Fourteen rolls his eyes at me (at least, I assume they're his - he and Tag share the same colour irises, but the rest of him looks like Fourteen). "You think we did?" he asks, hefting a piece of rebar and tossing it onto the mountain of junk we've collected. "I thought this was going to be one of those chance-of-a-lifetime deals. You know - the whole 'use your powers for good' superhero schtick?"
"Yeah, yeah." I can hear Finch sniggering to himself, but I keep a straight face. For all Fourteen's a geek and a nerd and everything else you could sling at him, he's hit the nail on the head with that one. "I got the whole 'join up and serve your nation' thing pinned on me. Like the shifter thing was something I ought to be using for the greater good instead of 'wasting'."
I hadn't been wasting it, of course. If anything, I'd been using it better than

"God, don't remind me. That has to be the stupidest reason to go on a murderous rampage." Catherine sighed.
"Is there ever a smart reason?"
Just then, Greg came through the door with a huge smile plastered on his smug face. He had a small box in his hands. "Hey you guys! Guess what?" He said, excitement in his voice.
"You became sane?" Warrick asked.
"No, but I'm working on that. Why do you guys always ask stupid questions? Anyway, I got us a game to play! It's totally fun!"
Nick and Warrick groaned.
"Aw, shut up! Seriously, this is completely awesome, and we can play it now to get our minds off of the case! Whaddy

It's building up inside of me.

I'm doing this so you want me.
So I can be beautiful in your eyes.
So your not ashamed to love me.

To my lost love
I'll see you again
But for now all I want
Is this bottle of gin
A bottle of sorrow
It fills me up right
Just like you used to
Next to me at night
And you walked out through the door
Without a goodbye or wave now
The flowers hit the floor
That I bought you yesterday
Take him by the hand
Forget I ever loved you more now
Forget the promises
That you promised yesterday
And this is love
This is love
This is nothing to me
And this is love
This is love
Pass the beer down on to me
To my lost love
I'll see you someday
And I hope that your lover
Turns out to be gay
Call me a bastard
Call me insane
Atleast im not lonely
With beer next to me
And you tripped out on the street
Hit by a drunken taxi cab now
You fell down to your feet
No that's the dreams found in my head
To see you suffer love
Like you simply did to me now
Forget all the above
My answers " Yes I want her dead "
And this is love
This is love
This is nothing to me
And this is love
This is love

It will be easy to forget you...
I just can't look to the sky
or even remember the sea...
I'll just have to stop dreaming
and learn how to be alone...
I know I'll forget you..
I just can't remember your smile..
your beautiful eyes,
your sweet mouth...
I can do it,
I know I can...
I just can't look to anything,
I just can't remember,
I just can't live...
I'll forget how important you are on my life...
I'll just have to forget myself...

She jumped at the sound of his voice, but upon finding his face, she smiled. Gaara-sama!
The sky glowed a bruised purple, casting faint shadows on the ground between them. He could tell that she was trying to control her erratic breathing and sighed, crossing the empty street. Her eyes widened, giving him a good view of something akin to surprised pools of only the darkest ink. Gaara-sama?
What did you do, Matsuri? he asked frankly, shifting the gourd on his shoulder. He locked his unwavering gaze to hers.
I it wasnt my fault! she exclaimed. They said she paused, glancing away. Awful thing

Narcotic mind and narcotic soul,
With this curse you will pay your toll,
Destruction of body and decimation of mind,
With these words I your destiny bind.
For seven day and seven night,
I shall plague your spirit with this blight,
Body break and heart sear,
Repent for your sins with screams of fear,
Learn your lesson and learn it well,
Or be forever under this spell.

She was thirteen. Thirteen, and they told him she was dying.
Stephan Thomas was not much older at seventeen but, even still, he thought it was sad. Sad like the calves that did not survive the first few days after birth, their little bodies shriveled and pale, bones jutting out in sharp, awkward points. When they told him that Eliza was dying, he sat quietly on the back step trying to remember all he knew about her.
For thirteen years, they had shared the same home. It was an old stone farm house. At one point in the last century or so, it had been divided in half so that two families could live there side-by-side. Stephan, his mother, and father lived in one side. Eliza Preckerd, her father, and three little sisters lived on the other.
She was tall and astute, with dark hair and brown eyes. Her dresses were all very prim, modest. The only bit of frippery he'd ever seen her indulge in was a blue ribbon for her hair. Unlike her three young sisters, Abby, Becca, and Julie, she was very q

Her face was a mask of horror and she leaped out of the bed. Gaara lay down and watched her. Suddenly, she was very aware that she was naked. She glanced around the room and spotted her clothes. She dived for them, tripped and landed in a heap of Gaaras clothes. Gaara leaned over the side of the bed. You can borrow some of mine if you want, he suggested. She looked at him, her chocol

