The truth about loving youThe truth about loving you8 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
We called it "friendship" for 5 months (140 days; 3,360 hours; 2,021,600 minutes…)
but I have always wanted more than that.
I wanted chap stick kisses
and to hold your calloused hands
in my own until
"I love you"
sounds like "fuck me" in the middle of the night
when there are tears streaming down my face.
Maybe god exists
and emotions are the last little
slap to the face, because people are worth less than
my thirty-eight cent postage stamp. The one I wear on the inside of my shirt,
just a little to the right of my heart
incase some day you decide I should send it to you.
Some days I spend 23 hours sitting by my mailbox, waiting for that moment.
Loving you was a bad idea from the start
and I knew it.
It never stopped me from touching
Every word I've ever said to you was a lie
You Are MineYou Are Mine9 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
There a million little thoughts running through my mind when you are next to me,
kissing my neck,
whispering in my ear. Your hands rest on my stomach
and chills run up and down my spine.
I can feel your warm breath on my shoulder
as my throat contracts.
It is impossible to breathe correctly with you near.
Teeth nipping skin, and my head goes back
sharp inhale, slow exhale, repeat.
I wonder, can you hear my heart racing?
The tips of your fingers ghost gently up my legs,
and to my chest. Locking into my shirt collar,
slowly dragging it down. Lips venture
to kiss the scar you've come to hate so much.
There are words trapped behind smiles, whispers like
"I've never felt this way
with anybody else" but you bite my lip
and they escape only in
My back arches as you push against me
and pant out pretty words against my ear.
I love you.
Arms go up,
shirt comes off,
and I am more vulnerable than I've ever been.
Your eyes go over every inch,
so suddenly my every fla

A hug is all of these and more
A hug is all I yearn

Harry: Guys, Professor Dumbledore posted a list of words that are banded from Hogwarts. I didn't know that wizards had swears.
Hermione: Of course they do Harry. They're called "Wizard Swears".
Ron: Ooh, like cauldron bum.
Harry: Really? That's adorable.
Hermione: Oh, they're worse than that. Read some Harry.
Harry: Let's see here. Son of a Banshee. That's useful.
Hermione: Swish and Flicker. That's my favorite.
Snape: Ahem. Do my ears detect foul mouthedness?
Hermione: Oh no, Professor Sna-
Harry: Voldemort's Nipple!
Snape: Excuse me?!
Snape: I refuse to have this filth spilled in my presence, Mr. Potter. 500,000 points from Gryffindor.
Ron: Dragon Boogeys!
Harry: Everybody run! Expecto Patronads!
Snape: *sigh* Rabble rousers.
Harry: That was fun. Oh. Hi Neville.
Neville: Hello Harry, Hermione, Ronald. What's up guys?
Ron: We're saying magical naughty words like Jiggery Pokery.
Neville: *gasp* My granmother forbids me from using wraunchy language.

Tears, smiles, and regrets.
Two hundred thirty-three days later and yet no one can forget.
She's heard three excuses
to cover up lies that were told with broken smiles
watching the tears grow by the piles.
Heart beats were listened to through chests
as fingers tapped rhythms
and she pretends to be impressed.
Baby, life isn't so simple.
Hearts break and so do friends,
though all she asks is that you don't pretend.
Don't smile if it's not real.
One kiss to smiling lips.
Two hands rested on swaying hips.
A dance for a moment,
a dance for a lifetime,
and only one last chance
at a love so sublime.
Labaleine, Lasirene, Ezili-Freda-Dahomey.
Names used to make the magic last,
but Love, she's not going anywhere.
Running is in the past.
Her attention is yours, and that she swears.
The sound of your beating heart brings me comfort.
The way your moods change worries me.
Never hide behind your hair.
Never lie to hide how you're scared.

There is nothing but
neatly-pressed clothes that
give witness to this crime.
A pristine macabre;
The death of an Artist.

Comfort than hearing your
Voice over the phone,
The words wrapping
Around me, holding me
When you can't
Loving me when you
Are not near
Allowing me to hold
On until the day you
Come to be beside me
Then day you hold me
The day I feel you
Lips, your hands holding
Me tight, the smell of your
Shampoo and holding you
Tight to me, as I never
Want to have to let you go.
Nothing gives me more
Comfort than you.

