In The EndOne dayIn The End4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
the skies will come crashing down.
And there we'll be,
eyes only for the other's,
The stars will strike the earth
in a parade of small explosions
and the sun will fade out,
leaving the world with naught
but the scribbled black edges
of cosmos drawn in comics.
Every drip droplet of vapor
will stop, suspended, and still,
and gaps will widen around us,
teeming with nature's teardrops.
Occurring only in slow motion,
all the buildings will flatten,
the monuments crumble,
a sonic boom will lead the way into silence
Satellites will soar out of bounds,
spinning through endless unknown,
but to some distant outsider
it will all only appear
as a crack in the glass.
Fate will wither, time, break,
withstanding rocks melt to puddles.
All the colors will run together
into a swirled surface like oil paints
but never run dry.
Our auras will be an island,
unnoticed by the ending out the window,
although the only earth left
is in your hair, and on your skin,
Naming Your NovelNaming Your Novel7 months ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
*This is also helpful for other types of fiction and possibly even non-fiction.*
Note: How careful you have to be naming your novel depends heavily on if you are planning to sell it, and how you are planning to sell it. If you are an unknown who is self-publishing and you want a lot of people to read and buy your novel, you need to do extensive research on the market. This article only covers a few tips, and I am in no way a publishing expert. But, even if you don't plan on going mass-commercial, that doesn't mean you shouldn't spend some time deciding on a name for your labor of love and I hope this article provides some useful ideas.
Consider important items--does your story revolve around a magical staff, sword or pendant? For example: "The Staff of Alema," "The Sapphire Sword," or "The Destiny Pendant." (I know these are cheesy but you get the idea).
Consider who your protagonist IS--is it an assassin, a magician, an apprentice

I walk, I sit, and gaze so breathlessly
Inhaling this scene of pure tranquility
Such beauty in this moment found
The music to my ears this sound
Of crashing waves and mystery deep
With struggles it intends to keep
I sigh, when thinking of the souls
lost within the deep blue folds
That something tangible, and yet so raw
Can leave you wanting so much more
I tremble as I smell the salt
Mixed with pain and no-ones fault
I look for miles and all I see
Is promise that was meant to be
Amidst confusion and love's sweet hurt
The grains of sand that turn to dirt
Within my hands it seeps to dust
The sadness torn in loss of trust
She is my sea and in whom I confide
My secrets bitter with the angst I hide
Who listens to my torturous words
On gentle breezes once were heard
Her arms of water take me peacefully
Lets me slip within her generousity
My heart is lighter with each step
These memories are forever kept
Within the blue of her embrace
I slip forgotten, without a trace
Surely my lover will thin

His hands grip you in a guilty binge of greed.
He whispers nightmares into your thoughts,
Only for a moment will you feel it. Lay still and I'll allow you to cry.
This moment of your being is forced into damnation.
Evil indulgence arrives uninvited,

Tears dance with the rain of the night,

Frail body of a child, torn into a canyon of horror.

The soft touch of rape is placed upon your cheek,

.....A Little Problem_FanficI need a drink lamented Roy as he sat on the edge of the bed, head in his hands as he tried to fight back the throbbing pain that threatened to consume the inside of his skull. He stared down between his fingers at his now modified pants; he had been forced to roll the legs up several times just to keep from tripping in them. He also had to make a few extra holes in his belt in order to cinch it up as far as possible to keep his pants from falling down. As for his jacket, he had to discard it in lieu of a simple white tank top. As softly as water droplets gliding down a petal
From gravitys gentle pull
When you dissolve me in your romantic metaphors
As sugar does when stirred in warm liquid
With its sweetness melting through
When your lips meet mine in an ethereal kiss
Embodying loves sweet languor
As our hearts diffuse
I see the world through rose-coloured heart-shaped glasses
Where the bitterness is filtered away from my sight
With my eyes, only capable of witnessing beauty
Im no longer a stranger in a world of spite
For the darkness has been devoured
By the ignition of our loves light
And when love conquers all
There need be no plight
But when the glasses come off
The candor withers away
As I notice your true colours
Im paralysed with dismay
You are not the rose I thought you were
You are the thorns on its stem
We are two repelling forces
And together we breed mayhem
So here I am yet again

