Plasma is held in the four canisters mounted to the top of the weapon. The plasma is pulled into the main portion of the weapon, cycled through the tubs and sent to the back of the gun. When fired, the gun presses back firing a high temperature energy bolt that can cut through anything in it's path until cooled.
So, after taking a brake from mapping UV's I relized that the texture didn't hold up... Que a reworked diffuse and normal map. With the new normals maps I baked in the bolts, and that cut the poly count down to 7k.
How it works:
The rear of the rifle contains 3, 220 gram Palladium plates. When the deuterium gas, stored in the clip, is forced over the plates, at a pressure of 31,026,407.8 pascals, fusion takes place. Converting the deuterium gas into both heat and helium. The heat is gathered into 3, 9,000 faraday, 300 volt capacitors. The helium is moved to the breech of the barrel. The stored engery is releaced, in under .003 ms, down 2 rails on either side of the barrel. It Ionizats the helium creating a .3 meter stream of plasma, able to burn 1.7 cm holes into plate steel.
