''First, let’s talk about Bayonetta, the “modern witch”, and this game’s main character. Those who played the previous title are likely to notice that her trademark hairstyle has been given a complete makeover. After talking with Hashimoto and Kamiya, the three of us came to the conclusion Bayonetta’s not the kind of girl who’d show up with the same hairstyle for her sequel. A girl can be known to change her hairstyle depending on her mood, so I guess Bayonetta was in the mood for something short. Still, knowing her, there’s no telling when she’ll decide to change it again.
Bayonetta’s overall theme this time is “Solid.”
"She’s still wearing black, and I think her shorter hair gives her a generally more masculine look. While her design in the last game focused on curves, this time we see more straight lines. All of her accessories follow this, exc
A little story...Wanted to share this story with you guys, and future creators:A little story...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
After getting out of a slump, I wanted to share this story of something I went through a few years back. Bit of a read, but thanks for sticking through it
As you know, Comic-Con is arriving and as I prepare for it, I grow more and more anticipated with anxiety/joy in regards to the re-release of Last Man Standing.
As long, challenging, and mind-opening the creation of LMS was, something really stuck with me.
Before I had created LMS, I wanted to work for WETA Workshop. To those that don't know them, they've created props, designs, sets, costumes, and more for The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, District-9, Elysium, The Hobbit and many more films.
I was obsessed and inspired with them. The creator, Richard Taylor was always a huge inspiration to me. After viewing supplements on the Extended Editions of The Lord of the Rings DVDS, I knew right there: I HAD TO WORK FOR THEM.
So I al
Sketchbook Pro 6So most of you know that I'm a Sketchbook Pro user.Sketchbook Pro 63 years ago in Personal More Like This
A few days back, Autodesk released Sketchbook Pro 6, and I think this is the version that's going to make a lot of people who have YET to experience Sketchbook Pro in full, or haven't really given the past versions a chance, switch over to making it their digital drawing software of choice; heck, even their PAINTING software of choice.
We still have the cleverly-designed user interface, that makes it easy on the eyes and mind when we're brainstorming and sketching. With the handful of new tools introduced, we still have a clutter-free drawing environment, and man, there's some awesome tools this time around. I'll go down the list:
The Brush Library
The main brush toolbar itself has a click-and-drag function, allowing you to store all your often-used brushes in each of the "lanes". You then can click the button on the upper-right and then a fu
Experiment Part 1: Training Your EyeSo my buddy karuvan is trying to learn how to draw properly. He's been on a roll as far as progressing. But he's stuck at a standstill. This is an experiment that I've done with him and that he's working on in order to train his eye. I decided to share the conversation and experiment with you guys for you all to apply to your study habits and advancement in drawing and art.Experiment Part 1: Training Your Eye3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Karuvan: I randomly drew over my old pic. Ain't gonna do it over, was just curious on how much I could have done better.
Robaato: Quick question... like... who's work at this point do you really want yours to be close to? I'm tryna gauge what level you're trying to achieve.
K: lol... Joel is becoming a huge influence.
R: Ok. I have a test for you.
R: I want you to replicate this picture exactly as it is to the best of your ability:
Art Instruction Books that I've Found HelpfulHey folks,Art Instruction Books that I've Found Helpful2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So last week I wrote about irrational confidence and how it helps artistsand you all seemed to enjoy it. One of the things that really stood out to me was how many of you went out and bought "Force: Dynamic Life Drawing for Animators" by Mike Mattesi.
As a person that spends a lot of time trying to get better at drawing, I have read a billion and a half art instruction books. Not all of them are good, and some of them I feel even steer you in the wrong direction. So I'd like to try and distill the information that I've accumulated over the years for you here—which books actually worked for me. I'll provide links as well. What a swell guy, huh?
Warm Bodies ...Warm Bodies ...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Watch it. Seriously.
I just got back from the cinemas, where I caught Warm Bodies with my bestie from LASALLE. I know what you're thinking, that the movie didn't look that great. Yet another zombie movie amongst the throngs of supernatural the media flings at us, yet another teenage romance to appeal to every young adult with a pulse. And I will be the first to admit that when I first heard the outline of the story - a cute young man who just happens to be undead falls in love with a young girl at first sight - I was skeptical. I assumed it would become a rehash of Twilight, and I just got over the nausea of seeing those posters cluttering all the billboards.
However, after trawling through the trailers and finding them appealing and funny, I decided that the movie was worth a shot. It advertises itself as a quirky, humorous take on zombies, throwing in a mix of teenage romance
Not Gadot! It was announced a few days ago (I’ve been outa the loop and didn’t hear till this morning) that Wonder Woman will be showing up in Man of Steel 2: Batfleck Rises. Not Gadot!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It’s also been hinted that other familiar faces from the Batman universe will either appear or be referenced.
First concern at this news is that they’re moving too fast. WB are looking enviously at the cash-cow that is The Avengers and are force feeding their own franchise all manner of unhealthy things in an effort to hasten its development.
If they don’t devote the same amount of time to character development as the Marvel films did, the general movie-going audience isn’t going to have a real desire to see a JLA flick as they will simply feel no connection to the characters.
Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America. There were 5 movies before we got to Avengers. It made people invest in the universe that was being presented.

