SAFE HOUSE - CPxR - chp 7 - ExplanationsYou sat on the floor of the TV room, Smile's head on you leg as you scratched in between his ears. You leaned your head back so you could look at those behind you, mainly Jeff, for whom you had a question which has been burning in the back of your thoughts for a while now. There was also one to direct to any of them, but you saved that for after.SAFE HOUSE - CPxR - chp 7 - Explanations2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"Hey, Jeff? Can I ask you something?"
"You just did."
You sighed at the overused joke.
He chuckled at your reaction, then straightened up.
"Well, what is it? Go ahead."
"Why aren't you blind? I mean, you'd think the lack of eyelids would do that to you." You finally got it out. Now to hear his answer.
Jeff rubbed at the back of his head, uncertain of how to word his answer.
"Honestly, you think I would be. I thought so too. But when Slender does whatever it is he does when he makes someone a proxy, it 's like it..."
"Stops time for you?" BEN offered.
Jeff snapped his fingers at him.
"EXACTLY! That's basically what happens. Its like we're stuck
SAFE HOUSE - CPxR - Chp 9 - ReturnAt school about three days later, people in the hallways grouped together and parted as you walked by, whispering amongst themselves. In class, everyone would sneak glances at you, still whispering. In your second class of the day, your friend who originally told you about Jeff being caught, slammed their hands down on your desk, making you jump and look up.SAFE HOUSE - CPxR - Chp 9 - Return2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"What the hell did you do, (f/n)?!?! You helped a murderer?! What would even possess you to do that?!"
You put your head back down and rolled it to the side, glancing up at them.
"I have my reasons."
"I owed him. He saved my life. I saved his. Fair's fair."
"He did not."
"He did." You told them about the incident during the museum field trip, in the back alleyway.
"That's bullshit. Why would he do that, following you?"
"Because Jack told him to. Besides, if I didn't get him off death row, I'd feel bad, plus the rest of his... Friends, who knows what they would do."
"What do you mean, friends

"You mean, how did we become proxies or similar?" BEN asked, trying to clarify your question, eliciting a nod from you.
"Well, I don't know about those idiots, but I'm actually Link."
"Tell 'em the truth, BEN." Jeff snapped at him. "We all know that's bull, you try it on every newbie."
"Fiiinnneee..." BEN sighed dramatically. "Got drowned, like the name implies, by my idiot father because I went to a convention and stayed a bit later than planned."
"That seems kinda excessive..." You commented. "What about you Jeff?"
He scoffed. "If that internet story is to be believed, I apparently killed a bully in self defense, my brother took the blame, crap happened, I snapped and killed my family."
"And, that's basically what happened."
You nodded at his response, wondering how he felt about what he did.
"What about you Jack? How did you become, well, a cannibalistic surgeon?"
"Medical student, got a bit too curious about stuff going on the loca

"Hey, (Friend's name), what's the deal? What's everyone worked up about?" You asked.
"You haven't heard?! An infamous murderer was caught last night! Jeff the Killer, and they're going to hold a trial really soon for him, here, in our city! Its going to broadcasted all across the globe!" They responded.
You felt your stomach drop at the news.
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah! Its being called the trial of the decade, and the cops who caught him are saying they're gonna try and catch more of those serial killers!"
You blinked rapidly. If they were going to try that, well, it wasn't going to end well. No doubt the rest of the pack has already heard this and planned to get him out.
"Oh, this reminded me, I have to ah, go get some books from th

You blinked your eyes, sunlight streaming past your curtains, which billowed about in the crisp fall breeze from an open window.
You bolted up right, staring confused at the window you never opened. You scrunched your face up, still confused. Swinging your legs out from under the covers, you set your feet down on the cold floor. Trudging out of your room, you shuffled downstairs, only to be greeted by the mask of the same intruder.
You let out a small scream, quickly covering your mouth. The male sat on the couch in your home's family room, with his mask pushed up just to the top of his lips, revealing very pale, almost sick-looking skin and teeth that belonged in a carnivorous creature. Said teeth nibbled on a kidney held in his hands. How he ate was much like a hamster eating a cracker.
Upon hearing your yelp, he stopped nibbling and turned to face you.
You stalked over to the room, folding your arms over your chest.
"What are you doing here?!" You