I know this,
I've told myself this,
time and again.
I return to you,
and all you have to do
is smile and say my name.
I'm like an alcoholic,
like an addict,
I keep going back
to the one who hurts me most.
I know you can't love me,
not the way that I love you.
I keep hoping, keep wanting
you to love me,
you to want me,
you to need me.
To have you crave me
as strongly as I do you.
This love is poisonous,
so toxic to my heart,
and I still cannot stop.
Even though I know,
you're no good for me.

AsylumLocked in a room,Asylum9 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Bound by knitted strings,
A lone cage,
Steel and cotton,
And long forgotten.
Lost all hope
And all sanity too.
Here comes the nurse.
She's got my pills,
Hallucinations in a cup.
Nurse, hand me the drugs,
Make me Alice in Wonderland.
Give me a forest,
With scary trees,
Give me purple fire lined skies.
Give me liberty,
Or give me death.
Give me the drugs.
Make my personalities grow.
Make my craziness show.
Lock me in the off white room.
Here comes the doctor,
He's bringing me all the shots.
I start to scream.
I vomit heavy blood and
Crouch in a corner
Convulsing and afraid.
Anything but the shots!!
They bring me distorted visions,
They feel so real,
They hurt me so,
Visions of bad memories
And twisted inner demons,
And all my faults.
They've come to get me...
So tie me up in the straight jacket.
Lock me in the room.
I promise on my freshly dug grave,
Just let me escape.
Put me away.
Somewhere they'll never find me.
They can't get me there.

I love to see that smile
The only thing I ask
Is that you stay here for a while
I have something to tell you
I really must confess
Though I am afraid
It could cause one big mess
Its just that when I see you
I get butterflies
Youre the kind of person
That sees right past my lies
You know what I am
That I am not so tough
And that I can be a softy
Though my exterior seems rough
I dont know what it is
That draws me to the flame
But it pulls at my heart
A feeling I cant tame
You arent so strict
Which is why I find it strange
That whenever you speak
I feel I should change
My past doesnt look good
My record isnt clean
Though if it was for you,
I would break this routine
Theres so much I want to put here
But I cant write that long
So I'll finish with one more verse
So you can move along
Whenever you walk by
I supress a blush
I guess what Im trying to say
Is I have a little crush

To pass on to our children with enjoyment heaven sent
Each story has a tale of woe and endings full of dread
They sent us under the covers hiding in our bed
Little Alice was lost in Wonderland
after falling down a hole
Poor Gingerbread was accosted
on a bridge by Mr troll
Peter cried Wolf too many times
and lost all of his sheep
Snow White was envied by a witch
and ended up asleep
The Big Bad Wolf ate Granny
and chased the girl in red
Had Hansel and Gretal being roasted
after losing their crumbs of bread
Poor Cinders had a mean step-mother
and ugly step sisters too
Pinocchio was swallowed by a whale

Sleeping Beauty got her finger pricked

Whilst Goldilocks was scared to death

The stories and their endings are as silly as can be
Nursery Rhymes are just as bad and had me wondering why

Just to hear your name.
The glitter in your eyes
Casts a glow across the skies.
The smile on your face
Causes pain to be erased.
Into the unknown.
My eyes betray me
My cover is blown.
Where is midnight?
The darkness blinds.
The strings of my heart
Around your fingers are 'twined.
Please be gentile
My heart is frail.
What is to be
Will be unveiled.
The GunslingerThe Gunslinger4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
"You mean you ain't never heard of the Gunslinger?"
The bar was almost dead at this time of night, and the question seemed to echo around the room - emphasising the sudden silence, rather than masking it.
"No, boy, I ain't."
Only a handful of stragglers remained, the dregs of the evening clearing the dregs of their whiskeys. The lights shone dimly, and everything moved lethargically in the warm Texas night.
"Well I'll be. I thought everyone 'round here knew the story of the 'slinger'," said one of the stragglers a tall, skinny man wearing a pale cowboy hat. A battered guitar rested on his knee.
"I'm new in town."
They sat at the bar - the musician and the newcomer. The guitarist resumed a lazy melody across the treble strings.
"Oh really?" he drawled, fingers sliding slowly over the fretboard. "And how are y'all finding our little patch of dirt?"
"Whiskey's expensive. Women all look like men," the newcomer replied. "Music's terrible," he added, eying up the musician suspiciously

