sometimes I just needed that little bit of extra help. Therefore, I made a list with a few tips and tricks to make your artblock go away. Hopefully it'll help you as well as it did me.
Beat your fear
Most artblocks come from fear. The fear of not being able to
October in IllinoisMy raven still looks curiously down from his perch atop the china cabinet. Still silent, not even a "nevermore". "Are we not men? We are Devo." drifts up through the cracks in the floor where the light goes to die. Clink-clang-clack the radiator's broken again and I'm late for the staring contest with Jimmy McQueen. Summer flew by my window so quickly I almost missed it, the snow close behind it. Picnic baskets with frozen chicken on the lawn. You wear your pope hat and smile sweetly, and I couldn't care less about anything else. The tin man dances and the world explodes into poppies. This wasn't a dream. I know because I began with my left foot. The design on the carpet is Victorian, the plastered walls pale green. Heavy curtains and shades keep out tomorrow. I like it just fine here, thank you. Who's relevant? Only you.October in Illinois3 years ago in Personal More Like This

To anyone who finds these memory cards,
and the messages left within...
My name is Charles Snippy. I am probably the last sane human being left on earth. I know not whether you will understand this message. I know not whether you'll even be able to decode the ones and zeros on these data cards. I know not whether my voice will even reach anyone.
I know not, whether the microscopic drives will last long enough and whether the plastic and metal which composes them will not disintegrate into dust as centuries pass or whether the titanium shell encasing them will remain in place or be consumed by the ever-changing landscape, lost forever.
And yet I still have hope that someone will find the story of my life, long past and learns something of use from it.
If you are still human, then this will be a story about the collapse of civilization of your forefathers through greed and arrogance.
If you are some other species entirely, then it is a story about how our human race was extin
A thing you probably didn't know about Mass EffectThe game's developers spend a lot of time looking at Mass Effect fan-art on Deviant ArtA thing you probably didn't know about Mass Effect3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Hudson says he hasn't read much Mass Effect fan-fic, but when he's working, "sometimes I'll open up a window on DeviantArt and go through the Mass Effect fan art." And he says it's more than just idle curiosity that has him flipping through fan-made images "going back to Star Wars, I've always thought that the things that people draw are the things they remember. You can't draw something you don't remember." So when he looks at fan-art on DeviantArt, it tells him "what designs resonate with people, or what moments resonate. It shows what people are interested in and what worked for them."
So what does he see a lot of on DeviantArt? The Shepard-Garrus romance.
Check the link. There are 9 more things you probably didn't know...

Rest peacefully, funny manMy heart cries today. Robin Williams was found dead from suicide. As many of us knew, he suffered from manic depressive disorder. His life came with many many highs, and the darkest lows. Deep sadness that none of us can even fathom.Rest peacefully, funny man9 months ago in Personal More Like This
I have so many wonderful memories of watching his stand up, or as Mork on one of my favorite Tv shows growing up. His comedic genius has raised the bar and so many can only hope to live up to his standards.
This one really hurts... We'll miss you Robin, I hope that you have finally found peace.

Here's the article complete with Facebook screenshots: http://kotaku.com/5968683/mob-blames-mass-effect-for-school-shooting-is-embarrassingly-wrong?popular=true
Honestly I skimmed it, but here's a run down. Don't take my humorous title as a bash on the recent tragedy in Connecticut, I'm not making jokes about that. Tragic isn't even an appropriate word for how bad it really is. But instead of thinking that the shooter might have some serious psychological issues (because we all know THAT'S not possible!) they decide to blame video games. Because the shooter liked Mass Effect on Facebook they figured that game contributed to his crimes.
Really? Really guys? What the fuck?
I know video games have a tendency to create aggression in people, especially if they have the appropriate demeanor for it (ie, naturally aggressive tendencies) and a lack of supervision and instruction as a child. O

So you're getting one journal a night until I've caught up.
Episode one: The Party Menace
Half the time slot is spent rolling up characters.
The guys who always plays half-orc barbarians Rolls up a Wookiee soldier. With swords on his arms.
the guy who was an elvish bard last time and whose dice hate him rolls up a mandolorian soldier with an INT of -1 once he gets done with all the penalties.
Boyfriend rolls Up washed up Trandoshan Boxer who specializes in ripping his arms off and beating people to death with them ala Deadpool. it is decided that the Wookiee and Trandoshan know each other from a previous incident where then ended up owing each other life-debts. Something about a Hutt Stripper.
Other female Rolls up Kaminoan Skill monkey.

What is up
My activity levels have been very low and I don't really see them picking up too soon though I can hope. On a good note though I've found my love of Netflix, I'm going through series on it. I've also been playing Mass Effect 3. Which is SO much fun. It's been a real highlight to how things have been lately, and for that I'm thankful.
I love the little conversations that you can find everywhere and just so much about it. I also find the Music and the Environments so much nicer this time around. ME2's music was pretty lackluster, since I don't believe I ever said 'Oooh I like this music!' when playing it. I'm not even far in ME3 yet and I've said it a few times.
... also because I'm 'special' my Shepard, who is named Britta, totally goes around the ship in the slinky black dress. I can't help myself.

Also would like to take this time to re-announce guest comics! HOORAY!
What is a Guest Comic, you ask?
Why, it's a Silly comic created by someone other than :iconsillyshepard: !! The insanity!
It's a great way for everyone to share in the silliness that makes all this nonsense so special!
Anyone at any skill level is welcomed to submit their rendition of the Silly universe!
Why, it doesn't even have to be Mass Effect! Any series can be sillified!
Oh, the possibilities!
Just send them duckets via note to this old girl, :iconsillyshepard: and it shall be posted (with due credit, of course) for all too see!
In fact, why not stroll over to the Guest Comic gallery and take a look see! I certainly would!! --> http://sillyshepard.deviantart.com/gallery/32471598

ASHGHGHREOHGL. PRAYERS ARE ANSWERED.
I called my housing complex this morning and asked if there was anything I could do to defer my payment. They were completely chill about it and just wanted me to print off the e-mail telling me when the money would go through.
EVERYTHING IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD NOW.
... YAY. LACK OF MONEY.
I NEED THAT MONEY.
IF I WANT TO MOVE IN, I NEED THAT MONEY. WHY CAN'T YOU GIVE IT TO ME BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS. I MEAN. SERIOUSLY.
WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO. I NEED TO EAT AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR HOUSING. THAT HAS TO BE PAID BEFORE I CAN EVEN MOVE IN. I MEAN. COME ON.
... *collapses* ... ok... I needed that...
... Commissions are still open if interested.
If anyone needs me, I'm gonna be curled up in this corner of the internet with a sketchbook and trying to figure out how to pay for school in two days.

Moving home to miamiI'm moving home to Miami for a little while while I get on my feet. It's been a long and stressful road up here in Ft. Lauderdale, but I'm sooo ready for this next step. Namely the next step is spend 6 months in Miami going to school, making comics and working until my bones come off.Moving home to miami3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Then the jump. Then I leave Miami hopefully for good and move in with my fiance IN ORLANDO! Land of dreams! *dance* land of mega con and awesome! Seriously what better place is there than the megacon/disney/universal area to be a young upstart comic artist! (Well maybe boston which is our ultimate life goal.) Safe to say I'm really excited to begin this planning /working phase of the plan. because I will get to spend 6 months with my miami friends hanging out and being awesome. Well some of them anyway.
I know I'm ranting about my life and I know it's really boring to you guys ,but I am hella hella excited about all this.
World, here I come.
