Super Pregnancy Chart Project: Launch!Super Pregnancy Chart Project: Launch!4 months ago in Personal More Like This
Numbers have been crunched, specifics have been gathered, but the time is here! We are ready to start the super pregnancy chart project.
To those who do not know, our goal with this project is to create a comparative chart for multiples beyond normal pregnancies. Our mathematicians over at pregchan have been hard at work and now we have the important equations needed to make this project a reality. As expected, a project of this size is too much for one artist to handle, so lets have some fun with this. That means we are looking for some willing artists to join in.
Artists can draw whichever character they want or they can draw our test subject here called "Tess". We would love to keep things somewhat consistent, and everything has been calculated for perfect conditions, so there are a few things to consider. First, our measurements were made around the assumption that the girl pregnant had an average height of 5'5", so we ask that you draw your
13 Werewolf Film RecommendationsWell folks, since I'm going to be gone this Halloween, and will vanish for at least a week, I thought I'd leave you guys with a list (In no particular order) of thirteen (This means that your favorite may not be listed! There are hordes of other great werewolf films out there!) movies that involve werewolves that I recommend for your Halloween Parties tomorrow.13 Werewolf Film Recommendations3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Trick 'R Treat: I actually just stumbled across this film a couple of days ago, but some elements in it were right up my alley. While there isn't a whole lot of werewolfery in it, when the werewolves do show up, the effects are nice, and, it has a bit of folklore to it. This film has several stories intertwined and has a little something for everyone, whether you like werewolves, serial killers, zombies or the other ghastly creepies of Halloween. I will admit that there's one part of the film I have to look away from, though.

2014 Werewolf moviesWolfcop2014 Werewolf movies3 months ago in Personal More Like This
As the year draws to a close, let's take a look at the werewolf movies released in 2014.
Seven werewolf movies have been released in 2014, a surprising number for a creature that's usually ignored in favor of serial killers, zombies, vampires, found footage ghosties and other creeps that are a bit easier on the special effects budget. The plots don't seem to go anywhere new, following the usual tropes such as hapless schmucks getting picked off one by one and regular joes contracting lycanthropy and suddenly having to cope with bloodlust and body hair. With the exception of When Animals Dream the werewolves themselves when actual characters are white, hetero, relatively youthful and reasonably well-off males. No new ground is being broken, but that's pretty much par for the course with werewolf flicks. Admittedly, it takes lowered expectations (and sometimes a lobotomy) to enjoy the genre. For every genuine classic like Ginger Snaps
The 10 CommandmentsHello esteemed colleagues! This blog is particularly targeted to those of you who are considering pursuing a career in an art/creative field and those of you who are in art school as well. If you're not doing either of those things, the concepts here are good general advice for anything you're striving for, so definitely hang around and read on!The 10 Commandments2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
These '10 Commandments' were formulated by curator/artist/designer/entrepreneur/amazinginlyawesomehumanbeing Sergio Gomez. I had the opportunity of going to a lecture of his a few months back and it was very inspiring. So without any further ado, here they are!
10. You shall be PATIENT and CONSISTENT
One of the biggest lies you can tell yourself is that you will be an overnight success. Like any skill set, developing your artwork will take time. This is the same when looking for ways to advance your career, it won't fall into your lap. You must be earnest in looking for opportunities to show and sell your work, you

As some of you people know, I am a fan of Kill La Kill and have been riffing on the "uniforms" of the rebel group Nudist Beach with crossover characters.
As you can see from the recruiting poster, there is a basic uniform design but you can customize it - as I have - for the various characters I have drawn.
Even the 4 Devas have their very own version of a Nudist Beach uniform so there really aren't any limits except that you can't technically be wearing clothes - you can only wear accessories such as hats, belts, straps, s

Octavia Butler the Slayer of Stereotypes…
How many times have artists been dismissed or discouraged because of someone else interpreting their audacity as egotism? Octavia Butler started writing science fiction because of the film Devil Girl From Mars. Don’t misunderstand–she wasn’t inspired by the movie, she knew that she could write a better story.
Growing up in Pasadena, California, Butler was shy and introverted. She preferred writing stories over socializing. When she was twelve years old she saw Devil Girl From Mars, and began writing science fiction in an effort to do the genre some justice.
In the end she succeeded by leaps and bounds. Butler’s work is recognized as groundbreaking, not least of all b
What is this `Simpsons Evolution`???As many of you followers have been seeing has been a rag-tag collection of sketches and frenetic colorings, but what haven't been treated to is the story behind the Simpson family, 24 years beyond the current canon...so, for the first time, this is what goes on in this worldly spinoff that connects all this "art" together. What is this `Simpsons Evolution`???9 months ago in Personal More Like This
First and foremost, the tone of this spin off is NOTHING like the past 20 seasons of the Simpsons--if the tone was to be compared to the current show, the tone would feel like something out of the first two seasons: A bit brooding, gritty and semi-realistic. (Now, if you're thinking those are the worst two seasons because they're the most boring, please quit reading right now.) In 'Simpsons Evolution', the tone of the series isn't based on random, attempted gags, contrived guest stars or Homer being hurt over and over. Here, the tone is a dark w/cynical humor that's based on the characters and how they relate to the world and each other.

