Dark art is, by definition, meant to be unsettling, disturbing, it’s an art style that deals with dark, horrific, sinister, nightmareish or gothic themes. It illustrates concepts that are related to man’s innermost fears.
Here are some of the most inspirational pieces here on DeviantArt that fit this particular style. However, these are but a fraction of the dark artists out there, that is why I would like to continue this feature on a weekly basis and showcase some of the darkest works around.

Today, May 25th, I have been on deviantART for 10 years.
That's utterly insane. A decade of my life has been lived out on here, and I don't regret a second of it :3
dA has changed, it has been the trigger of rage for me many a times, but it's also been the place where I've met some utterly wonderful people.
If it wasn't for dA, I would have never met :iconrustyrainbow: who so kindly invited me to her home and we got to draw and mock all the shizz together in my teenagerdom <3 and, weirdly enough, who introduced me to the partner I have today!
If it wasn't for dA, I would never have met :iconthesylverlining: that day in the complaints forum, and wouldn't be able to brag about having a really talented friend in film and theatre
If it wasn't for dA, I might not be drawing. I definitely wouldn't have a customer base that I have now, and I might have just given up!