To all you awesome people who've done fanart for me over the years...
You guys are amazing, and I’m grateful for every single fan piece that’s been done for me, no matter how rough or rudimentary it is.
Now, that being said, I want to share a little bit of truth with everyone. No matter how many fans draw my characters out of admiration for them or for my work, I do not see this as determining my level of success or popularity. Fanart does not define me as an artist or who I am as a person. It is what I do and how I behave with everyone that defines me as a person. I share this with you guys because I have recently seen a few cases where good artists I know have deemed themselves unwanted or unloved from lack of fanart of their works. Of course, feeling down due to lack of feedback on your work is a natural feeling for an artist to have, and little to no demonstrations of interest in your art can be heartbreaking

Small Hints how to get views, faves etc.For a lot of you it might be nothing new, but since a lot of you are either new on dA or not experienced with something like "strategies" to get views, comments and faves for their works i (your most favourite dA group guy :icongbk666: ) thought i write up a few hopefully useful hints for you.Small Hints how to get views, faves etc.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
1. Upload as many drawings / photos etc. as you can. Some of you would argue now that it can be counterproductive if the deviations are not good, but i come to that point in #2
2. Join Groups. A Ton of them.. at least 15-25 . And submit your stuff to them on a regular base. BUT only the things you consider by yourself as "good" . The rest is for your gallery only, and interesting for those deviants who want to see sketches, WIP's etc.
Always care about the theme of the dA groups of course and about their rules. If you are not Alvin Lee, Artgerm or Genzoman or have over 100k views on your profile already and over 400-500 watchers at least you really need dA groups to g

REAL CREATIVISM LOGA lot of people ask me what do i think when im drawing, whats your creative process, and what are the magical fairies you are thinking while you draw, about life, beauty and wisdom of the world. You will be surprised how thats not what i think while i draw and how this process repeats all the time while i draw.REAL CREATIVISM LOG3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The purpose of this journal its to let people know how we are all filled with doubts agony and stupid funny things while we draw. So you wont feel you are doing something wrong.
Will be cool if this became a spam, and people started to share in their journals the same way i did while you are at work.

Shedding the Inner CriticWe have to treat ourselves better.Shedding the Inner Critic11 months ago in Personal More Like This
Will we ever find that ease we dream of - the one where we wake, every day,
a bright vessel brimful of inspiration? Anticipating the siren-call of the canvas, so
magnetic in a way. Brushes and paint are drawn to it. We don’t have to think.
This art makes itself. We are a conduit, a mother-father of pigment children.
Yes - I dream of such things.
There’s not a day when I don’t consider this. Art has weight, and it weighs on us.
Our arms grow heavy even as we contemplate the first line. Fear is a big part of it.
Fear that we’ll be found lacking – not by others, but by the inner bully-child.
Younger, bitter selves that stand at our shoulders muttering obscenities and abuse.
“That is utter shit,” he/she says. “You’re wasting everybody’s time. Who gives a

SO, lets begin the story with drama. Cos thats the best way to start any adventure. If you wanna skip to the chicago trip part then just skip to the next section. OK SO.. Passport. Just hearing the word passport gives me nightmares now. So what happened was, after I found out I have got myself a table space in Acen, I did all the neccersary things, I went straight to a flight centre to book my airticket, I did all these alone without problem, got my passport ready, made sure everything is set, I paid the money, all good. My passport was gonna expire at the end of the year but thats fine because it still covered the Chicago trip, I booked my hotel, found the best place to stay, da di da di da, everything was good. And then my lovely mother decided t

A lot of people seem to forget that you can do more for recycling than just putting it in the correct container when you throw things out. By saving certain recyclables you can take them into designated locations and earn some money back on your purchases. This doesn't just go for bottles and cans either, you can take in a lot more.
Examples of Things that you can take in:
Tin wet food containers (Ex: Friskies cans)Laundry detergent bottles & Cat litter containersLids from places like Starbucks that are plasticFood trays from Microwave mealsGlass containers from alcohol bottles or sauce bottles.Fast food plastic containers like the side containers from KFC.

A very sad nightMy dog, Liberty, passed away last night. She has been sick for the past couple of days, and last night we could tell that it was her time to go. She was very uncomfortable, so we took her to the vet to put her down in a more peaceful way. (Please do not judge for this decision. She was a very old dog and we did not want to see her suffer). The whole experience was extremely heart-wrenching. It was not an easy decision, but the vet agreed that she would've gone in the next couple hours and it would've been a long and painful process. She was having difficulty breathing and was anemic. It was reassuring that the vet could spare her a few hours of pain.A very sad night1 year ago in Personal More Like This

and creative process as much as anything else - how I start, and even why.
What makes a memorable character?
What are the themes?
How much do you care about popularity - ie. is it a project you're doing for
yourself, or because you hope it will generate a huge, mainstream audience?
What age-range is it?
And as mentioned earlier - why is it important you do it?
But let's start with...
Where do you get you ideas?
Great ideas do not come fully-formed out of the ether. Even the ideas I've
had that were born of dreams, and dragged screaming from my subconscious
before I forgot them, were an accumulation of living experiences. In Metawhal
Alpha the setting is somewhere I lived as a boy. I know every inch of the
Clock Warehouse, the noises and smells of the place, as well as the referenced
folklore. The Pub in Death and the Myrmidon was indeed a local, and it does
