Thrawn's gaze was turned toward the Calamari artwork, his head tilted slightly to the right. He was silent for a long time.
When Parck started to fidget, he spoke.
"You lost three Dreadnoughts."
The Captain flushed. "Sir."
"One Victory-class Star Destroyer."
He wanted to die. "Sir."
"Fifteen TIE squadrons."
He might get his wish. "Sir."
"And one Interdictor Cruiser."
Parck bit back a groan. "Sir," he whispered.
"I'm sorry? I didn't hear you?"
The human took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Sir," he repeated, louder.
"And that means what, precisely?"
Park's jaw hurt from clenching it so tight. "I lost almost everything we went in with, Sir," he grated out. He forced his hands to relax; a trip to Medical wasn't on his list of things to do today.
"Ninety-five percent of your task force was completely wiped out."
Dieing might be. "Yes, Sir," he sighed, shoulder

The room was boiling. Subterranean was supposedly cooler, and it kept wandering ghouls from stumbling upon them, but it was bloody hot and Integra was soaked with sweat. She'd stripped her jacket off hours ago, and forced herself to drink the water that was only marginally cooler than the air; dehydration was not on her list of things to accomplish. Unfortunately, rebuilding the world was.
She'd prefer a good case of dehydration.
"Where is---" A hacking cough interrupted her and Seras was at her side in an instant. Integra waved her off and took several deep breaths before taking another sip of water. "Where is Alucard now?" she rasped, then grimaced slightly.
"Cheapside, Sir Integral," was the prompt reply. "He's almost finished."
"And his restriction level, Captain Victoria?" the Queen asked.
Seras straightened from refilling Integra's glass and turned to her monarch. "Level two, Your Majesty. Three would probably suffice, but . . . well . . .

You dont have to keep calling me that . . . although I really dont mind.
Seras frowned as Alucard chuckled. Sir Integral wants to see you.
Shes sleeping right now.
And I promised that I would send you to her as soon as youd reported to Her Majesty. She crossed her arms over her bosom and gazed steadily at the other vampire.
Alucard took the stick hed been chewing on out of his mouth and fiddled with it before shrugging. Fine. His gaze slid around the room as he sniffed delicately. And your, ah . . .
Im having him stay outside. Seras followed Alucard toward Integrals room. He seems so put out about it, but what do I tell Her Majesty? Look, maam, I found a Nazi werewolf! Hes house-trained, so c

One month previously . . .
Seras' heart raced as the werewolf's jaws clamped down on her arm. He shook his head like she was a toy and threw her into the wall, spitting out the severed appendage as he lunged for her throat. She reacted on instinct, hunching down as low and quickly as she could, and then pushed forward at the very last second. She rammed her head into the soft underbelly of the monster before her, but her disorientation didn't give her enough force to push through the flesh. He was flung backward instead, twisting in midair to land on his hind legs and leap at her again.
Seras was faster, though, her arm reforming around his legs and tripping him up. He hit the floor hard and then she was on him, her fangs crowding her mouth as her head darted toward his exposed neck. She grasped his shoulders as he struggled, satisfied to hear the joints popping out.
An unearthly howl rang out above the noise of the zeppelin tearing apart and

Mignonette . . .
Seras rolled over and crossed her arms over her chest, not unlike cuddling a comforting stuffed animal.
Oh, Mignoneeeeeette . . .
'It's the middle of the day,' she thought crossly. 'Piss off.'
Look alive, Mignonette --- no pun intended. You have company.
Seras cracked her eyes open and came more fully awake in time to catch the quiet footsteps and controlled breathing of someone doing their level best to be very sneaky. The smell of garlic assaulted her senses and she rolled her eyes.
'How long as he been skulking around?'
Just a few minutes. Can't get his nerve up, poor boy.
'Why didn't you wake me up before? And how are you awake when I'm asleep?'
He was a new recruit to the Wild Geese and hadn't come to terms with her vampirism. He had a religious streak in him, as well, and Seras ha

Walter closed the door softly and sighed.
"How is she?"
He glanced at the vampire with a shrug. "She's had a rough day. Rest will do her good. What happened?"
"How the hell should I know? One moment I'm dead, then there's virgin blood all over me and Richard's trying to kill the girl."
"And then you slaughtered all of them."
Alucard snorted. "I'm not the one who put a bullet in Richard's brainpan. I wouldn't want to taste his blood, anyway."
Walter gave him a sharp look. "Who killed Richard, then?"
He jerked a chin toward the closed door. "Miss Hellsing. I see why Arthur left it all to her. Wasted neither time nor tears on the enemy, blood though he was." There was a small, satisfied smile on his lips. "Yes, she'll be a good Master. A bit young, though."
"She's thirteen. Arthur's been dead three days." Walter's eyes narrowed. "Welcome back, by the way. Nice outfit."
Alucard raised his arms and looked at the straps hanging off of them. "Yes, I always tho

