sometimes, i wish i could forget the smell of your skin and the shade of your eyes and the sound of your breathing and the sound of your voice, whispering in the dark.
sometimes, i wish the guy in my memories - counting the clouds with me, climbing out my window under the stars, trying to throw rocks past the horizon, holding me, saying iloveyou- was just a faceless black shadow.
because maybe then remembering wouldn't hurt so much.
ii. i watched a t.v. show today.
in it, this beautiful girl won the lead part in some ballet performance. the dance hall was full of mirrors. she was dancing and laughing and crying in all of them.
and i have no idea how that feels; what she was feeling. and for a moment, i wished i did.
iii. everywhere i go, i feel out of place, awkward, and lonely. it's like i'm the piece of the puzzle that doesn't fit, no matter how hard you try to make it belong.
so tell me, please - where do i belong?

7 Usernames to stop makingUser names with more than one extra "X":7 Usernames to stop making5 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
Okay, these names were unique when they were first spawned from some Goth kid's head, but X's don't make your user name look cool any more. It makes you look like some emo/goth wannabe who is just looking for attention.
User names with random numbers on the end:
When you type in a desired user name but it's already taken, the computer makes names as suggestions, like instead of JohnSmith, you're J.smith, SmithJohn, Johsmi, JohnSmith233... etc. The list can go on. Just because you want your "desired" user name, doesn't mean you need to memorize pi.
User names that are just misspelled words:
Misspelling used to be cool, now it's not. Nobody cares if you type "da" instead of "the" or use extra letters. If the best thing you can come up with for your user name is a word, the

The dynamic between core staff, volunteer staff, and the community can at times be pure quality dArama.
It's worth noting that for years I've worked pretty hard to remain neutral on community politics. Today, I'm going to shatter that concept.
Needless to say, I am extremely politically aware of the inner workings of the deviantART community. I read *a lot* of journals, comments, forums, chat rooms. I have fake accounts. I spy.
But I don't spend my time talking politics, instead I focus internally at deviantART designing technologies and implementing understandings with core staff to address the issues I see pop up.
It's time to take a moment to be a bit more petty.
In the inner workings of our politics exists the soul of deviantART. What is this place? What was it meant to do? What does it do? What could we do better? And it's the politics that give insight into how well the greater plan is running.

The kiss of an Angel
On my skin
My burns, my sins
No pain resides
Just gentle tears
And welcome Life
So spin around
Look and see
All the Love
You have for me
A soft rain
On my tender heart
Like a balm
A brand new start
A chance to love
A chance to see
All You have
Planned for me
I've felt a change
In my soul
A heart grows out
Love grows in
And in Your mercy
I live again
