The Tin Woodsman watched as his friend, the Scarecrow, kept pacing first one way, and then back, in the field. He had been at it so long that he was starting to create a rut. And still the Scarecrow paced, a daisy flower clutched in one hand. Both hands were gesturing expressively as he talked to himself.
The Cowardly Lion ambled up to where the Tin Woodsman leaned against a fence. The Lion flopped down next to him, and proceeded to watch the Scarecrow silently for a while, as well, until he finally spoke up.
"What's happened to Scarecrow? Have his brains gone bad?"
