This is one of those I've had in progress for quite some time!
I finally decided to finish it. I didn't quite finish the body's skin though. Maybe I'll get back to that at another time.
After the face, I grew tired of this piece. Know what I mean?
I am not completely satisfied with this. Wish I'd spent more time on the dress and some other things.
For anyone interested in seeing kind of 'walk-thrus', I made some tutorials while working on it. Nose tut Mouth tut Eyes tut
Just keep in mind, I don't go for total realism. I prefer a ' painterly' feel.
Also, you can find the base of these wings I painted at my resource account, too. [link]
Simple, basic wing tutorial I made is here: [link]
This was done mostly in Photoshop with some corel Painter, using pen/tablet.
Credit: ~orchidee for the ivy brush.
Edit: I can not add any of my recent works to 'fantasy' in digital. They keep going to 'Anthro'. So, I placed this one in ' people >open format.'
This may be my most intricate digital art piece yet. I spent days working on it, in total about 100 hours. The horse is made from so many pieces of various horses, at least 8 horses, none of which were this color. The color is made completely in Photoshop. The tail alone is made with about 7 different pieces.
You will recognize my daughter, Priya as the 'model'. Her dress is made from scratch, a figment of Photoshop's imagination. Priya's Flickr photostream is here: www.flickr.com/photos/priya_papriiika/
After some feedback from viewers, I changed the shape of the horse, making it's size more in alignment with the scale of the rider. Priya prefers the original version with the horse as a stallion, so I've changed it back again to the original version. Here is a link to a small Flash animation I made of both versions. I welcome your opinions: www.thegraphicgroove.com/FlickrRelated/ForgetThePast.htm
This is something I had started in the beginning of December but with not much time, I wasn't able to finish it.
This is also a Collaboration with my friend =Gflady Without her, this may have been sitting longer in my WIP Folder. Thank you Cat for all your help and being a part of this artwork.
Credits: My favorite stock model here =Tw1stedTruth-stock She is completely painted over as many other elements on this one. The jewelry, clothing,Wings are also painted. Background is from a few I purchased and brought together. Butterflys and Brushes used are purchased. Details can be seen here [link]
Ok DA was mean to me and fusked my account totally when I tried to upload (and then delete) this pic. Grrr.
Anyway, that's a pic I've done for an art magazine contest (and was one of the winners)...
Fully in Painter, BG(castle) ref'd.
EDIT: Ok, about some comments I recieved: this is NOT the image I submitted to the DA FeatureME contest
My character Solaris, a really like to paint angels and again I wanted to try cold color palette. A lot of photo refs used for anatomy, but still it could look better esp wings, but I'm tired of correcting it _^_
