advice on some stuff to look up before tutorialsso im gonna be starting to make some tutorials soonadvice on some stuff to look up before tutorials3 years ago in Personal More Like This
before that you should look up some informations
you probably noticed that in my work it is often hard to distinguish if im using a zbrush model or just painined it all in photoshop
reason for that is simple.
my realism rendering is greatly based on 3 d rendering processes.
by this i mean as i learned 3d i became aware of the stuff we usually visually take for granted.
qualities of material, importance of reflectivity, ambient occlusion, and subsurface scattering.
to any 3d artist these are everyday terms, while 2d artists usually paint them without often even being aware of wheat they are really doing
for instance , a 3d artist will at any given point use 2 types of shadows. cast shadows from a direct lightsource, and ambient occlusion shadows which naturally appear more intensively the closer planes of an object are together.
i can get into this and make it a long discussion , but easier w

ANIME CONVENTIONS/FAKE LALAS!
I said it in the video down below, but to sum it up: Some people are saying that they plan to meet with me at a convention that I don't even attend/live near. I only attend A-kon and Anime Fest in Texas. These "Lalasosus" that you are going to "meet" at some random convention are not me, I'm sorry! on stylesimma keep this one simple....on styles3 years ago in Personal More Like This
style is just how the artist feels like treating his or her world at any given time!
it is influenced by the styles of other artists the artist admires
it is an amalgamation of influences mixed with personal sensibility....
it is perpetually changing and evolving
and it is not a trademarked property
see, i personally am a mix of influences from michael turner , adam hughes, marc silvestri, alex ross a few concept artist, and my design is greatly influenced by stan winston studio
my cartoonyer style is influenced greatly by disney and don bluth with a dash of manga and a healthy dose of j scott campbell who can probably tell you a similar story about the origins of his own style
its the nature of humanity people.
we stand on each others shoulders striving for greatness. so too will i influence quite a few artists who will adapt my own approaches into their workflow.
also.... i'm batman!
just to see who is still reading XD

I'm sooooo sorry for how long I've been away! Honestly, I really didn't expect this hiatus to last this long, and really, I didn't even expect to be taking another hiatus. (Had I actually planned it, I would have at least announced it and given you an exact date I planned to return.) But honestly, things went from shitty to utter hell in my personal life.
As most of you guys know, I had been working a really awful job that made me utterly miserable. Well things got worse and worse until finally I couldn't take it. My depression got worse than it had been in years, and I was really struggling for a while. I even got to the point where I didn't want to draw anymore and considered never coming back...
But that dark period ended. With the support of my friends and family, I finally found the strength to quit my job and get out of that toxic environment. I'm at home with my parents now, and they've been so supportive and have helped me out through this process. I'm cur
Policy StatementThis is ridiculous to me, but I guess to be 100% fair to all who visit this page, I ought to post this statement up front:Policy Statement3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I have made it clear from the outset that I am simply not interested in arguing with people with opposing views over the internet. To disregard that request is, in my view, trollish behavior. "Discussion" is a waste of my time. Every minute I spend "arguing" with someone (who has not arguments, but rather, beliefs) is a minute spent away from poastering, sending emails, making phone calls, trying to raise a little money, and other useful things to advance Occupy/Anon/anti-SOPA, and other progressive movements.
If someone wants to discuss on this page how to advance the goals of Occupy, Anon, anti-SOPA, pro-women, 'green,' etc., or, how to make these poasters more effective (including suggestions and requests), they will be welcomed and their comments will receive a courteous reply. If people want to exchange friendly, admiring, helpful, or even flirtatio

stop making excuses!i heard many people tell me that they want to make comics, they want to write them they want to draw them... but when i ask them why they don't have samples ready, it is always a barrage of excuses.stop making excuses!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
so this year, on san diego comic con i met a guy that just in one simple swoop destroyed my patience for excuses.

you go here, you see this video... and you ask yourselves, do you want it hard enough.
this man is a storyteller at heart. his cmic is an intense one, really cool and i recommend it it is available for preorder, a voice in the dark. it is out in november. i don't usually promote stuf, rarely even my own, but i want to promote this because this man deserves it!
so stop looking for excuses, stop trying to find reasons why it cant be done, start working on ways to get it done.