’Tis The Season
Every year our minds and souls embrace a period of giving, a time when we think of others and spend time with family and friends. For many though there is no time off. They have to work or are on emergency standby to help those who have accidents.
Then there are those who have nothing to share, no money to buy gifts, who can only give the love in their hearts to others. Those are the greatest gifts.
We all know someone that could do with some love this season. Knock on a door or make a phone call, share a meal or just make someone a cup of tea and listen to their stories. We will all benefit from giving others a little of our time.
Claude x Sebastian >Yaoi black butlerSebastian enters his room and starts removing his shirt. He's had a long day of work and would like to rest up a bit before the next day of putting up with ciel. "Hello Sebastian" say two voices sebastian whips around to find grell and claude standing there staring at him. Sebastian quickly pulls his shirt back into place "Do you always intrude into other people's rooms while their undressing?" He asked. Grell wrapped his arms aroung himself "OH BASSY! I JUST LOVE IT WHEN YOU PLAY HARD TO GET!" At this claude grabed sebastian and pushed him onto the bed sebastian kicked and tried to get claude off of him but grell joined in and together they removed sebastian's clothing. "He dosen't seem that hard to get." Claude remarked pleased that he'd gotten sebastian tied up. Grell pouted for a minute then made a deal with him "However makes sebby MOAN first gets to go all the way with him the loser has to go home!" SORRY IT'S TAKING SO LONG!! USPS raised their rates for people outside the US and I have to make sure I have shipping for everyone in one action. Thank you everyone for your patience. I love you all. (it's true)
I wasn't able to get rid of these books as easily as I was thinking...so I still have them.
I'm running low on the couples books but I still have plenty of the rest.
I'm open back up and would really like to sell them all. Please! 8D
They're super useful and I really want to see people use them. So stop by the store!
The USPS did away with surface to air shipping overseas. That means I, unfortunately, have to charge an additional $40+ to anyone outside of the US (except for Canada, I think). So be aware of that.
How is everyone doing, btw? ...school started and everything else!

be really dedicatedSo, I was drawing at work yesterday (I'm now at WB btw, yay!), when I just looked down, startled, and thought, "This is what I wanted it to look like." I suddenly couldn't fathom how that had happened. Like I don't remember when I got to the point where someone tells me their idea, then I'm able to sit down and just MAKE THAT THING. I remember being someone who couldn't figure out how to do that, and I acknowledge being the me I am now, but where were the two bridged and when did I cross? This whole week has kind of been like that - me thinking about the person I was when I joined this site and the person I am today.be really dedicated1 year ago in Personal More Like This

Rest assured no artwork will be removed from the archives! However, from now on we no longer will accept artwork where werewolves are depicted as bloodthirsty monsters. All submitted artwork should show werewolves in a positive light, as the noble, majestic, misunderstood warriors of nature that they truly are. The real horror, after all, is the human side of werewolves - ugly, wimpy, cruel, environmentally destructive hairless apes. That's why we also will not accept art unless it portrays werewolves as fully-furred with long-snouted, perfectly lupine faces, pawpads, and tails (basically, no human features besides bipedality, thumbs, and dreamcatchers or feathers woven into their flowing manes to show that, like the noble, majestic, misunderstood Nativ

The “alternative universe” has long been a sci–fi trope, usually simply a good–guy bad–guy heroes and villains reversal. Like the Star Trek episode (“Mirror, Mirror”) in which a transporter glitch lands Kirk on an evil pirate “parallel universe” Enterprise where Spock is a goateed murderer with mutiny on his agenda. But real scientists have complicated things considerably, with “string theory” positing at least eleven (and possibly an infinite number) of “alternative/parallel universes.”
Once upon a time, we pondered our relative insignificance as sin

Stockers you should knowHey people! So, one of the many questions I get asked about how to improve figure drawing is where to find a suitable model. In a perfect world, friends and family members would sit for us artists for hours on end, however that's highly unlikely especially if you're looking for an "actiony" pose! Also, those of you who are just beginning to draw the figure need to do so from a human model. Drawing from life is, once again, ideal, but stock photos are the next best thing. Plus I'm always harping about dA's great stock so this is the list of some of the absolute best figurative/pose based human stockers on dA:Stockers you should know2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