When I was little I could not believe
How you kept on struggling on days we didn't grieve?
When I was little how could I have known
Your contagious laughter was a sight to behold.
When I was little I would never have guessed
That with such delicate wings you have been blessed.
When I was little I could not feel
How much your weak smiles really reveal .
So tell me, my child, how do you strive
To live each day just to survive.
Your innocent strides will take you far
For in Gods eyes you are the star.
So soar to the heavens with your fragile soul
And there before the gates we will count your toll.
Because when I was little I didn't dare to dwell
That while I live in heaven you live in hell.

FriendshipFriendship is for some easy to understand.Friendship8 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Some count friends just by shaking a hand.
Some call friends people who hang around.
Some of us have friends to no bound.
There are people who see friends as people who they can trust.
Someone who goes through fire if he must.
Someone who you can talk to if there is a problem.
People to who it doesn't matter to them.
A friend who brings a smile to you.
A friend who respects you for what you do.
But a friend will also tell you what's wrong.
He will tell you not to steal something you long.
People have problems seeing people as their friends.
Friends are people who never tend
To bribe you, to lie to you, and never hurt you.
A friend who's there for you too.
A friend who says I love you.
I care a lot about you.
A friend who is always around.
And his love is never out of bound.
Your friend will smile when you meet.
Your friend will smile each time you greet.
A friend comforts you with soul.
A friend makes your heart whole.
You will never feel alon

Tears were streaming down our faces,
Leaving behind their streaky traces.
The love is there. We can see.
But we know, we'll never be.
My Birthday Today is my birthday, I turn sixteen today. Happy birthday to me, from a mental hospital, such a sweet sixteen. Thank god I got level three today, I get to leave grounds for birthday dinner. I was lucky to get approved. I'm glad that the girls on my floor and the boys across the wing made me a present. It is possibly the best I've ever received, from anyone. A box filled with beautiful notes about what's great about me, been here for a few weeks they know enough about me now. And pretty purple paper cranes made from textured paper in my favorite color (I guess they know me better than I imagined). My therapist got me ice cream, sixteen mini cones that I shared at lunch. They were amazing; I haven't had ice cream in a while. The cool taste and creamy texture was familiar, it was delightful. Now the best gift of the day is coming up, I get to see my boyfriend for the first time in, well it seems like forever but I know it's only been a few weeks since he visMy Birthday3 years ago in Stories & Vignettes More Like This

It was a want
I loved the way you made me feel
I'd breathe you in
Filling my body
Clouding my judgement
Destroying my senses
And before I knew
You had a hold over me
It wasn't fun anymore
No longer a want
You became a need
Imperative to my survival
I needed you to feel "normal"
You took control of my mind
You took control of me
I tried to deny it but
You had a hold over me
I came to my senses
I don't need you
I don't want you
I hate the way you make me feel
It was difficult
My body adjusting
Taking back control
And before I knew
I got a hold over you

Grabbing his swords he dashed behind a column broken in half. He slid down farther as the footsteps came closer. As they approached, he heard more footsteps as if two people came closer.
"Great, you said you heard a sword falling", muttered a young man's voice.
"Well, I could have sworn I did", muttered another young man's voice, his deeper than the other.
The boy could hear the first man come closer to him as he grabbed his arm harder. The blood rushed beyond his fingers as he tried his hardest not to gasp. But when he could almost hear the young man breath when everything went black.