The Guardian's Child (Jack Frost x Reader) Part 4You paused and stared as Bunnymund hugged you, It wasn't every day you get hugged by a rabbit the size of an amazon woman, well... Maybe until now. You wondered, "How did the egg end up being enchanted..?" You asked Bunnymund as North departed to his workshop, you remained with Kathy, Tooth, and Pitch. It must have been night where humans were now, Sandy was gone. Bunnymund filled his face with a mad expression. The Guardian's Child (Jack Frost x Reader) Part 43 years ago in Personal More Like This
"How did my egg shrivel into ash?" He turned to Pitch "Well I saw that the girl had a bit of.. creativity. I wanted a daughter such as that to spread night-" He stopped once Bunnymund was standing in front of him "You already have more than dozens of horses." he kicked him with his large foot which made you look at your white boots, paws. You saw Tooth and Kathy yelling and rushed out the door, tripping on the stairs, you weren't used to these boots yet.
You saw Jack out in the snow, you grew curious and walked to him, you held out your gloved hand to his face. He recoiled from

You looked around, nothing was close to what it looked like at your house.. All there was were hummingbirds and eggs.. Everywhere. A voice in your head told you not to touch anything, but you couldn't resist the colored chocolate eggs and feathers. You were always the creative one at your school and in your family. You started to craft things with the feathers and placed an egg at the top. You were suck in this jungle cove. There was no possible way to climb it, because of your sprained ankle. You were running laps as you got run into by someone, you had forgotten about that pain, but when you started to walk you could feel it. So you sat on the grassy ground and looked around, you smiled. You were a loner most of the time, because you didn't like the things girls at you school did. You had gotten used to it and liked being alone. You're eyes started to soften as you saw a lick of golden sand cross your face. You drifted in
My DeviantART StoryI've seen this floating around, idk why I'd tell my own boring story but I guess I will. <D Uh, hm.My DeviantART Story1 year ago in Personal More Like This
:I ...Well I discovered DA when I was in my second or third year of high school, via some friends in art class (Art class naturally leads to art website) and I really enjoyed browsing all the breathtaking artwork on DA. At that time, I was ...around 15, and really into fantasy stuff like dragons, fairies, neopets, and anime, especially an older anime, Yu Yu Hakusho, which was my compllleeete obsession. I'd probably be a dragon or fantasy artist to this day if I hadn't discovered what completely turned my head around on my shoulders.
Yeahhh you guessed it: Invader Zim.
I remember the day so clearly and everything...I was roasting in the middle of summer, in my dad's temporary apartment which didn't have AC, sitting on my bed in the small, open loft with my laptop and trying to distract myself from the heat. I stumbled on Invader Zim episodes online and binged on them all in one go. I g

This is why the Doctor is RealThis is something that actually happened some time back, but I didn't really write it down or anything. Lately though, I was thinking about it, and I wanted to share it with my friends here. This is why the Doctor is Real3 years ago in Personal More Like This
To give a little background, everyone in my family watches (and loves) Doctor Who. I have a very young sister who has only gotten to see a handful of episodes of the new series because the rest would scare her, but she still was desperate to see more of the Doctor, so we started watching the classic episodes together. She's our little Whovian. She loves all the Doctors, especially Eleven and Four, and she said Sarah Jane is her hero because 'she must be, like, the bravest person EVER and I want to be brave like her.'
I guess that's why I wasn't sure what to tell her when one day she walked up to me, a serious expression on her little face, and asked 'Sarah, is the Doctor real?'
I was stunned. I thought she understood it was just a show. She's never even believed
For everyone freaking out bout that rumor.About Sesseur writing a story in which he "kills off" Jeff. For everyone freaking out bout that rumor.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
First point: it's probably not true.
Second point: He made the picture the pasta was BASED ON, but he didn't write the pasta itself. The pasta was originally written in Spanish, and was made with no input or permission from Sesseur. Nobody knows who wrote it, really. And, like Slenderman, Jeff is practically a public-domain character; no one really owns him and his "canon" is incredibly vague.
I REPEAT: SESSEUR DOES NOT OWN JEFF THE KILLER. HE MERELY OWNS THE IMAGE JEFF THE KILLER WAS BASED ON.
Third point: The Jeff in Sesseur's story is NOT the same as the one in the creepypasta. The story Sesseur wrote was about a grown man who spilled a bucket of acid on himself while trying to clean his bathtub and plays totally differently than the pasta we're all familiar with.
So, in conclusion: Sesseur "killing off" Jeff wouldn'

There is a way to CHEAT WITH ART !!!
watch this and tell me if this art deserves to be in a digital drawing& painting gallery :
IT IS ONLY AN EASY PHOTO MANIPULATION !
the cheat :
take a photo/a screenshot, open it in your picture editor ( gimp, photoshop, etc... ).
you may increase the resolution or the size ( picture=>scale/resolution... ), then use the smudge to make it look like a photo.
:iconglassesplz: how to recognise cheated "art" :
• usually, it's human or animals portraits.
• these drawings are realistic, with realistic colours/proportions but the stroke is smooth.
• watch closely the picture : you see smudge stroke. it's like a brush stroke, but in this case you'll see them only in some places in the drawing : some details are nearly perfect but s