Why do you come to me?
You show me great wonders
And undiscovered beauty.
You display for me a magical scene
A place of rescue and freedom
Where peace is a constant
And pain is seldom
I see a sun-set horizon
The sky painted with purple and reds
The sea flows softly with whispers of blue
All stress non-existent, impossible, dead
I see the sand lay still
Soft and comforting on my feet
The wind calmly blows on me
The sand warms me with gentle heat
I lay by the tide's edge
Gazing out into the distance
Wishing I could stay here forever
But soon it's all gone, gone in an instant
Oh returning dream
Why won't you let me sleep?
You present to me beautiful mirages
And promises you cannot keep
Oh please let that place be true
May that place be as tranquil as it seems
One day I shall find that place
I think, I pray, I dream...

"Our hearts are like cherries,
their own separate creations attached at the base.
Though, it would seem to me, we can not be pulled apart so easily."
She says she loves you, so you smile, nod,
and return these words with care.
A smile may etch itself across her face as well, but that doesn't stop her from wondering
from time to time about sincerity.
She mumbles words like "Seven times" for comfort.
For every moment of doubt, there are twenty more filled with wonder, questions such as
"Why would you ever love me?"
She stares at you with eyes like a kitten, curious and wanting love.
You whisper "So pretty"
and those eyes light up with joy for you and only you.

This is shutting down. No one else sees it, because the foam pets are selling nicely. The goldfish are being won. They are playing "Stairway to Heaven" yet again on the Fire Loop. Appealing to the masses.
When she says to me, "the sun is setting," I already know. I close one eye, aim and shoot. Its yellow, dead body loosens its grip on the sky and starts to drop.
"Probably," she says, "no one else is even watching."
I really, truly know what she means, but making words out of a feeling is impossible.
"What... the hell... are people doing?" I ask finally.
The people below us are moving from ride to ride like obnoxious trick-or-treaters. Getting what they want and moving on brainlessly. It's hard to look at something as beautiful as a sunset and not think about all the idiots missing out.
"I couldn't say. Digging their own graves, perhaps? Or throwing up? Or taking pictures in the photobooth?"
"There's a photobooth here?"
My weak spot, but I won't say anything.

It won't disturb me.
The whole beating as one living thing,
To take in our toxins.
Where moss erases sin,
And dirt purifies evil.
Leaves us in this Poison Forest,
Of grasses, weeds, and life.
Working as one, and thinking as two,
The two of life and death,
Each very closely related.
On this world we walk.
What makes us the gods?
The devils, to decide fate unwillingly.
Reluctantly we step, and devastate,
We must be stopped.

Ever carve so deep
[Into your own flesh]
That the blood and skin
Somehow seems beautiful
[Being torn apart]
Do you ever wonder
How something as bitter as death
Seems so right?
I am covered in diamonds and gold
[White gold and
Platinum to be exact]
I have a lubricated heart
That wont seem to hold strong
[If a sexual protection aid. I'd be pregnant.]
I can smell you on my opened flesh
And bleached blonde hair
I have felt you pierce deep within me
Many times before
Calling it beautiful
Words Lacked - MemoriesWords Lacked - Memories9 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I never really realized how much I missed those days
The days of exchanged looks, smiles, words
You say what a wonderful person I was
How much you're grateful to have a friend like me
[Honestly, I've always thought you hated me, along with my childish behavior, then]
You were such a kind soul
You loved to laugh and smile
[Though I always felt something was wrong
Maybe that's why I was so attached, so clingy]
I wanted to light your world, and be that friend
The one you always said you needed
And I tried so hard
But by the end I assumed I had failed
[Only to be reassured that I had not]
You've asked a million times
"What has happened to us
And all that we have shared?"
And all I wanted to do was answer that question
But, I never was able to show my feelings
To me, I had lost a friend
In return came spite of others, others that you were close to, and worse of all,
Anger to you and myself

You were greedy
You let your life slip [a w a y]
I can't recall how many times you said you wanted her
How many times you told us one day you'll be with her
Telling us how happy you'll be, to dance in the trees
[I thought I made you happy]
You took life away from me
You took away love
You left me sitting there… broken
I cried for you
And I wondered, was that what you wanted?
Someone to cry and tell you goodbye?
Just as you did for her
Truth is, I want her too
I missed her just as much as you
I'd love to dance in the treetops
Hear her beautiful laugh
But there's a difference between you and I
I think about the ones I have
Before I make my wishes to f l y
