SEMI-FINALS match: 's Chimbley Sweep versus Climber
Gaaaaah what have I done?
I know... you don't have to point out. I know the quality decreased. But, seriously, people, I'm just glad I could be able to finish the animation 'til the deadline. I guess most of you don't have idea how many hours of work eight minutes of full-colored animation takes. And I only had the weekends to do my Endzone entry...
That fight was a challenge in every single aspect. Writing, storytelling, opponent's character development, animating... and I was busy with other projects, so there wasn't much inspiration left for that... ugh...
At first, since I'm always trying to nail the opponent's style, I tried to make a funnier thing... but I FAIL at humor. So I said "oh, bugger this. I'll keep with my fighting style". Maybe that wasn't the better plan... haha. Mr. Jay (and Chimbley's fans) will undoubtedly hate me forever. But I needed some ACTION! Dialogues are so boring to animate. Let me have some fun. Also, this round, I decided to pay more attention to the camera movements and to try some different angles. I feel my animations were too flat...
Mr. Jay, while you're plotting my murder, let me tell you that your character is, indeed, quite fun to draw (gotta love the hat!), and made of awesomeness. If you win, I'll be cheering for you and Chimbley in the finals :3
Note1: the quality is automatically set to medium. If it's still lagging, I suggest you download the flash to your computer. If anyone spots any glitches, faulty buttons, etc, let me know. Note2: don't leave before the credits are done, kids! :3
Endzone round three battle entry: 's Olga versus Climber.
Another action-packed animation. Olga is, just like Shado, a "less talk more action" kind of opponent. She's just a little shorter than him. And pink-haired. And porn addicted. I love her <3
And there are voices this time! Thanks , and for donating your voices! Thank you very much!
Well, first of all, my apologizes. I really tried to make something as good as the last round. But some bad things happened and... I lost all my work in the last weekend. That flash animation is what I could do in one week. Almost half of the time I had for the last one. Even working like mad, the final result is far from what I had in my plans. I had to cut dialogues and scenes... which are like cut my own flesh, haha. Oh well. At least I like how the frame-by-frame scenes came out. I guess I got some EXP points with my last animation...
Endling, sorry for messing up with Everafter and the backgrounds and the weapons and... well, everything T_T I tried, I swear I tried. But I have already used everything that has appeared in the comic so far, so I came up with those uhh... things. I hope you understand.
Sebby, I hope I have portrayed Olga appropriately. Whoever win this round, that was fun. Exhausting as all hell, but fun. And I recommend you give a look at Sebby's entry: [link] it's loooovely ; 3;
Regardless of all the mistakes and problems, I hope you like it, and please be nice. I did what I could.
Note 1: I recommend medium to low resolution for non-1337 computers (like mine xP). If anyone spots any glitches, faulty buttons, lagging, etc, let me know. Note 2: I don't know how, but I managed to do extras! There's an Easter-egg somewhere, with some relevant things and the oh-so-lovely fighting scene I couldn't finish. Good luck!
Endzone round two battle entry: 's Shado versus Climber.
Don't expect too much cuteness in this round. There's a skilled urban ninja right there. And he's a cool guy, but he's not the kind of opponent you can beat with some dance moves...
I'm so happy I finished that in time! Argh, unfortunately, I couldn't add voices in time… but please try to understand! I made that in twelve days. Twelve days! I barely had time to add music and sfx, so voice actors were truly impossible... *sigh* although I was hoping I could... oh, well. Sorry about that.
Gosh, I haven't sleep for days xD but I'm really glad how it came out, and even if I lose, I'm still very content with the results of my work. That was a great experience, I have never made such a huge flash animation like that... and in two weeks! Anyways, I hope this is enough to face *SHADOBOXXER's comic, which you can start reading by here: [link] (awesome comic, by the way, go give a look! Eh, our histories are so different... but I thought Shado was a bit rougher. Good-hearted, but a brave fighter and a lover of challenges. I'm sorry I didn't capture Shado's personality very well... >_< I really tried to portrait him the best I could).
Note 1: big file. I'm sorry, dial-up people... as always, if anyone spots any glitches, faulty buttons, lagging, etc, let me know. Note 2: since everybody seems to enjoy the extras...
Endzone round four battle entry: 's Skye versus Climber.
There's not much to say. It's a professional killer fighting against a clueless mannequin.