Walter stood by the limo, holding the door open for her.
"Integra! Wait up!"
She stopped and turned, looking back at the boy running to catch up with her. He stopped and leaned forward, hands on his thighs as he panted for breath.
"Winston. What is it?"
He looked up at her and grinned. He was always grinning. "What are you doing for your history assignment?" The young girl raised an eyebrow and giggled, though he wouldn't get the joke.
The dungeon door creaked as it opened and Integra frowned. She'd told Walter to oil it. The lights weren't on, either, and the switch didn't work. The place gave her the creeps.
"Mr. Vampire? Are you there?"
She hated how small and timid her voice sounded, echoing through the dark. She put her hand out to steady herself down the stairway and squeaked as it touched slime on the walls. Her frown deepened. This was no way for the head of the Hellsing family and organization to act. She was Sir Integra Fai

A Multitude of Sins
Bubbles could hide a multitude of sins.
Integra sighed softly and settled back against the neckrest of the clawfoot tub she reclined in, tensing every once in a while before the steaming water relaxed her once more. She closed her eyes and bit her lower lip gently.
There was a knock at the bathroom door. Integra paused, eyes refocusing as she opened them and shifted one leg.
"What?" she asked irritably.
"I've returned," Alucard answered. He'd learned better than to simply walk in on her.
She sighed and rolled her eyes. There was a pause for breath, then she shifted lower into the bath, covering herself to her neck in bubbles. "Come in."
The door opened and Alucard walked up to the bathtub, looking down at her. "The situation was minor; the vampire was dispatched with ease." He paused and tilted his head at her, and she glared at him. "You're red, Master. The water shouldn't be that hot; you'll pass out."
"Is that all?" she snapped.
He looked vaguely

Lose Your Own Game
He bent double, arms crossed over his stomach, shuddering with energy and the dark, pulsing beat of the music heard over the thunder of the storm. His unbound hair obscured his face and piled on the ground, his slender shoulders drew forward, paused as he tensed, and with a gasp of harshly released breath he whipped his body upright and backward. He rocked on his heels as masses of hair flew into the air, up and over his head before falling toward his shoulders.
They never got there. With another gasp his head snapped backward and he rose up on the ball of one foot, whirling in place and letting his arms fling out to the side. He spun faster as he drew them in, and then slammed his other foot down viciously and pivoted again. He continued his actions, twisting and contorting his body, his face screwed up in an expression that may have been pain, might have been ecstasy, could have been despair, and was probably a combination of all.
He was soaked in sweat

Integral stared at herself in her cracked bathroom mirror for several minutes, lost in thought as she studied her eyes and the very stark lines of stress gathering between her brows. She leaned against the sink, her teeth grinding as a fresh wave of nausea came upon her. She turned quickly, throwing the lid and seat of her toilet up before hitting her knees and retching once again into the porcelain bowl. Little resulted outside of dry heaving considering she'd already emptied the contents of her stomach twice within the hour. When it seemed to be over she pushed herself up again, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand before returning to her previous position staring into the mirror.
How could this have happened? How was it even possible?
She glanced at the offending piece of plastic that sat on the edge of the sink.
She closed her eyes, her brows knitting as she bowed her head. She though

He drove the cyborg horse along an old beaten path toward the northeast. It was dark and cold and rainy, just as it always had been. Some things just didn't change. He pulled the wide-brimmed hat further down his forehead to combat the wind as it sprayed a particularly icy splatter of rain into his face.
"Um...D…" the voice of the symbiot called from beneath his gloved hand on the horse's reins, "Are we going where I think we're going?"
D paused before answering, "Yes."
"Do we have to? I mean…he hasn't moved from that damn room for at least 300 years, why do we have to go back…" it whined, and continued in a small annoyed voice, "You know he freaks me out…"
"Because I need to check the wards holding him there. You know this."
"But… he hasn't moved for at least three centuries… he hasn't left that complex for even longer…"
"Are you really that scared of him?"
The symbiot snorted, "I'd be a fool not

His collar pulled over the majority of his face you could only see his nose and above. He wore a hat which he usually had pulled down over his face; it gave him a sense of mystery.
