Scene completely modelled and textured by me from start to finish, lighting was tricky on this one, anyone who has worked with glass alot will know what i mean.
Comments and very appreciated
Edit: Thanks for the comments on the aliasing everyone, its now fixed!! Also, new border, curve adjustments, water re-meshed slightly & added noise. I had just got that numb feeling with it, you know when you spend 8 hours staring at the same picture it becomes dead to you!!
Thankyou very much to ~sampdoria and ~bluespeed9 for the DD feature, im really not worthy
5 Minute render - re-rendering tonight with larger settings +.... This image remains copyright of Ben Service, is not part of Creative Commons and should not be used without my express permission. +.... Comments and +fav's always appreciated
This was shot on my son's 3rd birthday & is 333 kilobytes, now thats special!
It was also shot using a mobile phone but edited in PS
Daddy loves you Louis
There have been alot of questions about this piece being shot on a phone, it was shot on my 1.3MP Nokia 6630 (exif Data True), i took it into photoshop and added about 12-15 adjustment layers Hue/Saturation/etc Painted out the noise in both the clouds and the subjects. There were a couple of extra cloud layers put in to try and give the image more mood as it were
It has come to my attention that someone on DA copied this idea and made thier own version, I dont mind, his is actually better and now has more favourites...but be aware...I DID THIS FIRST and the other bloke is a fucking asshole.
I made this apple a backdrop for the iPod touch which you can find here [link]
But on request I converted it for minimalistic wallpaper!
Resolutions are; 1920x1200 1280x1024 1600x1200
These should scale nicely to fit most desktop sizes If you download please favourite to show your appreciation
You can find a tutorial of how to create this [link]
For those of you who know anything about football (soccer for all you americans ) you'll notice its a 2006 Premier League ball (answers on a postcard for who manufactured it!) When i started this morning I wanted to do an addidas world cup ball but it's not the easiest to model........believe me!
So I settled for the Premiership ball cos I have one here in my room with me, also they are easier to make (buckyball and lots of interesting bevels, inner extrudes and deformations)
The GRASS on this image is 5034 x 5034 and comprises of 7 different stock images of grass and mud, each image used 1 -3 times, compped together in PS and then i did the white lines myself using soft light and colour blending modes plus some grunge brushes on layer masks......took me 3 1/2 hours for just all that!! The grass was 31 Layers and 534MB PSD document!!
I WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL THE COUTRIES COMPETING IN THE WORLD CUP GOOD LUCK, EXCEPT ENGLAND, COS WE DONT NEED LUCK, WE NEED A MIRACLE!!
EDIT: Took into account the crits I recieved from both here and renderosity, made the ball dirty to please the masses, spent a further 3 hours re-texturing so I hope it looks better now...........
As for the displacement, i actually used a dis map right at the start of this image, i ditched it because it lost the realism out of the render so thanks for the comments but trust my judgement, it looks better without
Ok well ive been working on a scene now for about the last week, i wanted to use it because the piece its intended for is taking a while so I thought i would throw in this bottle i modelled a while ago.
Program: Cinema 4D R9 + Advanced render
Models: Me - NO Resources
Textures: All painstakingly made in photoshop, the wallpaper and floorboards were heavily (very) edited stock images You'll see them better in the full piece when its finished.
Lighting: Paul Debevec's Kitchen Probe (Not Visible) at 40% luminosity for diffuse (BG is modelled) + One Parallel Volumetric spot with soft shadows, caustics.
Re-rendered with higher settings.
Fixed moderate texture error on stripped wallpaper.
Rendered different views at lower resolutions to make more of a presentation out of this image and prove the background was not an HDRI sphere
*just realised i forgot to add noise to the renders so sorry for the double re-submission watchers
Changed back to a single view as suggested by =KuKu-DeSyN........thanks