At first, I started to work on a comic, since I would like to create a deep, dark atmosphere similar to the one Solly uses in his comics (I can totally imagine Skye as a Silent Hill game protagonist) and I can't make it in flash. But those animations are being a great experience, so that's the reason why I'm spending sleepless nights of work again: I want to improve my animation skills. I'm still a beginner, and there's a lot to learn.
That fight took me more time than I expected. Lots of frame-by-frame work. No time to search for references. Some of the battle scenes and timing need development, but remember, people, I have a considerable short amount of time to do everything. Oh, and please notice the shadows, they were HARD to do.
This Endzone Spectator Entry should have been submitted a week ago... *sighs*
And zomgwtf a flashback! D: I wonder if I should really include that in the comic, though. The Castle of Nations's story takes place before the Endzone... but then I thought "bleh, I have already started it with my audition, so I must finish it".
For a comic strip made in one day and a half, I think the result is satisfactory. Still, I have the uncomfortable feeling it-could've-been-better. Argh. I also fear Dr. Crooked. No, I mean, I know he's creepy... but I don't know if he is portrayed appropriately. I don't want to mess up such a wonderful character >.> *hopes Endling doesn't read it*
Oh, the letter thing is a quote from ~Ganondorfthethird's fanfic Project: Endzone. I recommend you read it :3
I know this SE is being uploaded quite late. I have been overloaded with work during those last weeks. Unfortunately, the Endzone tournament is suffering the consequences...
But the tradition will remain! *ka-shing* Spectator Entry for ~Ma-sterSolly's Skye, NOW!
I recognized that when you're doing comics and animations at the same time, there are some issues you have do deal with. I feel my comics look like a storyboard... and, as always, I'm not happy with the backgrounds. They look so... deep-less. Ugh. But I had to study perspective. At least I like how the laundry came out. It should look a little more megalomaniac, though...
(I'll be submitting Spectator entries for your pleasure (or... not?). I did them some time ago, but I keep delaying submitting that, always thinking "maybe I can finish that one day"... but...).
A sideplot! (actually, it doesn't have much to do with, well... anything).
You see, I usually avoid too much cameos because I'll undoubtedly mess up with the personality/look of all the characters (and some of them has already a backplot going on, like *SHADOBOXXER's Shado or ~Moon-Fayth's Genesis...). But please don't take it too seriously.
This time, instead of panicking about backgrounds or shading, I decided to pay more attention to the line art. I have denied its importance for a while... psh, the paneling is quite bad, though. That's what you get for making things in a hurry.
What the bloody? Baghead and Skye working together!? Yes, you guessed right, I'm sick. My apologizes, mr. Solly... I'm afraid I'll draw your character for a bit longer.
Calm down, calm down... that's NOT my battle entry, people. It's... some sort of introduction. Heh. Something to keep you amused while I lose my hand.
Yes, I know that's deplorable! Gheheh look at that shadows xD but you probably know that I made that comic strip in less time than I would like to spend on it, don't you?
At first, that should be a part of my Endzone battle entry. But I end up discovering two things: 1. that's not really necessary to the battle and 2. it would be physically impossible to animate that with the time I had. So you can consider the comic a kind of prologue for the round five entry. I won't like to throw washer woman in the middle of my entry without a reasonable introduction, but that's life.
Erm... drawing a stapler is harder than I thought. And I just noticed right now that the panel where Washer Woman poses like a Sailor Moon is too bright. Nrghhh!
That was supposed to be a part of the battle, but I thought it wasn't really necessary, so I discarded it. Now I decided to finish it and make a cover, which I made using a tablet (I'm a noob with that thing, so please be kind, okay?). I made it quite in a hurry, that's why the artline looks like crap D:
What? You don't understand what the cover has to do with the battle!? Go give a look at: [link] ! :3 Barrington is a wonderful character, she's so sweet and expressive, and she's quite fun to draw also (the hat was a trouble to me at first, but once I got used to it, it was fine!). Hmm, I don’t know if I understood well Barrington's point of view about Hollywood... if not, please let me know ^^"
(First of all, sorry about the large file size...)
Endzone tournament first battle: ~Rocker-Artist's Barrington versus Climber.
I was thinking about making an epic, violent, DBZ-style action fight... ... then I'm paired with a 10 years old little girl. After momentary panic, I started to think about other possibilities. And that's what came out. I'm not trying to be funny (I FAIL at humour... I guess I don't have a "funny bone" in my body), I just killed the logic in order to increase creativity.
That fight took me a lot of research about the 50s. I spent some time reading, wikipedia-ing and watching videos. Although it didn't come out quite as I would like it... oh, well. At least I've learned something. Endzone is culture!
