Conclusions for "Sacrifice of the Widow" by Lisa Smedon
Disclaimer: Contains Major spoilers for Sacrifice of the Widow. Do not read unless you have read the book or don't mind having major plot elements revealed.
I finished reading Sacrifice of the Widow and predictably threw the book across the room since I knew the rather painful ending.
Vhaeraun, one of my absolute favorite characters in the Forgotten Realms, is killed by Eilistraee apparently in battle after he tried to sneak into her realm.
In my denial stage, I came up with a few ideas for how this could not have happened. This was followed by a few huge realizations about the nature of the plot and how the pieces fit together.
After an hour or so of pouring through the book, I started connecting a few plot threads and made a realization: Vhaeraun may not be dead.
I could be absolutely wrong on this idea, either reading too much into this or missing the point entirely. Maybe I'

Twas the night before Christmas in this Underdark tale
Not a drow wasn't plotting and their plans could not fail
Each had their agenda for this Christmas Eve night
Though rest assured good readers there WILL be a fight
The drow had a plan to capture Saint Nick
To keep all the toys since they're all little pricks
If Santa would continue to bring them coal every year
Then it was time for this fat man to know some drow fear
Drow: We shall destroy Christmas for one and for all!
Drow 2: And with this the hearts of youths shall fall
Drow 3: Their hero, this Santa, will be dead in no time
Drow 4: Anyone else know why we're speaking in rhyme?
Know well this vile plan did not go without knowledge
Since Rain had been traveling to his Underdark cottage
Misery: I cant believe you have a cottage way down here
Rain: But killing drow fills Rain with such cheer ^_^
Misery: So you say drow plan to kill Christmas, t

Since the dawn of time, or at least since I could remember I have always hated eggs. They taste horrid, bad for you, and impossible to cook, but little did I dream that the eggs in turn have always hated me as well. This morning was different. As I awoke my eyes fell upon the egg standing on my chest. How the egg get its two little black legs and matching arms I don't know, but there it was pointing its makeshift toothpick spear at my head. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would be threatened with physical violence from an egg. I was beginning to think that I was becoming nutty as a fruit cake. I had a sneaking suspicion that the micro waved burrito that I chased down with a bottle of Mountain Dew while burning the midnight oil last night was to blame. Despite that belief I couldn't help but stare and wonder about this odd situation.
I thought to myself, "How could it find its way up the bed without any eyes?"
"Wouldn't you like to know," sou

As now we drift amongst denial
toward our certain fall
Is it better to have loved and lost
than never loved at all?
For every stolen day with you
my heart clings to you more
But I have lost the ones I loved
too many times before
And though Ive put up barriers
to keep my heart held in
I fear that soon before you leave
you may have stole within
I can remember all those times
You said that you would stay
But now I stand alone, inert
and watch you walk away
