I stared Dahvie intensively. I changed my position and made a displeased noise as I tried to get his attention.
He wouldn't look at me, he just crossed his arms like a five year old. I sighed and got up from our bed and walked up to Dahvie.
''Dahvieee!'' I said with a sad tone. He just glanced at me. ''Can we please stop fighting? Pleeeeeeease Dahvie?''
''I was right'' he said shortly, still not looking me in the eyes. I was so tired of fighting and all I wanted to do right now was to end this
stupid fight and go to sleep with my loved one.
''Fine, then. You were right, I was wrong. Peter Pan isn't a creep. Now, can we please go to bed?''
Dahvie looked at me with a small smile on his face and opened his arms.
''Aww Jayy'' he said and hugged me tightly.
''I love you'' I murmured in his ear.
''I love you too, now and forever''
What is art? There's a lot of deviations on the front page that I check out just so I can read the comments. What is art?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
A lot of users seem to think they can define what is art and what isn't, and this never fails to infuriate me.
Have these people ever been to any art galleries? A lot of popular modern art looks like it's been drawn by 5 year olds in 5 minutes, while classical art all looks exactly the same. Maybe they should go visit some museums and start shouting "not art, herp derp" until they get thrown out.
If stuff you don't like makes the front page, it means there's an audience for that sort of stuff, in which case you should be blaming DeviantArt's user base rather than insulting the artists. Funnily enough, unoriginal Pokemon and Pony crap doesn't get as much hate as a lot of nude stuff. I wonder why. (*coughpersonalinsecuritiescough*)
Wikipedia's definition of art is: "Art is the product or process of deliberately arranging items (often with symbolic significance) in a way that influences and aff

I'm an Atheist. Deal with it.You wouldn't think being Atheist would influence your day to day life as much as being Christian (or Muslim, or Jew, or Hindu, ad infinitum) influences a Christian's day to day life. There are no rituals to perform, aside from those you appoint yourself. No prayers to be said, no verses to be read, or rules to be followed. I wake up, kiss my boyfriend, take a shower, eat something, go to work, talk and laugh and chat with customers, hug people, and then come home, kiss my boyfriend some more, and unwind in various ways.I'm an Atheist. Deal with it.3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
It sounds rather simplistic, and in practice it is. What complicates my life as an Atheist are the things I'm not supposed to say. The most important thing I'm not supposed to say is that I am an Atheist. One of two things happens when I tell people I'm an Atheist: 1) They smile and shake my hand, happy to meet someone with a similar world view or 2) They argue with me. The latter usually happens, as I live in an area that's rather dominated by religious communiti

Knowing When to Put the Foot Down and Say NoI have a number of things I want to say on this topic, but before I do, there's this quote:Knowing When to Put the Foot Down and Say No2 years ago in Personal More Like This
"Some of you are continuing to buy books you don't like. Some of you, I would venture, have been doing this for years. I direct this, with all the lovingkindness in my soul, to you:
The time has come to stop doing that.
Stop playing on their terms.
Because they've got you, and they know they do, because they've had you for years in some cases. They're holding you by the short-and-curlies, because they know, they absolutely know that if they publish something with "Bat" in the title, or the letter "X," or the word "Spider" you will buy it, and you will keep on buying it no matter its quality. No matter if they're ignoring you, or if in some instances they've even gone so far as to outright insult and dismiss you.
This isn't an indictment of any particular story or event or character or creative team or anything like that. For every story that someone loves, there's som
On the Subject of Claws and Long NailsCreatures from myth with long, sharp nails, claws, or talons is nothing new. Same goes for characters from popular media and original characters. However, some time ago I read an article featuring an interview with Ralph Fiennes (the actor who played Voldemort in the Harry Potter film series). For the role, he had these fake nails glued on and, interestingly enough, said he had to avoid making a fist or else the nails would break off (I think you can also notice during the films there's a sort of delicacy to how he even holds his wand and generally gestures with his hands because of this)On the Subject of Claws and Long Nails3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This was interesting to me because:
1) It got me thinking of how all these characters with long nails and sharp claws (unless they were somehow retractable) could manage to make proper fists and do all these action sequences where they're punching each other and doing anything else that involves gratuitous and dramatic hand clenching.
2) It likewise made me wonder how these characters could go around
Anatomy BooksCan anyone recommend any really good anatomy books, I've heard of them, in folklore and stuff, but whenever I'm in the enchanted forest of Bukstorre, the creatures always evade me. I thought I spied one swinging from a lofty branch, and swiped it with my net. But on closer inspection, it was a terrifying medical anatomy book, with pictures of organs and things, which is often the case, and at that the creature chuckled cruelly and clambered back to the tree boughs it called home.Anatomy Books3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I heard titters from behind the bushes, cruel whisperings designed to confuse. As my mind tried to fathom the distant sounds, I deduced rumors of the creature I seek. "But where?" I panted "at what price?". The air was still and I was abandoned. I clutched my bag of coins tightly to my chest, and swore a promise to it. That it would not go wasted on unnecessary quests. Determined to consult the oracle for direction, I transcended to the Web of Wonder, and sought an audience with the oracle of art, who knows wh

