Everything about the Cavern Club was so breathtakingly surreal. Memories in my head dating so far back that they come to me in black and white, stirring my mind, pulsing at the back of my skull to be coloured. Gentle footsteps would carry me in through those fluorescent doors and I'd suddenly be lost in a whirr of girls. Pushing on every side of me, an unbridled expression of hate and shared love; not of each other, probably not of the music-it was all just our anticipation-swirling in a whirlpool full of pineappled heads, splotched on makeup, shrill cries of bliss. Everyone was waiting for them to reveal themselves from behind the curtain.

Unbearable, really. I woke up that morning not feeling good in the slightest.
There was an excruciating pain on the right side of my throat, and it was the first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes. Nearly wincing, I managed to pull myself out of bed and get dressed. Wandering into the next room, I noticed everyone was up already, and I silently scolded the massive headache that was pounding away at my skull. How drunk did I get last night?