Where did I go wrong?
You lay on the hospital, pale as marble,
As lively as a ghost.
You were my little angel,
Born to us when we needed you most,
Your smile was always there to light up our faces,
You brought great joy
To your mother and I.
Wasnt it just yesterday,
That you and I snuggled up in your bed,
And you laid your head close to my chest,
As you begged me to read a story,
I had laughed then,
Begging you to go to sleep.
Something about your eyes,
They made me want to fulfill your every wish.
With poorly disguised sighs,

Daddy, daddy, how much money did you make today?
And Id laugh and say, not enough.
Then you would advise me,

You smiled at me so slowly
Curled up in the arms of another
As the rest of the world fell away
Time went by and still we never
Gave way to the feelings inside
Always doing our best to
Sidestep the emotions underneath
Quietly playing cat and mouse
Gently swaying to our own music
While the rest of the world looked on
Without ever knowing what we felt
Cold mornings you reach for her
Wrap her in your arms so tightly
Never wanting to let go
While a lonely smile crossed my face
It wasn't hard to deny that
You were in love with her
And you'd never be mine
So I bore the pain in silence
Still I let your feelings for her grow
A silent sentry to the world passing by
Trying to disguise the hurt I felt
Every time I saw your face light up
Those smiles were not for me
The love you felt at that moment
I thought would never be mine
And those arms would never comfort me
It was in that one perfect moment
Our eyes met and our hearts stopped
While the breath and words left me

Swiftly and softly he moved through the trees. Approaching his next target with absolute silence. He knocked two arrows. The two patrolmen were facing away from him. He fired a quickshot at the first then in a split-second, shot the other as well. The only sounds were slight groans of pain. He continued on, not skipping a beat. He knew there would be more patrols so he knocked another arrow. This time there were 4 patrolmen and a watchdog. Interesting. He sprinted at the opposers, who obviously didn't hear him, and shot the dog first. He then pulled out his shortsword and killed the first 2 patrolmen. By the time the other two had turned around, Arcayus was already moving in for their demise. Another arrow flew through the air and hit another patrolmen. The remaining patrolmen, petrified, went for his radio but felt a sharp pain in his back. A thrown knife. Arcayus picked up his knife and continued through the thick vegetation.
The Death Of ChivalryHonor is a difficult thing. Espeically these days, what with there no longer being any to go around. The Death Of Chivalry6 years ago in Academic Essays More Like This
A good friend an I often joke about being the ones, "Keeping Chivalry on the breathing tube." However, we operate reverse to the average person; serious when joking, jokinly when beign serious. We know we're of a select few who actually try to go with decency before brutish acts.
Now, that's something to take pride in, I know that much. I know I'm a king because of it, or leastways some kind of squire, or something. Frankly, I can't be bothered to think about ranks these days.
The problem is a lack of recognition for it. I can go out of my way for somebody, and they'll completely ignore it. Now, I'm not an attention-craver, by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, sometimes, being alone, out in a field, with a can of Arizona and a good book is all I need to have a great weekend. But there's a nod to acknowledge decency, and there's being an ass.
That's one of the reasons I attribute

Danny stood in disbelief.
Gone… they were gone this time… no, no no no this couldn't be happening… it wasn't meant to happen, not when he'd finally done it, not when he'd defeated Dan, it was all supposed to be alright.
Danny looked around frantically. There was no one there yet. But where was he? Where was the purple hood and time staff? Where was the forgiving smile and wisened red eyes? Clockwork had saved them before… he must have… he must have got them out without being able to tell Danny. Danny went intangible where moments before he couldn't and ran into the flames and wreckage to make sure they were gone.
Moments later he wished he hadn't done this.
He stumbled out of the destruction and flames, tangible and burnt, the powers hadn't lasted long, and what was more he fell to his hands and knees and retched violently.
"Oh god… oh god no… NO…" he whimpered, coughing from the smoke and shaking his head. He was trying desperately to forget having seen those charred remains…

Wolf's Bane, Loves ReignThis is a story of rivals, first loves and royalty. And as with all stories, the best place to start is at the beginning. Once upon a time, in the Kingdom of Belwood, there lived a young prince named Ben Tennyson, who ruled his kingdom alongside his small family. By his side were his grandfather, Max Tennyson, and his cousin, Gwen Tennyson. But this young prince was not like the others. No, unlike the other princes, Ben wasn't human...not completely, at least. He was half Loban, a wolf-like alien race. His father was a Loban, while his mother was a human. A year before our story begins, Ben lost his dear and loving parents. Though it was a horrible loss, and still leaves a pain in Ben's heart, the young half-Loban prince and his family have managed to find some peace amidst the tragedy.Wolf's Bane, Loves Reign2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
