For those a little slow in the brain, this is meant to be a call out. A call out to IDOL worshipers. A call out to IGNORANT rap fans. A call out to people who have no idea as to why they LIKE and place this man on a pedestal. A call out to the children saying stupid stuff like "Damn, Tupac was the greatest! He was the best rapper alive! Fuck Biggie! We hate him! He killed Tupac! Tupac is still alive!" NO. Even though he is close, Tupac ISN'T the greatest rapper alive. Biggie has NOTHING to do with his death (directly). AND LASTLY: TUPAC IS NOT ALIVE! Don't get me wrong, I love rap and hip-hop in general. That is exactly why I'm doing this. You kids need to know WHY Tupac and Biggie were so important to hip-hop. You need to realize that corporate America is using them as novelty items. And you're buying into it. Buy a Tupac shirt by all means. But you have to know WHY you're buying it. You have to know WHY Biggie and Tupac effected the rap scene in the way they did. In conclusion, a quote from my man Grouch of Living Legends:
"Stop putting Tupac and Biggie on magazines until you understand the significance of why they died."
His music / political views will be missed dearly. Although I was not quite old enough to appreciate him while he was alive, I understand all of what he was expressing. If you are against rap/hip-hop or dislike the genre.. I urge you to listen to the lyrics in a tupac song and your views may change.