Skyward Sword Thoughts/ReviewI was alternating between watching and playing with other people, but given how long it's dragging on and how finals are imminent, I just gave in and gorged myself on spoilers.Skyward Sword Thoughts/Review3 years ago in Personal More Like This
At this point, I'm going to have to assume that I'm a part of the minority of people who weren't indignantly foaming at the mouth over GameSpot's Skyward Sword rating of 7.5. Personally, I think the score of the game itself could have been a smidgeon higher, but I don't think it's as quite as deserving as a number of the 10/10 scores floating around out there make it out to be. I thought some of the flaws pointed out in GameSpot's review were justified. Yes, the plot is somewhat interesting, the graphics and setting are colorful (although it seems more like redux of Twilight Princess with watercolor splotches and tinges here and there), but it's still a lot of the same you've seen in previous titles and the Wii-mote controls seem to be mostly hit-or-miss depending on how you like it (and even then it still feels

Passion for Art'Passion', I use to hear this word from lips of people that love what they do, from people that work hard, from people with ideals. They don't need to look weird or fantastic, wise or intelectual, they are just normal people. People that are in love with their work.Passion for Art2 years ago in Personal More Like This
'Passion', like when we drew for first time, when we were kids taking a notebook trying to fill these pages with our heroes, the things we wanted, we dreamed, our house, our family, our pets, etc.
'Passion' like first time somebody broke our heart and just a piece of paper and a pencil could console us. Like when our parents argued and we felt so frustrated having nothing to do just to define our rage in some doodles.
It's like something that comes from us without asking for permission, it just appears and burns, we don't search for it, it is something that we "suffer" but is according to our actions, our work, our effort. it is stimulated for the things that move us.
I hated art many times and I loved

Each Chapter’s End
Context is everything. The same photographs and paintings of airport terminals and train compartments and subway platforms that seem so cold and forbidding in contemplation of one’s traveling out into the world, somehow become reassuring in their hard functionality and durability – when thought of as the pathway to the journey back home. Faces of travelers photographed in airports often exhibit muted “Mona Lisa smiles,” masking the direction (to or away from home) that they are headed.

You use smileys and emoticons by writing :icon((insert the name here)):
For example: [Bullet; White][Bullet; Red][Bullet; White][Bullet; Red][Bullet; White]
You want to use this one -->:iconpinkballoonplz:
[Bullet; Blue] 1) Click on it or rightclick and open it in a new tab -->
This will open it´s page, so you can read the name clearly and find some more smileys
[Bullet; Blue] 2) Type : icon pinkballoonplz : Without the spaces!

Fictional characters existReposting from Tumblr: (Where a lot of people say things like "crying over fictional characters that do not exist.")Fictional characters exist2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Someone please explain to me how characters being fictional makes them not real?
When you start a project, it takes on a life of it's own. Have you noticed that? Doctor Who, Supernatural, Harry Potter anything. It's SO much bigger than the people that created it. Sure, the creator is the one that started the process and put out the content, but the project grew far beyond what they were capable of doing.
In fanfiction the characters still grow and experience new things but they are still, essentially the same person. It's just different versions or universes.
We've come to know these characters so much better than we could ever know another person, because we are privy to the character's thoughts unlike with other people. The impressions that we get of these characters are that much more realistic and deep and because we do not need to worry about their reac
