An empty Mountain Dew can sits boldly on my beaten and bruised computer desk. It's metallic green curves reflect back at me with resent. The can is a soldier, and I - the enemy dictator. Already, the white dollar store trash can next to my desk is the eternal resting place to seventeen cans. Purple hearts for them all. Bravo. My nerves are on end, electric with caffeine. An acid tasting ocean fills my stomach, and my head feels heavy. Tossing my hair has become a risk I'm not willing to take. Long blonde strands stick to the light moisture on my back. Breathe in, breathe out. When did the simple task of inhaling become such a pain in the ass? A dull fan blows dank air, in a pathetic attempt of cooling me. Dust and dirt clings to the blades. The room is now polluted. Thank you very much, you pathetic hunk of plastic. Absent mindedly, I throw the can at the spinning blades. It hits with an ear splitting clink, and spins back at me at an amazing speed. The dented alum

The signal was being interrupted by the thunderstorm that was rumbling fiercely outside shaking the base with thunder. He shook his head, trying to find a stronger signal when he picked up an even better signal.
A bright smile crossed his faceplate as he quickly silenced the radio station and stood from his rooms wall.
Wow you look great Prowl.
He said, smiling brightly at the Datsun that was coming down the hall. Prowl gave his partner a faint glare, covered from helm to foot in mud and rain.

I have received your permission slip featuring what I can only assume is a levitating rabbit about to drop an egg on Jesus. Thank you for pre-ticking the permission box as this has saved me not only from having to make a choice, but also from having to make my own forty five degree downward stroke followed by a twenty percent longer forty five degree upward stroke. Without your guidance, I may have drawn a picture of a cactus wearing a hat by mistake. As I trust my offspring's ability to separate fact from fantasy, I am happy for him to participate in your indoctrination process on the proviso that all references to 'Jesus' are replaced with the term 'Purportedly Magic Jew.'

Skyfire? Jazz watched the scientists optics flicker as the mech fought to come back online. He crouched down next to him and cocked his head. Skyfire? You Ok, big guy?
The jet looked up at the ceiling, and then at the Porsche next to him, looking very dazed - and smiled. Jazz sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. It was the same huge smile he could all but guess Wheeljack was usually hiding behind his faceplate whenever the Arks Senior Engineer managed a particularly spectacular stunt even if he was the only victim. The fact that Skyfire was sprawled on the floor of Wheeljacks lab did not bode well for the Porsches peace of mind.

Most merely grinned knowingly at one another. Someone had obviously pushed the wrong button on a certain medic. Once one considered the fact that the twins were presently out on patrol, it really only left one mechanism who managed to wind Ratchet up on a regular basis.
"--insane, imbecilic, ideological, ignorant... GAH! Why today of all days, Wheeljack!"
Said scientist was standing sheepishly in the doorway, dripping fluids from one hand while three newly-detached digits sat sparking in the other. His headfins flashed a soft shade of pink in embarrassment as he scratched the side of his blackened face.

Sometime after theyd gotten home from welcoming Bluestreak to the world, Ratchet and Ironhide went about their usual schedule of getting the twins refueled and ready for recharge. Once that was done, the two of them retired to the main room of their living unit, where they sat down to relax. Itd been a long solar-cycle and it did Ratchet a world of good to just sit back with Ironhide.
Ironhide had switched on the vid-screen to a low volume. Neither he nor Ratchet paid much attention to the report feeds that were played at the end of the solar-cycle, but the sounds made for good background noise while they relaxed. Ratchet was curled up against his mate as they sat, a cube of mid-grade cupped in his red hands. Ironhides arm was wrapped warmly around the medics shoulders with a cube of his own energon in his other hand.
It was a quiet evening, well-deserved. The two adult mechs finished their energon cubes slowly, content with spending time with

This winter snow has barely fallen,
To blanket fields and tops of houses,
They walk around with sandals on,
With Capris and summer blouses.
This spring has brought much crop destruction,
As frost comes in between the blistering days,
And the nights bring snow and sleet and hail,
And the days bring tourist swimmers to the bays.
This summer has brought a hungry drought and more,
The animals are dying as are the trees,
Earthquakes hit the cities and towns aplenty,
While hurricanes strike us from the seas.
This morning I went for blueberries to pick,
Nothing but withered leaves could I find,
Slowly I stood and looked around at nature,
And I wondered, how could I have been so blind?

Ironhide & Ratchet ponder a bit together - and some squishies at the end.
It was the nightmares that always got him.
Drug withdrawls, he could handle. Warring with an alien race bent on retreiving a hunk of sentient metal that was supposed to have something to do with a forgotten past, he could handle. But the nightmares, the ones that were full of dark sand, a lingering ghost, and traces of something intangiable he couldn't grasp - that was what made him sit up at night and wish he could stop his heart.
Sweat-sticky hair clung to the side of his face, Ratchet staring dully at the crumpled sheet between his legs. The same dream once more, the invisible cling of blood on his hands. He hated himself for it, how he couldn't overcome this. Sure, taking down the otherworldly creatures known as Decepticons was a troublesome task, but they were something that could be worked around. Vanquished. Conquered and disposed of.
Disgusted, Sebastion slid out of bed, stre

Ratchet was woken from recharge by the sound of crying sparklings echoing through the unit. He groaned and nuzzled against Ironhide lightly. He felt the larger mech put his arms around his waist as the crying continued. It took both of them several breems to realize that the crying came from the sparklings that theyd settled into the room just across from their own. Ratchet on-lined his optics and pushed himself away from Ironhide, getting off the berth and sleepily heading into the other room.
Sideswipe was crying at the highest pitch his vocalizer could manage and Sunstreakers cries were just as loud, if not louder than his brothers. The medic leaned over the edge of the crib and picked up Sideswipe, pulling him close and cradling him. The sparkling slowly started calming down as Ratchet bounced him up and down. Ratchet knew the young mech couldnt be hungry; a quick scan showed Sideswipes energy levels as normal and he had just

Wrapped in the shadowy cloak of darkness.
Our bodies are young and our faces bright,
And yet the songs in our minds are ageless.
All at once, our voices will fill the air,
And the worries of the day will be gone,
As well as the burdens they’re made to bear,
And all of this, due to our magic songs.
We’ll sing of brave men who lived far from here,
And other wonders, unseen by man’s eye.
But when morning comes, we must disappear,
For we don’t linger if light’s in the sky.
Once we leave, none shall ever know our names,
Though in their minds, the bard’s songs will remain.

As the orns passed and the twins became more comfortable with their home and the surrounding area, Ratchet and Ironhide began taking them out of the unit and into the neighborhood more. Sunstreaker was often too busy figuring out his surroundings through other means, putting things in his mouth whenever he got the chance.

Sunstreaker watched quietly with wide blue optics as Ironhides hand took his latest chew toy out of range.
