The sky was pitch black, the earth blood red. I was a kitsune, perched on a rock in a dry, desert mesa. I licked one of my paws, and looked around. A while ago I had thought I was on the bellfry with Neshae. But it seems that was but a dream, and I had to wake up sometime. I didn't wake up in my bed, but alone on the bare clay of the mesa. I explored in the dark of the night, until eventually I wound up where I was now, on a small boulder wondering where I was. I looked around, but the steppe of the mesa was empty of animals, with only a few strands of grass and a tree or two. Reminded me of a slightly desolate Arizona. I miss that state...
