Some artwork being prepared at a hectic pace for the comicbook challenge's pitch...

Imagine if you will...

Japanese had this ancient techniques for creating bonsai trees, right? Well, why not apply them to bamboo? Make it grow whatever size they wanted... it's light and extremely resistant... natural pistons can be made from it... it even can grow an inch a day... an extremely light, incredibly hard and flexible armor could be made... Lisa made one.

I KNOW it would work, I can feel it...

I'm sick.

This was done for a concept art book that suddenly went to the limbo...

A bit rusty, but I'm trying to get some concepts done in these three weeks. Speed paintings or something.

Some day, when I get to be old and rich and with plenty of free time, I'll illustrate my version of the war of Troy... and it will look quite different from Brad Pitt's...

It's been a while since I've done color work (well, about two weeks... but that's a lot when the San Diego Con is three months away)... and this one has been traced for almost a month...

Anyway, when that happens I gotta start again by the book: warm light, cold shadow, everything thought out, so I get back in track.

Another chapter in my ongoing quest for the perfect robot...

Oh, and the background sort of is a Guanajuato street... it doesn't do the place justice.

Here at home we use to feed hummingbirds, they're coming all day.

I don't think I need to stress this is one of my favorite themes ;)

El Santo (The Saint) was the most famous wrestler in Mexico... probably you've heard of him. He starred in about 50 movies, pretty much ranging from B to Z, but they have quite a cult following. Vampire women and martians, baby.

This was done for an art show, to conmemorate the 25 anniversary of his death. It's also my favorite experiment in coloring directly over pencils.

Hope you like it...

Ever heard that story? It's one of my favorite mysteries, some weird character that haunted the streets of London in the late 19th century (named after the other famous Jack)... they described him (or it) as wearing a cape and silver helmet, with red glowing eyes and the ability to jump at superhuman heights...

Love that kind of stories...
