Taken at Red Hills Farm - Marradong - Western Australia
My partner's brother owns and operates a sheep farm that has been in their family for over 100 years.
I am an avid animal lover, and as such have a massive issue with the live sheep trade. I have had numerous discussions about the subject which all seem to end in a stalemate... farmers welfare vs animals welfare
These little guys were due to be sold at auction (most likely to live traders) a few days after this picture was taken.
I try so very hard to understand the farmer's way of life and making money, but to me each life is precious and should not be taken so callously.
I hope that some of you at least can look into their faces and know that we as human beings should at least be obligated to give them a quick and humane death, not send them off for their last weeks on earth to experience the horrific conditions of a live sheep traders ship (and what awaits them beyond).
i urge everyone who sees this picture to go and do a little research into the live animal trade and see exactly what these gentle creatures endure on their way to their final destiny.
they see they hear they think they feel they smell they taste they experience
