Formation of the Time VortexThank you for visiting my journal entry,Formation of the Time Vortex3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This concept is based on the comic and TV series Doctor who, special consideration is to be given to Writer; Alan Moore and Dave Lloyd.
It was an arduous task that our space fleet was attempting to accomplish. My colleague and friend known commonly as Omega, had determined that the formation of a wormhole that spanned the length of the entire universe would allow us access to any point in spacetime. It would require a tremendous power source. It was determined that the star in the constellation of Ao, known as Qqaba would make the best choice for our experiment. Our ships were protected by a shield technology called a Statis Halo. This combination of Negative energy and deflector shielding based on Tachyons, kept our ships from being sucked into the resulting blackhole. This Halo also allowed our ships the ability to remain relative to in real time, relative time to Gallifrey, as the compressed spacetime swirled from the event horizon below. It

An Incredible WinLast weekend (Sept. 20th) I watched in awe, humility, and surprise as I won the Federal Duck stamp. The duck stamp is not a postage stamp, but a conservation and hunting stamp, 98% of the sale of which goes directly to buy and protect wetlands. This is a very huge, prestigious event and is the only government-run art contest! I am only the third woman to ever win, and this is only the third time ruddy ducks have been selected. An Incredible Win1 year ago in Personal More Like This

Hello Ladies! This is an invitation for all of my female family members at :iconNoldorinFamilyStore:Hello Ladies!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
As you know, :icondreams-of-arda: is FINALLY getting married to his long suffering fiancee', Amarie. As maid of honor, the responsibility of organizing a hen party has fallen to me. Therefore, all the Noldorin ladies are invited to attend .
After much brainstorming, and a bit of Googling, I propose that we meet for a fun, carefree night of girl-bonding time. Most of us have spent too much time lonely, dead, or both, so it's time for some pampering! Let's break out the fingernail polish and jello shots.
I thought it might be fun to play a couple of games, such as "Never have I Ever." Does anyone have any questions they want t be sure are asked?
:iconGlorrosaelin: has generously offered to bake a cake. Any other help or suggestions are welcome!
ooc: I liked :iconLadyBrookeCelebwen: 's idea of writing a story, but I am not going to promise anything spectacular.

Massive Star Wars Collab - Almost finished! Here's our finished work! Thanks for contributing everyone!Massive Star Wars Collab - Almost finished!7 months ago in Personal More Like This
For this collab, we will be drawing all the Star Wars characters we can!
:iconattention-plz: PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES BEFORE SIGNING UP! I don't want you to draw a character and not be allowed in because you missed a rule. ;_;
You don't have to be part of the group to join in the collaboration, but it's HIGHLY recommended at least for the duration of the collab because if I have any updates or new rules, I'm going to send the message here.
Any Star Wars character can only be in the collab once. In other words, if someone has already taken him/her/it, then you can't sign up them again.
When we're done, Zimeta will put together all the individual characters onto one big mural, much like her previous collabs:
Traditional or digital mediums are fine.

"Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain (pronounced "sah-win").
The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture. Samhain was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and prepare for winter. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and cause havoc such as sickness or damaged crops.
The festival would frequently involve bonfires. It is believed that the fires attracted insects to the area which attracted bats to the area. These are additional attributes of the history of Halloween.
Masks and costumes were worn in an attempt to mimic the evil spirits or appease them."

I am very happy to inform you that I'm back from my distant travels and that my Mirkwood Embassy is once again open!
I've got a lot of catching up to do, but worry not, a lot of #majesty is coming your way!
Hopefully, as "The Desolation of Smaug" and the extended "Unexpected Journey" draw near, I'll be able to stun you with some up-to-date thoughts about his #majesty's upcoming impressive adventures.
So – as always – stay tuned for more and thank you for your endlessly heart-warming support! As you know, being a constantly Peckish Owl , I enjoy feeding on your comments and the ones I enjoy the most are these in which you thank me for utterly destroying your watchings of "The Hobbit" (you're welcome!) since you fail to restrain from laughing out loud even during the most dramatic moments of his #majesty's majestic journey (the pleasure's all mine!).
What can I say?

