Similar Deviations
The moon sets its blade upon my head
Lighting the depths of my empty soul
I am not alive, neither am I dead
Inside my mind's castle hollow bells toll
But when the wind blows its howling horn
Among the void you will be reborn

And when I feel your life in my veins,
The shattered sun will shed its bloody tear
Entangled by the endless beginning's chains
I'll silently whisper into your ear
That as I was once lifeless and torn
Within you in darkness I will be reborn

Technical info:
This work was done for Epilogue's "Season of Renewal" contest.
I've spent around 25 hours on this. Used tutorials for patterns, inspirations, refs for pose, dead body, studies of G.Burns, as well as the dress pattern from one of my older works... As the work was smaller, you might see some pixelation in a few parts of it, which I'm really sorry about.
Poem written in around 2-3 hours It's not too long but the contest rules forbid writing too long descriptions for pictures, hence the 2 "paragraphs".

This artwork, along with Samael, will be available as a printout, if I will someday miraculously get the prints account :)

PS. Yeah title is from Malice Mizer XD

PLEASE READ THE INTRO FIRST!
Two lovers set apart by the God's enviousy, who trapped the boy for eternity in the misty forest. Lead by delusive hope, the girl begged the Gods to let her into the forest to find her beloved. For the girl's sadness and desperair were so overwhelming, the Royal Spirits agreed.
Without sleep or rest she has been searching for him throughout day and night.
Soon, as the months passed by, out of loneliness and obsession, the girl began to lose her mind. She is now speaking with trees and flowers, hearing her lover's voice in the nightingale's song, seeing his shape in blades of grass.
Her once great love turned into hatred, as in her madness, she has blamed the boy for the whole misery she was going through. She is now therefore hunting him, seeking revenge for her disastrous fate.

***
I'm searching for you - where are you my dear?
Is it your warmth I felt in the wind's morning breath?
And if this riven thunder was your cry of fear,
Was it me you were calling in the face of death?

I'm waiting for you - where are you my dear?
I loved you so badly you tore me apart!
But did you see my bitter tears,
when with starlit madness you have crowned my heart?

I cannot find you - where are you my dear?
You whipped me with sin and shattered my skies!
But my entity's rememberance will find you here,
and rusted cry will burn in your stoppered ears
Howling lullabies

So uhm yeah, I present my newest work...
It took me a long long time to finish, but at the end I am very proud of it. You will also be able to buy a printout of it soon...

Technical info: ~50hrs for the drawing process, ~3hours for the poem&story, lots of refs fo bg, lots of problems with textures ;)

Lately I have been working on a series of tutorials for IMAGINEFX by Future publishing.
This artwork was made specifically for the Gown Painting and Decorating Tutorial.

The tutorial covers the detailed process of painting the whole dress, starting with a basic sketch to coloring and decorating with lace and embroidery.

So... if you want to see how this was done, check out IMAGINEFX Issue 3! :)

The image was done in Painter 7 with some aid from Photoshop CS2 (stone textures); around a week of hard work ;)

Here's some closeups:

Ok DA was mean to me and fusked my account totally when I tried to upload (and then delete) this pic. Grrr.
Anyway, that's a pic I've done for an art magazine contest (and was one of the winners)...
Fully in Painter, BG(castle) ref'd. :)

EDIT: Ok, about some comments I recieved: this is NOT the image I submitted to the DA FeatureME contest ;)

This artwork is the newest and last one I will submit in a long time to teh Deviantart community. I will probably be involved in an illustration project and will not be able to submit my artworks before the book I draw for will be published.

Anyway:
This is my probably most detailed work I have ever done.

It took my a month of non stop work, but I am pretty satisfied with the outcome.

It was a commission and the character is copyrighted to Lisa Lassiter. :)

I cannot count how many hours it took me, but well, MANY.
Everything painter, several references used and the fields on the bg are pretty manipped being honest cause I got lazy ;]

Anyway I hope you enjoy the picture, comments are always welcome!

Ah, it's been a long while, hasn't it :) I have a new cast for my right wrist which allows me to paint, so here is the next from the Sins :)

GLUTTONY is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

Why didn't I draw anything disgusting? Well, I wanted to prove myself I can keep to the original "idea" of a glutton, WHILE making the character aesthetic, pretty and (in her way) attractive. I wanted to prove the modern "pretty=thin to the bone" standard wrong. ;)

Some symbolic explanations:
Abundance of textiles - I treat this sin not only as eating and drinking, but consuming in it's wider meaning, such as buying and gathering useless things etc
Grapes - "luxury" goods, connected with lavish parties (in ancient times) etc
The pink colour theme - reminds me of grapes, sweets etc :)

I hope you like this one, as it was definitely the hardest one to balance and get "right".

A sketch created mainly for the purpose of practicing lighting turned out to look quite ok, so I ended up finishing it. I had loads of fun painting this one and it went along rather smoothly, too :)

For those of you who read descriptions, here's a link to some screenshots I've taken during painting: [link]

Created fully in Photoshop with a little bit of Painter.

Oh, paint the white of my wedding dress grieving black
For a widow I am, not a bride!
Mourning over my youth forever buried in the depths of these tombs,
As a flower dies without a sip of dew,
I wither away without the warm breath of my beloved sun.

Well, that's an outcome of a non stop few day work. I have decided, that I need to work a LOT on the anatomy and skin shading of my characters, and so I tried, in this one, to work the hardest I can on it.
I have done a lot of studies (mainly consisting of looking at myself in a mirror ;P), tries etc before even beginning to work on this.

I cannot, unfortunately, publish a full WIP of the work, as it's going to be published soon, but I am still sharing some sketches and closeups and a tiny tutorial :)