Once again, you worked on your homework.
Once again, Slender was trying to explain the physics equations to you.
Once again, BEN stole your textbook.
Sighing, you held your hand out for the book. BEN shook his head and scooted further from you.
You took the squirt bottle from the center of the table and pointed it at him. Inside was water and some pepper.
The pepper was for Jeff, as when sprayed in his eyes, well, he can't blink it out. You only sprayed him once and now he doesn't piss you off, as long as the spray bottle is near. BEN, on the other hand, doesn't learn.
"Try me, Link."
He threw his arms in the air, exasperated with that stupid nickname because of his looks.
"Why do you insist on calling me that? He's such a wimp. It's called Legend of Zelda for a reason!" He ranted.
Taking the moment of his distraction as an invitation, you stood up quickly and snatched your book back.
"Thank you." You sat back down and liste

You've gotten a bit more used to having various murderers showing up in your house at random, and so far, nothing too bad has happened. Keyword being too.
Jeff, when trying to take a shower, somehow managed to rip the curtain rod out of the wall, then walked downstairs, dripping wet and lower half wrapped in a towel, holding the rod and curtain with zero idea of what to do. You ended up having to go to the local hardware store to get some really strong epoxy glue to fix it.
Jeff was subsequently banned from touching the shower curtain. Well, any curtains, for that matter.
BEN broke the microwave. No one's sure how. The current theory involves a can of soup and pressing the wrong button.
Jack tracked blood on the only pale-colored carpet in the entire house.
Smile.Dog broke a window trying to get away from Jeff, who was trying to give his canine pal a bath.

When you didn't bring your backpack as you left, Jack questioned this and you explained why. He nodded and told you to be careful because he wouldn't be surprised if one of Zalgo's pack tried something.
You took note of his advice and got to school, five minutes before the bus left.
Touring through a museum you've been to multiple times can get boring so one group decided to go and get lunch at the local diner. You were part of it and left the building to walk a few blocks over to the diner. One of the group, someone leading, decided to take a shortcut through the back alleys.
Several of the group voiced discomfort but were told that there's "safety in numbers", which you knew wasn't always true.
When in the alleys, you and another girl, a popular one, got separated from the g

As you walked past the TV room, you finally registered that someone was watching a show or movie. You stopped midstride and retraced your steps, looking into to see the masked male supposedly named Jack, with two other boys who looked about his age. One was in a white hoodie with faded red stains, with rough, pitch black hair and wide, unblinking eyes ringed with black. A large grin was cut into his face, and although his lips weren't smiling, he would forever look as though he should be.
The other boy had choppy, straw-colored hair that stuck out from underneath a dark green hat and a black jacket with a gold Tri-Force insignia from the Legend of Zelda games embroidered on the shoulders. Small gauges pierced his elven-like ears. His eyes were perhaps t

"We'll be doing Secret Santa this year." Slenderman's voice echoed through everyone's head. He had called a house meeting and everyone had to attend.
Upon hearing the announcement, majority groaned about getting gifts while one seemed happy.
Splendor's always happy.
Each Creepypasta to ever meet him finds it extremely annoying.
Splendor took off his ever-present top hat and handed slips of paper for everyone to write their name on.
As they each scrawled their names down, one by one, Slender explained the rules for finding presents. No one paid attention.
Because not everyone was there, only those present during the holiday season had to participate.
After all the names were in the hat, they had to be drawn.
BEN went first, scowled and walked off to his room.
Jeff pulled a name, slipped the paper in his hoodie pocket and left the house.
Smile stuck his paw in and withdrew one stuck to his foot. He nudged it off and some

There was always this one tall, lanky, weak, and old tree in your fenced-in back yard.
It was always there when you woke up.
It was always there when you played outside.
It was always there on rainy days.
But... It just stood there. Staring at you. Only, with no face.
You've asked his name many times, only you'd never get an answer. You tended to play with it. You had plenty of other friends, but it was special. He was someone who grew close to you. You tried to tell your parents about it, but they'd always say it was your imagination.
You knew it was more than that, though. You knew there was a bond between the two of you.
It was 12 years since you talked with it. He was still anonymous, and stayed mute. When you packed your things to leave to college, you saw a note on the same wrecked tree, though it wasn't there...

You knelt down and picked the necklace off the floor. This was the third random jewelry item you'd found in your room this week. At first you thought maybe a pet had dragged it from your mom's room, but you'd checked with her and she had all her items.
Something fishy was going on.
I'll have to ask Dad if he's playing a prank on me. You thought to yourself as you set the necklace on your desk. Changing into your pajamas and hopping into bed, the strange events were soon forgotten.
You woke up in the middle of the night to hear the sound of a window shutting. Startled, you leaped out of bed and dashed to your window. It was closed, but there was a small piece of paper lying on the floor in front of it.
Narrowing your eyes to see through the darkness, you picked up the scrap. There were words scratched out on it that read,
"I didn't mean to creep you out. I'll stop coming if that's what you want."
A chill ran down your spine. What was this about?
You flicked on a light and