Concept ArtHi everyone,Concept Art5 months ago in Personal More Like This
Just a little update. I've been hired as a Head Concept Artist for Ferocity Unbound Core Studios to work on the MMO in development, Sacrament. We are an indie company just starting out and we are very excited for the game and world we are creating. Currently, I've been working on the Racial and Creature designs and I might be posting some of that work here once appropriate.
In other news, I've been keeping busy with my Digital Painting class. We are in week three now, the first two weeks having focused on Film Studies and Textures. This class is very challenging for me as, most of you know, I am mostly a line artist/inker. I am enjoying the challenge however, as I've been needing to improve upon my Digital Painting for quite some time. My Instructor, Jeremy Fenske, is a real professional and his video critiques of my finished work have been invaluable to my learning so far. If you'd like to see some of Jeremy's work, just google his name. His Elder Scrolls concept p

Role Models: Then and Now
Albert Einstein by SoulOfDavid
There was a time when childhood heroes were real life human beings people dreamed of emulating when they “grew up.” There were sports heroes, famous astronauts, war heroes, political figures, the leaders of social and humanitarian causes, etc..
Then came “Star Trek” which is thought to be a prime mover behind student inte

The “alternative universe” has long been a sci–fi trope, usually simply a good–guy bad–guy heroes and villains reversal. Like the Star Trek episode (“Mirror, Mirror”) in which a transporter glitch lands Kirk on an evil pirate “parallel universe” Enterprise where Spock is a goateed murderer with mutiny on his agenda. But real scientists have complicated things considerably, with “string theory” positing at least eleven (and possibly an infinite number) of “alternative/parallel universes.”
Once upon a time, we pondered our relative insignificance as sin

"NEVER SEEN BEFORE" - big Tolkien themed contest
Details in MirachRavaia's own words:
I recently got a comment on my art which made me realize that there are many scenes and characters in Tolkien's book which almost never get illustrated, while you can find hundreds of illustrations for others. Just a few examples would be
- the events during the Scouring of the Shire
- the Ringbearers arriving and living in Valinor
- Galadriel living in Eregion or passing through Moria to Lórien
- Pippin exploring Minas Tirith with Bergil
- the "lesser known" kings of Gondor and Númenor and Chieftains of Dúnedain
- Túrin attacking Glaurung in front of Nargothrond's gates BEFORE the dragon's look paralyzed him
For this contest, you need to find one that you have NEVER seen illustrated before. I won't give you more examples so you can think of your own, but feel free

Each Chapter’s End
Context is everything. The same photographs and paintings of airport terminals and train compartments and subway platforms that seem so cold and forbidding in contemplation of one’s traveling out into the world, somehow become reassuring in their hard functionality and durability – when thought of as the pathway to the journey back home. Faces of travelers photographed in airports often exhibit muted “Mona Lisa smiles,” masking the direction (to or away from home) that they are headed.
How to Commission an ArtistI've been commissioning artists for a little over two years now, starting with site money on GaiaOnline and moving to dA from there. One thing that's hard for me to ignore is the number of artists who are concerned about being scammed, either because they've gone through that experience before or because the stories and warnings of it happening all the time proliferate. Commissioners have their own concerns about being scammed by artists. The simple fact of the matter is that it happens. How to Commission an Artist6 years ago in Art Features More Like This
However, I think a good portion of the problem is that many people who want to commission an artist have no experience doing so, and it's not as easy to find instructions on it as, say, how to draw anime eyes. That's why I'm making this guide.
It should be noted that while I mention commissioning through other websites now and then, this is meant as to general guide, and all of the examples are from deviantart.com. Also, this does not

Quote by Lauren E. Simonutti
“ The misfirings of my beloved/despised mind that conspire to convince me to destroy all have rendered me housebound and led to a solitary life. A creature of past, proof, memory and imaginary friends, I am aware enough to know the things I see and hear are not real, but that does not mean I do not still see and hear them.”
For a very long time Lauren Simonutti's haunting photographs were a spectral presence amongst
